Actually, at the same time 8174445194 has started to call me, too.

Perhaps they're connected? Both seem to be regarding car warrenties.

HOW do those guys obtain our numbers?
Do they hack into databases?
Do the insurance companies sell our data?
Anybody an answer?

I received a call from this number, 1-580-822-3386 on December 31st. On all days! I didn't answer since I don't know that number, but I've searched online for the number and it says it's an Oklahoma number and brought me to their address, name, and zip code as previous comments above me say. I'm in disbelief at how people are scaming other people all over the world and obtain our numbers from God knows where! I'm going to call my phone company about this and hopefully they'll do something about this.

I am glad though that there's a website and not only one, but many websites about this scam numbers!

Like Ryan I received this call on my telus business cell. I pressed 1 to go to a real person as my Toyota warrantee just ran out. This was not Toyota or any real company. A female answered and asked for my personal info to verify my identity. I asked her who she worked for? She said the warrantee company. Which warrantee company? A: The one for your vehicle. What kind of vehicle do I own? A: I do not have that information as it is locked in our "secure database". I could also hear lots of noise in the back ground of general office work and chatter.

THIS IS A SCAM!! These people will offer you a warrantee no doubt at a great price. Dont fall into this type of scam.

Also it does'nt matter who your phone is with they are using an auto dialer that is calling every phone number in Alberta!!

There are many of these scams on the go and are either in Quebec or some African country!!!

Telemarketer
Received a call to my cell in Calgary.  Identical to B.S. calls from 416-000-1565.  Warranty Services for autos.  Hung up on all theses calls.  This is the fourth phone number to try this on my cell and home phone number since the beginning of the year.  The caller ID phone number appears to change every few weeks.  I receive one to three calls then they stop for a few weeks.  Very annoying.

IT IS A SCAM
DO NOT provide any info... NOTHING at all!
My Business Cell got a call just a few minutes ago and I don?t even own a car with any type of warranty what so ever.
Here is a nice site that has a script to follow when/IF they call you back and you answer it - http://telemarketinglawsuit.com/evidence-collection
IF you feel comfortable with this, I say try it. I mean, what can they do, they are on the other end of a phone line, hundreds, if not thousands of miles away. They are not going to make a personal trip to see you just for hanging up on them or making them feel stupid.
C'mon people, I?m sure thousands of people have looked at this site and have not done anything except avoid the calls... enough with complacency, take things into your own hands and show these f***ers they cant scam us!. . . . . or you can sit around and do nothing and just write about it on the internet.

Furthermore, DONOTCALL.GOV is for USA ONLY and WILL NOT work in this instance - This is a scam, NOT a 'reputable' telemarketer (and i use the word reputable loosely) who would abide by the do not call list.
For Canadians - http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/DNCL/brochure_consumer.htm

If you are receiving this call and concerned about the long distance charge, call your mobile provider, let them know you have been receiving the calls and request they remove that charge from your bill. 99% of the time they are happy to oblige.
----------------
I think what they are doing is using some sort of auto dialer. This will generarte random numbers following an area code. The person running this would enter an area code (403 ? Southern Alberta, Canada) for instance and then the software would generate numbers at random and call them. Providing you answer the phone call, the person/s involved now know its active and a legit phone number and will keep calling it till you hang up on them or actually speak to that girl who you get transferred too.

This kind of activity is called Phishing and is a form of Identity Theft. This activity is, of course, illegal in Canada and the USA however there are different law's governing this depending on where your are located geographically in your respective country/s.

You would think that the Telus', Sprint's, Rogers, T-Mobiles, Verizons, Alltel, etc would have something in place to stop this kind of activity but they do not, at least here in Canada.

I called Telus last night and spoke to management about this kind of activity. They told me that I HAD to change my phone number (there is no other choice) to avoid this but that there is not 100% that the calls will stop.
He informed me that they cannot stop or block a phone number from hitting their network and that this will probably get worse before it gets better.... Not what I wanted to hear from one of Western Canada?s leading service providers...

If you have received this call and want to try to stop it, please visit the following link. It is a Canadian Link but has some useful info for the people in the USA. Its related to ID Theft but has a lot of relative info that you can use and apply to this situation. http://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/prg/le/bs/phish-en.asp

ALSO - SPREAD THE WORD!!!!
PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING SO THEY WILL NOT BE AFFECTED!
PUT TOGETHER EMAILS TO YOUR FAMILY/FRIENDS/LOVED ONES ETC.
LETS GET THE WORD OUT!!!!!

They called, and I pushed the #1, as I was curious.  Then a girl transferred me through to a guy after getting my car year information, which struck me as odd, cause they called me, I figured they should already have it.  Then the guy asked how many KM I had on it, and if I bought it used.  I told him 100, 000 and yes, I bought it used.  He transferred me to "his project director" who said I sounded like a nice person, and they would open my file for me.  And how once they warranty expires, it is automatically deleted from the computer, as then people can not call later on, when their cars are breaking down.  I told him I understood.  He then transferred me back to "Adam" who told me what the warranty would include, and how it was transferable should I sell me car, all for the low down payment of $395, and $150 a month, interest free.  I told him I didn't like giving my credit card number out over the phone, which he said was fine, they can do direct withdrawal, if I'll just grab my next available cheque.  I then informed him I'm more against giving my bank number out over the phone then my credit card.  That when he was reminding me about all of the fraud protection there is on credit cards now, and how credit card companies can cancel fraudulent charges, it would be ok.  I asked for a number to call him back with.  It took some pushing and got 1-800-913-4558.  I haven't tried it yet.  But then he went on to tell me how they can not offer me this at a later date I needed to give it to him now.  I told him fine, I'll call him today, which seemed to confuse him.  He said again, they can not offer this at a later date, so I corrected him, that if I call back this afternoon, it's not a later date, it's the same date.  Here is where he became more insistent and told me I needed to give him my information now, as then I won't qualify.  He was starting to get more angry.  I told him I do not give my information out without researching first, and told him I'll call him later.  He hung up on me...  I called the police and now they are looking into this, as funny thing, the constables wife just received a call from the same number.  Hmmm.

Got a call from this number a few days ago.  It was an auto message indicating my car warranty had expired.  I nearly burst out in laughter as I DO NOT EVEN OWN A CAR! (I obviously hung up afterwords).

I decided to google the number (like the rest of you have) and found the same info - call made from Oklahoma.

I can guarantee you, I don't know a living soul in Oklahoma

The thing that really throws me off is that this call was made to my cell phone, (that is not listed) and I live in Toronto CANADA. Looking at previous post, I can see that many people in Canada are receiving these calls as well.

My only concern is how this company got hold of my cell phone number and how I can prevent receiving these calls all together.

I just had a missed call from them.  Others say that they are calling you about your car warranty from Oklahoma, but I'm from Canada and I never drove a car so I don't understand why they would call me.

Got a call from this number today.  I don't give my cell number out very often.  I am a little suspicious of Enterprise Rent a Car, since they called me on my cell with a follow-up questionnaire last week.  (That was the first unsolicited call ever on my cell number in 3 years of service.)  Anyone else used Enterprise recently prior to a call from this number?  I like Enterprise generally, but it they're responsible for this...
