This guy left a message about a great deal on my current credit card - 1.5% interest, since I'm only paying the minimum. He left an 800 number that I didn't call. Figured it was a scam.

This person called me this afternoon. I said hello, and a man said hello back, and hung up.

Same as many of the posters above. They called me and I heard "hello" then nothing. I called the number back and the call could not be completed. SOB's....

Same as all others. Call came in on my cellphone at 12:27pm yesterday. I answered and male voice said Hello then we were disconnected. Tried calling back but can't complete the call.
Marylander 2010-02-02 09:02:09 Unknown
Got the 'Hello ...' disconnect call 12 hours ago. Just got a 3 am hang-up call from another number that 'cannot be completed as dialed' when call returned, starting 806-019-xxxx. Anyone else by chance? Looking for a connection . . .

The same thing happened to me at 9:26 am February 1, 2010. I was sleeping and that gut woke me up. I was so pissed off. Totally, I went to bed at like 7 in the morning and that retard... I missed that call but called him back right away, and got the message thing. "Call can not be copleted as dialed" Any one have a clue who might be after this?
Amanda 2010-02-02 02:27:25 Unknown
Yep. I got a call from this number while I was in school! I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I didn't call back because I didn't know the number. I decided to check the area code and got this site. This person has too much time on their hands to be doing this.

I also live in Everett, WA and i too got a phone call this morning but didn't answer, I listened to my voicemail and some guy trying to get me to call him back about interest rates on my credit card, which i know my credit card company wouldn't call me with interest notices, they mail them. He didn't say who he was calling with and i definetly didnt' call back. I sell cell phones and I have heard of these types of scams!
Joe 2010-02-02 00:47:00 Unknown
Same as you I answered and the guy said "Hello and hung up I tried to call back but I got the same recording
nodoze 2010-02-01 23:18:10 Unknown
Called my cell phone. Did not leave message. I don't like calls like these types. Reminds me of scammers

Just got a call. Same story as all the rest. I didn't answer and Brian Stevens left message. The "Hello" was cut off and said something like, "Hey this Brian calling about our coversation last week"....... the rest is the same.
Kristi 2010-02-01 22:20:54 Non-profit Organization
Same as the other posters. I don't even carry a credit card, and "Brian Stevens" claimed that based on an earlier conversation he could reduce my interest rates to 1.5% and cut my payments in half, which would be a help since I'm only making the minimum payment. On what? I don't own a credit card. The toll free # on the message is 1-888-442-0881. Called that and got a recording "thank you for calling..." and was put on hold with crappy music and occasional updates that my call was important. Finally talked to someone named Brooke who said it was a non-profit debt relief center. I said I don't have a credit card, and asked how she got my number and she hung up.

Look at what Fidelity says about the number above - they replied to ROB who keeps posting their info:
"Fidelity Communications NO LONGER owns that phone number. It once belonged to a payphone, but the number was disconnected years ago and returned to a number pool. We are receiving numerous calls as a result of your post.
Anyone who sees this number show up on their Caller ID should contact the Attorney General in their state and report the 800 number they were told by the telemarketer to call." - Fidelity on page 1 of this thread
The PSC requires a number pool to be set up for use by other telcos... so Fidelity can only own certain blocks of numbers. When I call this number I get a message that it cannot be completed as dialed. THIS IS FRAUDULENT! THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN STOP IT IS TO CALL THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND HAVE THEM INVESTIGATE THEM! this is tied to 888-442-0881 so be sure to include that!

Same as everyone else. They called I said "Hello"...He said "hello" sounded like it cut out. Man! With all these postings this guy has been really busy.

I, too experienced this scam an hour ago. Called the 888 442 0881# to complain. Was told the call was made "in error" and that I could "disregard the call." I think this is a phishing scam. Look up DMS-Idaho, the website is gone. Look up CCC and you hit more dead ends. I would guess it's all fake.
buddy 2010-02-01 20:49:36 Unknown
Same story here, recording just says "Ah... Hi". 4 calls within the last hour.
cc 2010-02-01 20:48:56 Unknown
Just got the call, I didn't pick up and a guy left a voicemail. The message seemed to be cut off and I heard the last part of it.. He told me to call an 888 number today, and that the offer was ending today. I erased it and didn't call back.
rojo 2010-02-01 20:45:48 Unknown
this guy is really active. I got the call a few minutes ago. Called and when I answered he said hello then hung up.
Roberta 2010-02-01 20:45:21 Unknown
I just got the call and looked it up real quick online in case he called back. All he said was "hello" and nothing else so I hung up too. This is crap! How many calls can he make and get away with it?

Voice message left on my cell from 573-764-9311 regarding a (nonexistent) previous conversation about lowering my credit card charges. I deleted the message and of course did not call back the number. If there is a legal way to stop this, and even better, to penalize (financially and severely) whoever is doing this I am all for it.

Yeah, got a voice mail left about 1:30 today on our office phone. Definitely not kosher as this is a phone in a university department.

I just got this phone call. Sounded like he cut out when he said hello... then the line disconnected. The area code is the same one of my exhusbands.. Macks creek, osage beach, camdenton, jefferson city, fulton.. that area of Missouri.. definitely a scam.. don't give your information out anyone! :)

Just received call from a guy calling himself "Brian Stevens" who said he was calling me after having spoke to me last week about lowering my interest rate and monthly payments. That is pure nonsense because I never spoke to anyone about such a thing.
Blah Blah Blah 2010-02-01 19:37:55 Telemarketer
Got a call from this number and sent it to voicemail. They left a message telling me they could lower my interest rate on my credit card since I am only making the minumum payments. I pay $200-$400 a month on my cards, if that were my minumum payment I would need to be in a shopaholics program. Scam.
J 2010-02-01 19:37:41 Unknown
Is a disabled number from a payphone per phone company. They are reporting it???? I think they have been swamped with calls and also they have a lot of storm outages per their phone msg before talking to an operator. Who knows maybe it is mother nature calling all of us.
anom 2010-02-01 19:34:50 Unknown
I just called the 1800 under which 573-764-9311 is registered they said its a disconnected pay phone someone is messing with something the numbers been reported what ever you do dont give out you info on anything.
