calls and hangs up almost daily

Calls and hangs up. No message

585-647-5750 is the only thing that appears on my Caller ID for this call that has come in several times.  I do not answer it.  I have called back a couple of times and get a recorded male voice which does not identify who they are at all...only says "if calling regarding residential, press 1; if calling regarding business, press 2; if calling regarding advertising, press 3; if calling regarding administration, press 4."  I probably haven't indicated the exact wording - but it's close.  They even called on Memorial Day - which to me at least I see as a holiday.  Other times, they don't care if it's morning - noon - or night - they just call.  Sure would be nice is "some people" would go get a job and get off the dumb phone.

It is a person soliciting funds for American Legion from a location in Brighton, NY and she is very obnoxious.

Who is it?

I've gotten several calls from this number over the past few days.  I suspect it's a telemarketer.  I further suspect it's Marketing Squad (which received some bad press several months ago on a local Rochester news report).  If "Marketing Squad" were to appear on caller ID, i think most people would not answer the phone.  Their name does NOT appear on the 585-647-5750 number, but the DO know my husband's name, so i do suspect this is a telemarketer.

Received call on 1/9/11.  Said she was calling for the Association for Retarded People (to the best of my knowlege the term "retarded" has been abolished so I was on alert from the start.)  She then proceeded to talk to me as if we were old friends; asking how my New Year was, if me and my family did anything special, etc.  I responded by saying "Excuse me but do I know you?"  She was taken aback and said she was so and so from the Association . . . and  was just trying to be friendly and make conversation.  I told her she was being far too personal for someone I did not know.  She then tried to defend herself further by saying she just didn't want to be rude.  So I was rude and hung up on her.

I get calls all hours of the day.

I recieve this call everyday at least 2-3 xs a day ! Call them back ? Automated voice . I am blocking this number ! THERE OUGHT TO BE A WAY TO BLOCK THESE CALLS BEFORE THEY GET TO YOUR PHONE ! With all the money we spend on phone service , this should be included with out contracts !

Another scammer, another one for the blocked list.

I keep receiving calls from 585-647-5750 that do not leave a message on the answering machine.  When I dial the number back I get a female recorded voice who gives me options to dial 1 if you are residential, dial 2 if you are a business, dial 3 for advertising, and dial 4 to speak with someone in administration.  If you press any of the selected options it just starts the recording all over again and it runs in a loop.  The worse thing about it is that they never identify the company who is calling so outside of the phone number you have nobody to register a complaint with.

I received a call from "Anthony" Sunday, Nov 28 asking for my husband about a "business matter". The guy sounded rough and I got suspicious immediately. Googled it and saw these and other posts (Who Called Me).  My husband didn't recognize the # and I wrote a warning to others. Then I tried to get Call Blocking from Frontier, but it's not offered in ROC.  Today received a call from a woman calling for the American Legion...Told her we're not giving right now and hung up. When I checked the number I recognized it as the same number "Anthony" called from.  An earlier post here was also told it was the American Legion....This is a scam artist for sure. Be alert. Don't answer it. Or if you do tell them you know their game and have reported them to the police. We're going to alert the local TV stations to tell them this phone # is a scam and for especially elderly people to be careful.  Let's all petition Frontier to get Call Blocking here in Rochester.  That's the only way we can ward off calls like these.

I rec'd a call from this number today.....hope you are reading all the posts, because you just happened to call the wrong person and my Private Investagator is onto you.....laugh is on my not you sorry..

THE WORST!!!!!!  I hate these guys.  I pick up to scream and have them put me on their do not call list and it's a hang up as soon as I pick up.  I call them back and there's a menu that says they could not understand my number I press to get through directory.  Real poop heads!

So am I.  She hung up on me when I told her my son was currently serving in Afghanistan which is the truth!

This happened to me as well.  This outfit is not on the up and up.  Read the other complaints.

I think it must be a group of individuals conning people.  When I got called from that number it was about donating to the American Legion.  Others are receiving phone calls soliciting for "retarded children" (no one on the up and up would use that terminology these days). Someone else said it was from Frontier.  I think it's time to report this number.

Frontier of Rochester is calling to get customers. I just informed them not to call my number again! Put Frontier of Rochester in Google and the site will come up. Call their 800 number and tell them to stop calling or you will report them.

Have received 3 calls from this number and also 585-924-5813 looking for a Nora Jackson.  I explained I had had several calls this week alone with no one at my number by that name and I am on the Do Not Call list.  She apologized, but said they represented a Veterans Group and charities are exempt from the Do Not Call list.  A charity calling for this same person from two different numbers?-VERY SUSPICIOUS!

They call me from this number but ask for my husband, when I say he is not in can I take a message they say no we'll call later. This has happened several times from this number over the last month or so. It's very annoying!

I have gotten so many calls from this number in the past 2 weeks at least 28 calls sometimes I answer and the just hang up so I have stopped answering,HOW CAN I MAKE THESE CALLS STOP.
