Received several threatening messages from a caller from NY....caller ID indicated UNKNOWN.....but when I tried to call number back it just rings busy. The caller had thick foreign accent and indicated I needed to contact him immediately as I owed the IRS money and it would result in jail time if I did not pay. I can't wait for him to call when I'm at home and can answer.......I have a whistle in my drawer by the phone and I'm gonna burst his eardrum with it........

These b*****ds called my cellphone and left a voicemail today but the message was intended for my wife. Said they were from IRS and if she or her attorney doesn't call them back immediately, all he(the b*****d who called) could do was to wish me good luck as we would be in deep trouble !!! Let the a$$h... call me back -- this time I will pick up the phone as I know how to screw him this time....

We got a voicemail from this phone number re: a time-sensitive IRS matter and threaten to take legal action if we don't call back. They are obviously scammers and should be punished, especially since our number is listed in the 'Do Not Call' list. Hope innocent people don't fall for the scam!

Total scam. These predators like to pick on single women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community. They feel women especially are vulnerable. I don't think these IRS scammers use random calling techniques, I think they have their targets studied and picked out specially.
Ignore 'em.

Got the IRS phone call this AM, looking for me and wanted to talk to me personally, when I asked what about,.. the Pakistani/Indian/ "--- ----" said the IRS, "etc.etc,.etc"( said with the same accent Yul Brunner used in "The King and I"(,..and I responded, 'Gee that's funny, I WORK for the IRS, know we don't make phone calls, and with the latest of all budget cuts,..know damn well we don't work Saturday,... But I will take your reported number and report it to our State AG",..I got kinda a silence, and added "I'm sure you'll be hearing from them shortly" and hung up right after I added "A--H---! You know the old saying one good scam deserves another! But I may very well get a call from the ACLU stating I violated their rights and acted in a bigoted manner,...And this was the second one,..the 1st was from a local Dunkin Donuts location. Can you imagine? It could be the same people used as tech reps when we call asking for help with our confusors.

Got the "Officer Heather" scare recording at 8:45A on a Saturday. Computer generated voice (or masked). Caller ID came up as "YMAX COMMS CORP"

The caller gave me two different names to talk to at this number: Kevin Johnson and Dexter Cruz. He also mumbled his name, a James somebody.

Got two voice-mails this morning about my IRS income tax problem, then two more calls which I answered. The caller had a very thick accent and I could hardly understand him, then when I asked him to send a letter to me for me to understand my "IRS income tax problem," he got impatient and told me to call 585-633-1792. A few minutes later, he called again, this time very rude and pushy, asked me whether I had called this number. I hung up. Do not call this number.

Just received a call from this number, didn't answer but when I listened to the voice mail it was an electronic voice.
Is that suppose to fool people? Looked up the number and saw this posting and figured I would add my call in there as well.

I have an elderly mother who has dementia and alheimers disease and often gets these calls from all types of scanners including this one. Whenever I am asked for any type of number I always give out the same one it is U8126666444476. It drives them crazy but if I have their phone number I call them back and give it to them again. We should make it the Universal number for scammed replies. Use it for everything it drives them crazy. When you call their number always ask for Scam Ham. They don't like that either.

He had a heavy accent and said his name was "Aden Stanley". Called me yesterday afternoon looking for someone else. I took down his number but didn't call back because it seemed fishy. Called me again this morning saying his name was "Stanley". I wonder if he'll call again tomorrow.

Received a call today from 585-633-1792. A woman's voice on a recorded message, barely understandable. She said not to ignore the call and if I did they would begin restitution proceedings against me. At the end of the taped message, she said, "take care." This was the bell-ringer for me as a SCAM. Don't call them back. I have a family member who does work for the IRS and they do not ask for money, restitution or threaten to initiate proceedings against anyone on the phone, even if you happen to owe back taxes. This is an illegal SCAM. If you receive a call from this number, hang up and report it to either this website or to the IRS at the URL at the top of this page.

IRS Scam call 8:15 am on May 24th and 8:27 am on May 26th from 585.633.1792. Never answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. This "Officer Heather (whatever) left a message about legal action would be taken and must call that same number
to deal with an IRS issue. Off to file a complaint on FTC.gov.

Stephen Mack from the IRS called saying I need to call back, I owe. This idiot better stop calling. Even has the wrong name..used my nickname/Screen name. Um I'm sure the IRS has my real name and doesn't use my Screen Handle! LOL. 585-633-1792 why don't they disconnect this line, it's obviously a scam! Irritated.

Rec'd a message that was very difficult to understand due to the callers thick accent. This was supposedly from the IRS and asked me to contact my attorney and call the Darren Matthews at 585-633-1792. The call said there was a problem with my taxes and that I should not wait until fall or there might be legal action against me. Since I did not receive any written correspondence from the IRS, I do not believe this is a legitimate call.

They are scammers/extortionists working out of India. Being criminals they ignore all US laws. Call blocker might be your best bet.
This is an ongoing scam. Been around a while. See: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Warns-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam

I have received several calls from this number over the last week. Caller is so thickly accented he can not easily be understood. I quickly realized this was probably a scam because I doubt the IRS would use someone to call that could not be understood on the phone AND because he is calling me on a phone number that I never use. It is actually my mothers phone number that she has had for 40 years and there is absolutely no reason the IRS (or anyone else) would ever call me on that number. During one of the calls I told him I could not understand him and that I wanted to speak to his supervisor or manager. He hung up on me. In the call I received today, he left a message that this was my "last notification and that I must call back". I did try calling the number to see who would answer, but all I got was a busy signal. SCAM!!!!!

"Unavailable" called looking for my husband. He said he was from the IRS. Also, the connect was not good. I advised him that we file jointly and asked what he needed. His name was David Brown with a very heavy foreign accent from the IRS. He asked if I was aware of problems with my taxes. I advised him that if there were problems with our taxes, the IRS would write me. They would not make a phone call to me. I was asked to hold for his superior because it was extremely important to clear up the problem with my taxes.
A new voice comes on the phone also with a foreign accent and advises me that it is important for me to clear up the problem with my taxes. I told him that if there was a problem with my taxes to please sent me that information in the mail and we would address it based on the documentation received. I also let him know that I thought this was a SCAM and he hung up. The caller ID: Unavailable 585-633-1792
We have never received a directly from the IRS so I was not going for whatever they were trying to do.

Received a call at 6:00 a.m. local time, from the number 585-633-1792. Caller claimed to be with the IRS, (caller ID showed "YMAX COMMS CORP"), the man leaving the message said his name was agent Alex Arden or at least that's what I could make out through very broken English. Message says that he must hear from me or my attorney, then has the nerve to end the call with "you have a great day". (DUH!)

Received an automated voicemail this morning, stating that they were from the Internal Revenue Services. But my caller ID read YMAX COMMS CORP. I thought, well, this seems quite suspicious. The voicemail said, "Do not diregard this call and do call back. This is very time sensitive. Return the call before we take legal allegations against you." Exact words. I've heard about scams across the country and suspected this call be the same. I called them 4 times. 2 times gave me a busy signal and 2 times, it went straight to the voicemail. So I googled the exact number. Thank you 800notes.com! Turns out, there are several number with this 585 and YMAX. I have already paid all of my taxes and sure I don't owe anything. These calls targeting taxpayers are just really sad. Sad how they have to scam others to get paid. Here's a thought. Get a legitimate job and earn money without having to steal from the innocent. Be careful with calls stating such information like this. If you're unsure or just need to be sure, call IRS directly before making a huge mistake. Be cautious!
