This is Foresight Financial, a marketing company. They enroll clients for the National Financial Relief Center (NFRC) whose company is at the web address mentioned above. They are not a scam, rather a company that provides a bankruptcy alternative service known as debt settlement.
Their services may not be for everyone. For example, if you can afford paying your bills on time, aren't financially struggling and are able to pay more than the minimum payment each month a debt settlement program is probably not your best option. However, if you are struggling paying your bills or are already in collections debt settlement may be the perfect option for you.
Minimum payments with the creditors are often designed to keep you in debt for 30 or more years, and this can both negatively affect your credit, your lifestyle, your retirement and so much more. Many people need financial help or proper guidance, especially in this economy.
Debt settlement won't necessarily "ruin" your credit score like mentioned above, as it really depends on your credit score right now. If you are already behind, in collections, etc. it would likely benefit your credit. If you have considered filing bankruptcy, which would hurt your credit, this provides a good alternative. Again if you are having no problems with your bills and your credit is good obviously a plan like this would hurt it. Like i mentioned before it may not be for everyone, but depending on your personal situation it may be able to greatly benefit you.

Called this number back, they answered, but hung up on me twice. Maybe we should all call it all day long

Actually I found this site because I also got a call from this number. I listened to what they had to say and ended up doing my own research. They enrolled people into a program that another company provided, therefore they are a marketing company. Kind of like W-Mart sells other companies products. They market for other companies.

I agree completely. Never do anything with anyone/any company you don't know or trust.
Mike 2010-10-19 02:18:10 Unknown
You sound intelligent by your response. I'm sure you know what you are talking about.
My mom had a debt settlement company help her out tremendously. She had over $30,000 of debt she was struggling to pay for that was paid off for $5,000. She did not sign up with anyone calling her over and over, as I advised her to ignore those calls and to put herself on the do not call list, as I would advise anyone who receives unwanted calls to do. However, after searching for help we called a reputable company together and she ended up getting great results. The company she enrolled with was extremely up front with her about their services and what they could and could not do.
Again, a debt relief service may not be for everyone, and each service has its own advantages and disadvantages. You may be lucky enough to not have to worry about debt or the problems it can cause but not everyone is so lucky. However, there is no reason to act ignorant about something you obviously have no knowledge about.

Just received a call from 5803073097. It was someone selling some sort of financial service. Very pushy, wouldn't hang up! Don't pick up the phone.

I'm in AZ and they called and asked for "Ed". There is an Ed living here, but shouldn't they have asked for Edward, or Mr. So-and-so? They aren't friends, they should abbreviate a name like they are. They came up with the number and "OKLAHOMA" as the name on Caller ID. It was the first time I had personally seen it, so I answered. People in our house have friends in many states, so I thought i might be a cell phone or something of one of them.
So frustrating...we get a call (sometimes daily for like a week plus) from a local carpet cleaning company, and we have told them several times that we don't even have carpet, and to stop calling. Mom finally told them she was going to report them and they'd be fined...but that was only a day or two ago...we'll see if they call again...lol.

keeps calling our number, what to do????
Ryan 2010-07-13 18:29:35 Unknown
Called and left a blank voicemail 9:54 long!
Millie 2010-07-01 19:07:18 Unknown
Company has called several times. However, I don't answer unavailables, out of area, unknown or name not found calls. My answering machine does. I screen my calls and if they don't talk and leave a message then they remain however they appear on my phone. One push of a button and they become deleted. Probably as much or more annoying to them as they think they are to me. Just curious to know who's behind the scheme or scam.

I just got another call and the woman asked is this Barb? and after newly comming to this site an hour ago, I said cease and desist- do not call this number again- do you understand? and she kept saying is this Barb?,and I repeated cease and desist.do you understand? and she just wanted me to confirm my name, I did not and just hung up on her after repeating again cease and desist bla bla again. At least it made me feel better! I am registered on the do not call list but will do it again because this caller has my name! I went thru identity theft before and do not want that to happen again!

Creepy the company just contacts people randomly, should be shut down for calling people in other states. If I want help I call someone in INDIANA.
witchyone 2010-05-11 00:43:43 Unknown
PUT YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER ON THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST AND IF YOUR STATE HAS A DO NOT CALL LIST THAT SHOULD STOP THE CALLS. IF NOT FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF YOUR STATE THAT WILL GET THEIR ATTENTION THAT YOU MEAN BUSINESS AND WANT THEM TO STOP CONTACTING YOU.
witchyone 2010-05-11 00:39:39 Unknown
Wouldn't stop calling me and my number is on the National Do Not Call List and The State of Indiana Do Not Call List. Company keeps saying it's not and I checked after they called today guess what it is on both list. PUT YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER INTO THE NATIONAL AND YOUR STATE DO NOT CALL LIST THEN THAT SHOULD STOP ALL UNWANTED CALLS. MY NEXT MOVER IS TO FILE A COMPLAINT.

This is a financial collection agency that proclaims to do debt settlement for you to relieve your debts. Say you have $18 in debt, and they will work with your creditors to pay them $9,000 over monthly payments for the term with $49 a month going to them, and in the end you will pay about $13K back. This really screws up your credit, as debt settlement lowers your credit score the same as a bankruptcy. But this firm is not worried about your credit score.
Info below found at: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-580-307-3097
The firm is out of St Petersburg Fla, and their speil says they are licensed by the Dept of Agriculture and Commerce, with their license number TC7238. They have a call back number of 877-870-4737. Their website is www.webnfrc.com . While we regard them as scammers they operate within the law, but it is not a good deal for those in debt to be suckered into using them. Ask them to take your number off their list.

It is a scam! I've already talked to the police about it and have been notified that it is indeed a scam.
