This number is being used by scammers who call people who have lost dogs.  They offer to search for your dog for a price and promise results or your money back.  They do not have people who search for dogs.

Got a call from this number today.  He said that they have been getting signals from my computer that it had a virus.  He would like to help me take care of this problem.  I have to admit I told him a lie I told him I did not have a computer.  He hung up quickly.

I have received a call from this number and many other numbers from different states stating I have been approved for a loan.Sometimes they mention the amount and other times they tell you to call them back, most of the time I can't understand what they are saying or the name they tell you to ask for. I  just don't answer the phone and write on the numbers down even if they have called upteen times. I am up to 3 calls since last week Wednesday.  They just don't give up.

Got a call today here in Amsterdam (netherlands) from this number. I get these calls every couple of months from different numbers, sometimes a Tokyo number. Usually somebody who speaks with an Indian accent, claims that he/she is a microsoft employee and that my computer is infected or sends spam or whatever. What they want you to do is have them install something on your computer to remove a virus or so. Obvioulsy they want something else. I either hang up, or say something like, 'a moment please' and let them wait forever, or tell them I will forward the call to the police. (Depends on my mood).

They have called few times trying to take over my computer. We just make them sit on the phone for an hr or so... We tell them "oops the computer froze"
"Oh hold on its not working"... After an hr I tell them I own a Mac... They them proceed to curse and swear dropping a million "f bombs".

Have received many calls from this idiot! We hang up immediately now!
The message he gives is similar to those reported. A friend received similar calls and when she said she had his number and would report it, he hung up.

Had to missed calls from this number so insure as what they would be calling for but as everyone else keeps saying it's a scam what a bunch of t**ts trying to con people and somewhere in this country someone wil fall  for it !!!! They want finding the number that rang me I can find the name ect.. But you have to pay!!!

This woman is calling from New York, telling me my computer is broadcasting all my person information over the web, and demanding money to fix it.  

I am on the national do not call list and I am constantly getting calls from 1-585-243-9768.  I realize its a scam from Microsoft but it's rather annoying to have a man threaten you daily.

the caller id says payphone - I picked up was asked if I was the homeowner and then told they needed to access my computer - I said I do not understand you and If you are trying to sell me something I am not interested he said he wasn't and he needed to get into my compute - I said please stop calling here (I had a handful of missed calls this week from the number) and he said "no never hahahaha" scary!

got the call from a middle eastern type terrorist oriented individual. Said he was calling for Microsoft and their was a problem with my computer. I played along for about 30 secs trying to figure what he was up to then decided it might just have to do with my phone and keeping me on it. Gibberish, not intelligent speech or people. Got 2 more calls today from this number, came up on my tv as "pay phone". Some kind of scammer, muslim, possibly trying to raise funds to support terrorists. This guy would be more effective with a belt bomb strapped on him, something any idiot could be successful at, killing innocent women and children. Musxlim kooks.

Child's voice asking me if I am ever going to pay them back. Gives an Idaho number and they used my first name. I also am on a do not call list!!

Really people! this is getting extremely irritating.  A guy with a heavy India indian accent calls and wants to talk about my computer at least 3 to 4 times a week.  My instant prepared answer is "I don't talk to anyone on the phone about my computer" and hang up immediately.  The phone number shows up as out of area. by now I should know better than to answer the phone at all.  Next time they are getting my really rude answer.  

Recorded message stating they were from our bank (with the actual bank name) and said our credit card was locked until we proceeded to press 1.  Pressed 1 and then the recording asked for our credit card number.  We then hung up!

I thought this guy was from my provider, because his call came shortly after I had called the provider about computer problems....well, he nearly had control of my computer, after instructing me what to type in, etc.    I found out he was using a company name in Australia!    I called my Sheriff with all the info, but, he wasn't interested in pursuing it.   So much for that.   Today, I just hung up on the creep when I heard that accent and heard the word "computer".  Scam!!!!

I got a call from 708-409-4786 and a man with an Indian accent said I had a virus on my computer and they wanted to help me for free.

This number just called me at 11:22 at night saying that our computers were being hacked and that he was from Microsoft and it came up on my phone ID as a payphone. My boyfriend outsmarted him, he got panicky and left. He even said that our service provider was stupid. They had a Arabian accent. When asked about his name he was very hesitant and kept insisting that someone was hacking our computers. What a scam

Got a call from "Payphone 585-243-9768.  Guy sounded like he was from India, said he was with Technical Support and they had been recieving reports from my windows computer that I was downloading viruses and malware.  He never asked my name, asked if my computer was turned on, I said no, (I lied) he asked me to turn it on.  I asked him "what company are your from?" and he said "Windows service center, Microsoft windows service center." I asked how he got my number.  He said "survey department in your area gave me your number."  I don't do surveys, and if it was a survey how was he recieving data from my 'puter? My cell phone rang then, so I handed it to a relative to answer while I told this indian guy I had to go answer the cell phone, i would have to call him back, what number could I call him back at? he gave 786-600-1027.  Since he never verified my name, my OS, or phone number, since caller id came up Payphone, and since he asked stupid questions he shoulda been able to answer by looking at his own keyboard, I hung up with him and went to the Better Business Bureau's website and looked up both numbers.  They have to record of either one, so I reported them to the  Do Not Call registry.  I will not be calling him back.

Just got a call from this number... Said "New York" on my call display... She had an accent, the reception was terrible like they were far away, when she started to talk to me about Microsoft I stopped her and said not to bother me again with their scam.

Also, im Canadian and I live in Canada so I have no idea how they knew my last name and called me by my last name.

It´s a scam, trying to access your computer, support calling from Microsoft... since when ara support calling you? I´m in Sweden, one of my friends also had a call the other day.

They call me in Canada and no one speaks or says any thing.

this number has called repeatedly asking for my husband.  About a month ago they finally admitted they were calling from a safe pharmacy??  After I went through the your number is being reported as harassment, and if they called again I would proceed legally..then hung up.  The a$$hole actually called me back to say that he apologized the line was dropping, but wanted to tell me that I was a good wife..a good dirty wife!!!!! then he hung up! WTF, is there any way to stop this?  The numbers change regularly...area code 715, 585, 212...but they are all the same company?

I just got the same thing... indian accent.
