It's Verizon warning us chronic procrastinators to pay up or they'll suspend service. This particular number only seems to be used if you have a 2 month old outstanding balance. It's evidently a universal # they use to contact subscribers of any and all Verizon services, not just wireless service.

This number is NOT Verizon Wireless. It is a scam artist. I got the call. They left a message, and it was the same exact message I got from different numbers in the past. Scam artists pass around the tapes for these calls. Several different scam outfits will use the same tape.
In my case:
1. They asked for the wrong person. It was a name I had never even heard before.
2. I am not a customer of Verizon Wireless, nor have I ever been.
I blocked the number on my iPhone...problem solved.

Spoofed Numbers: Caution, 585-371-3056 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain, but they failed... you can still file a complaint here to fight back against unethical telemarketers.
that number has also called me and ita a phishing scam a person pretending to be a company and to try and obtain your info. dont give any info and call your phone company to block the number. The number called me as an American red cross.
In my opinion, Verizon is one of the most annoying "contact you about payment" companies I've ever dealt with. As others have said they start calling you WAY too soon, and contact you WAY too often. It's not uncommon for me to get two text messages in addition to phone calls seemingly within a day of my bill becoming due, and that is preceded by text notifications that my billing date is coming, then arrived. Honestly, I find them so annoying that it sometimes leads to me paying late when I otherwise would not have, because the overzealous customer contacting irritates the hell out of me.

It is Verizon using this number.
They are expensive, hard to get rid of with contract and I would agree rude.
Having approximately 12 year relationship with them and it counts for nothing.
They always get paid by me, they always climb all over me for payment as well.
I intend to dissolve my relationship with them, I hope others are understanding

it is sub standard service. It is also twice as expensive as many new carriers.
Last month they called me after a financial arraignment was made during a funeral.
They actually called more then all the family members had called me during the funeral for collections and that
was with a scheduled payment for electronic check withdrawal and I explaining the funeral matter.
I blew up and gave them an ear full two days into the funeral services.
They just DO NOT care about anything but MONEY!
I assume this is debt collection and list it as such, I could be a courteous call...
I doubt that as they are financial hounds...only calls I ever get by them.
I've received a few calls from this same number in the past couple of days. I didn't answer because Caller ID says only that it's from Rochester, NY (I know no one in that city). In the meantime, I've also received two text messages from Verizon because my monthly bill is due today (we paid it two days ago). Maybe Verizon outsources these nuisance reminders to an outside agency. If so, then they ought to hear loudly and clearly from their customers that we don't like it.

I'm getting a trac phone for my better half and a Basic Talk for home. They are the most obnoxious folks I have ever met. I've made payments, ask them for their patience until our customers can pay on their accounts and
they insist on worrying the living hell out of me. I'm sick of their rudeness and stupidity. They are nothing more then aggravating A$$ HOLES I've had Verizon since they purchased GTE and I've never in my entire life had to deal with such jerks. Shame on them. I hope they rot in he!!!

MY account is charged automatically every month. SO itis not strictly for late payment, I hae had my account set up with automatic withdrawal for years. I got a call from the same number today on a land line, no name no answer. I look to this site to find information, and if the caller has a message that is important, leave it at the beep

I am disgusted with Verizon using this calling without providing their proper caller ID and I refuse to answer any calls when the caller ID does not include the person or company. Especially disgusting is the fact they do not leave a message when they call. Fortunately, my phone runs through my computer which gives them a recording from a different phone company out west which states the "number they have called can not be reached using the carrier they are using". I'll let them figure it out, although I doubt they call. I am in the process of going back to AT&T which is a much friendly and cheaper company to deal with----I never should have left.

And yes. This number 585-371-3056 is part of Verizon Wireless for those of us who are late or behind in payment.
To protect your "rights" against being contacted by VZW and others, it is probably a good idea to pay your service bills on time so they don't have to call YOU to get the payment you owe for the services you agreed to..
Verizon has called me several times from phone number 585-371-3056, caller does not leave a message, just calls repeatly every day evenings and day time. Extreamely rude that a message is not left and calls 24/7
less than a week late with payment and received 3 calls within an hour from Verizon, I believe this is harassment, isn't it the law that a bill cannot be pursured until over 30 days late? I will also say I have been a customer for over 20 years or more and never missed a payment. seriously considering switching!!!

This number came up on my phone as American Red Cross...it was Verizon.
I'm getting the same calls today. I think it's Verizon Wireless calling to tell me that I need to pay my bill asap. I also got 2 of the below text messages today. If you have a Verizon cell and got the payment reminder text messages then this weird number is only Verizon telling you they want money.

Couldn't take the call as I was working. Tried to call back but couldn't make out the name of the 'corporation' even after listening to it twice. Lame.
