Just keep an eye on your credit & your accts. I wouldn't be overly concerned though. I've had my eye on these clowns for a few months now. They're nothing. All hot air and not worth pursuing or getting worked up about. They are the poster children for junk & bogus debt buyers. They stand as an example of how junk debt purchase is likely to fail. When you employ sub-standard people in an attempt to make a gamble pay off, you should not be surprised when your gambles result in failure. They'll be gone soon and when they bail, they'll have to run fast & dig deep. Some very unhappy people with very unhealthy attitudes will be hot on their tail.
Live Well.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Beware---he's a scammer.  Don't admit to anything, especially your name.  Tell him you are a attorney or have an attorney, get his information and report him to FTC and your state Attorney General.  Be careful and stay calm on the phone.  This guy wants to get at your credit.

Don't let him.

FYI, his name is now Blake Montgomery, Check Systems, and all calls go to voicemail.  He's based out of Rochester, New York, and is a fake.  Please don't ever admit that you are who he thinks he calling, I.e., just say "wrong number".  Don't admits to anything and ask for his contact information so your attorney can contact him.

I got a call at 8:45 am answered it without saying anything because my number has been sold a few times before so I get phone calls asking for people I've never heard of.  Anyway, this guy said hello and hung up.  When I called the number back 585-730-6179, it went to voice mail with a message saying it was Check Systems (which was mumbled speech and hard to understand), a "dispute resolution alternative" and the offices of Blake Montgomery (real name?  Who knows?).  If this was legit, he would had a secretary making these calls for him.

The fact that the voice mail asked me  to leave a message tells me that this person/organization is a fraud and the phone number is not a real business.  If I had the time, I would investigate this bozo and shut him down.

Bottom line, this is a scam so please don't tell him your name or admit that he reached the right person.  Wrong number!

Check Systems has already acquired quite a following. And it's not the kind of fans they want. From the start they had hoped to imply some sort of affiliation with ChexSystems. Not a good plan.
They are bottom feeding PDL scammers based in the good ol' fraud capitol of North America, western NY. They won't be with us long. They've garnered some very unhealthy attention from some very unhappy entities with deep pockets. They'll be soon forced to change names and find new digs. Normal operating procedure for 3rd rate debt collection outfits. They might bear watching though. I've heard that the LLCs might not get them through this next restructuring with the usual aplomb.
Bogus debt collectors like to think that "A fool and his money are soon parted." A couple of years ago a fraud named Patel learned that the hard way. The clowns at Check Systems may soon wish that they had heeded the Patel warning.
Let's all wish good luck to Rochesters version of the "Buffalo-Boys". They're gonna' need it!

lMAO to all you idiots trying to scare people. First chexsystems does not contact you directly for debt. Chex systems is to let banks and other finacial institutes know if your a check bouncer, Do not pay these people any mind for they are just a illegal debt company using the usual payday loan tactics. I say let them come over my house and meet my .45
