This number is from GOOGLE VERIFICATION.  If you have a GMAIL account or a BLOG this number sends you your verification number to do the 2 step process.  It's a way to PROTECT your account.

This number called at 5AM and I suspect that was to work around the fact that many of us do not answer calls likely to be strong arm solicitations or sales calls.  I this early hour I answered without looking at caller ID.  A recorded message said "thank you for verifying your phone number" and gave some meaningless  # code.

Is this a genuine google number for account verification or a scam network? I continually read both.

This number is part of a hacking network. Don't pick it up and don't give them ANY information. Also, If you notice anything else odd going on with your online accounts or phones.. Contact Law Enforcement immediately! I received this call when trying to login via Google two step verification. The number looked suspicious because its not what I am used to with 2 step verification. Unfortunately, I know that I have been hacked. This type of thing comes as no surprise to me.

If you got the call, but did not just try to log into your google account, then someone else did and THEY KNOW YOUR PASSWORD.  Just change your google password, then you will stop getting the calls except when you try to log in.

Have received multiple calls from this number, extremely early in the morning.

I keep finding the phone number on my phone. I have tried texting it with no response. I even tried calling the number back and all I get is a busy signal.

Now, I do use Google and Yahoo - gmail and Yahoo mail. As of lately I have been having password issues. For some reason the computer doesn't remember the password. This is something new and has never happened in the past.

No spam, just google veryfying that you are trying to log in to your email from a location other than your home computer.  If you are not,  then google just saved your email account from being hijacked.  If you recently deleted cookies, than you may get this call even if you are at your home computer.  you use the code as an extra step to log in then the cookie will remember it until you delete cookies again.  you also can get a text with the same code in it.

this number gives you a code as soon as you answer the call does anyone know anithing about it?

Had a car for sale and was sent an email from a "John Demere" offering to send a check for the price PLUS shipping.  He wanted my name and address.  I assume I was then supposed to send my check to the "shipping company" which is the normal scam.

That's google calling your phone with a 2-factor authentication PIN.  If you didn't request it then someone was trying to hack your google account.

Yeah, this was done by Google when I finally set up Gmail accounts.  Don't freak out and live in fear of a phone number.

Just a clarification.  Each time that that same number calls you, pick it up & and hang it up within 1 or 2 seconds.  Each # will take 2 or 3 attempts. I just wanted to clarify that.

Just pick it up and hang it up right away... like the tele-zapper, then its system thinks that it hit a dead # and eventually it deletes it from there system... like the tele-zapper.  It might call you back 2, maybe 3Xs but eventually that # will stop.  You'll have to do this for each #.  Now, I can't guarantee that this will work for EVERY # but probably over 90%.  I work as a CONSUMER ADVOCATE.   Give my  website a visit!  http://Moneyaddvocates.com.  And tell this to anyone you know so we can all get back to living in peace & put a stop to this _hit!!!
