thank all of you for this information.  I am trying to sell ring on craigs list and got a text from 585 857 9359 within 24 hrs of my posting for sale.  At first I said if you are interested lets talk, then found out these posts about scam, so i just sent person another saying better move on asap!  -signed single divorced unemployed Dad trying to scrap up some cash for his boys well being.  may you all get it "paid forward". thank you . thank you.

As I read the other comments I realized the same thing was happening so STOP communication with this number.  I posted ad on Craigslist and the texts started coming. Jerk

We have an item listed on Craigslist and got a text from this number today.  We called the number and it sounded like a relay service.  He text back immediately stating he is on an oil rig and not allowed calls but asked to pay through paypal.  Thanks for this sharing the info above!

Got the same thing today... sent it to ship and when they wouldn't give info for moneygram I called and stopped package my life was saved by Pass

Guy text me asking about item I have posted for sale. He wanted to pay with a paypal account that was not active or registrar with paypal. I was able to lock his internet IP from his phone in turn is registered to a secondary interface that has multiple registrar domains portraying to be paypal customer service. I submitted screen shots of his text and our conversations with supporting evidence with my claim to Pay pal, DC attorney Generals office, Craigslist.com and to the IP provider of his carrier. More-over this guy is a crook-scamer tied into a bigger scamming group. May things come full circle for him and his diligence and those that have been victimized by him and group be remitted their belongings and losses 1p fold.

Embarrassed to say this, as I consider myself a pretty intelligent person, the scum owner of this phone number scammed me.  The texts were identical to what's been reported above.  I really should have listened to my gut when reading texts and emails from this snake and seeing typos and incorrect word usage that it was not professional and the emails were not coming from PayPal.  Lesson learned:  I'm far too trusting.  Pretty sure he/she is enjoying reading about him/herself here.

I wish I would have seen this warning three days ago.  I just fell for this and idiot got away with jewelry of mine.

Got a text message from this number today at 4:30pm about an item I posted on Craigs list for sale.  I just posted it today and the text read: Hello there...is it still available for sale...? get back to me ASAP
Obviously I am not the only one the scam is targeting after reading all of the above posts!  I am removing my listing and reporting to the proper authorities!!!!   Sick and tired of these scams!

Thank you all so much for posting about this person. I just had the exact thing happen to me today with my Craigslist ad. So glad I looked up the number and came across these posts so I didn't waste to much time on this scammer.

Texted on my craigslist ad today... I was falling for it for a little while, but it's a SCAM!!!!

I just got a call from this scammer asking me if I still have the ring the to get back to him ASAP. I have an ad on Craigslist. I keep getting these text and emails from scammers. Weeding them out is only working because people like you post like this.

When I find these posts, I don't even respond because then they just go to your ad and report it. And all it seems to take is 1 jerk doing that and your ad is pulled. sickening.

this person is a scammer.  he tries to buy things of Craigslist with fake Paypal account.  Don't fall for it!!!

Just got the same Craigslist reply from this number for a ring.  Even gave an address of 10050 Andersonville Road, Clarkston, MI

They are still at it and with a vengeance!

I received the same text from the 585 phone number. I see stated you're only going to deal with cash and locals. Do you know where I can get more advice with dealing with these scams?? Thanks

Same thing here.  It appears Craigslist is rife with these jerks.  I have had one serious reply to a jewelry listing and about 40 phishing attempts now.  They all use the same form, too.  They must copy/paste the whole spiel all day long.

Selling diamond ring on craigslist, got a text from this number identical to the one listed above!  Do not respond this is obviously a scam.

Pretty much what Christian said is what was asked from me.  
1. The reason for selling
2. What is the current condition of the item
3. What is your firm price, though they're ok with the asking price
4. Do you have the original box, paperwork, and receipt
5. Do you mind if I pay through paypal and will add extra for the shipping.


It just felt "weird" when I read that. So from now on, only do business with locals and CASH ONLY!!!!
