Called 6 times this weekend. I answered 3 times. It beeps and then they state they are a research company and need to talk to an adult b/t the ages of 18-44 that is a registered voter to do a survey. I try to tell them to leave me alone and then the phone cuts out.

I have been getting this phone calls from this number. When I answer, the caller states it is survey. Each time they call it is the same person making the call. Calling my cell while I am working.

Received several calls from 586-625-1599 and didn't answer until last night. I ignored the 9:20 PM call and answered the 9:30 PM call so I could bawl them out. It was a robo call and I stayed on the line; finally someone picked up and asked for me by name. Said she was asking my opinions on something. I asked her if she REALIZED IT WAS 9:30 PM here and, yes, she did. Told her to never dial this number again. I checked the Better Business Bureau for Mountain West Research Center. They give it a "D+" rating on a scale of "A+ to F" -- with 63 complaints. It is not BBB accredited.

Have called numerous times, over several months, hand up before I can answer, but can see the name and #. They call at many different times, day and night. Never leave a message.

Has called a few times the last couple of days. They don't know the answering machine is on and say...hello...hello. I don't answer phone calls from scammers, surveyors, or anybody I do not know.
Shirley 2014-06-18 01:38:27 Political Call
586-625-1599: Political research. Woman talked fast, had to ask her to repeat questions. Questions were ambiguous and there were only black-and-white answers, nothing denoting that I hadn't yet thought about what party I was voting for and not interested in "Independent." When she got to statistical information, she wanted to know if I primarily use my cell phone, landline or a combination. I told her I didn't see the statistical relevance in that question and I didn't answer. I would steer clear. I'm waiting for the Illuminati to show up any moment....

Using info provided by previous poster "TV" and the link provided (thank you, TV) I found the web site for "Mountain West Research" at this link:

Their rationalization's, from this page, for bothering you (so they can make money off your info) is the usual self serving BS.
They claim to have a DNC list. If you call them at the # provided they claim you will be put on it. I tried (granted, after usual business hours, but they do say "day or night"), and got a VM for some guy named "Jesse". Will try them during the day and see what happens.
Amusingly, the auto menu you get when you call gives you several options, including reaching a shift supervisor if an employee is calling in sick. Maybe we all should call in sick.
It's seems I've been suddenly getting a ton of these type of calls the last few weeks. Spoofed or otherwise un-ID'ed #'s from "survey" and "research" companies that call, don't leave msg's and don't answer call backs. Really picked up lately.
The Federal DNC list needs to include all survey companies. Yeah, I know, good luck with that.....

If it is indeed Mountain West Research Center, here's what you can do about it (if they are sincere):

They keep calling me over and over, early in the morning and late at night. I hate them and I have blocked them.

Calls constantly. We're on the DO NOT Call registry. Though I know half these callers are calling from a ghost dialing program anyway. Getting fed up because they've called as late as 11 PM at night

Called me 3 times one day, 3 times the next and 2 times today. I answered yesterday 1st time they called and the guy mispronounced my name, so I told him he had the wrong number. Why does he keep calling after I tell him it's the wrong number?!?! Moron.

They are being blocked by NoMoRobo after 1 ring.
NoMoRobo (at NoMoRobo.com). This was the winner of the contest that the FTC ran last year. While not the best solution, it is a start. Check them out.
While 1 ring can be annoying it is still somewhat satisfying. Also, NoMoRobo's blocking frees up my phone's blocking list and my Verizon blocking list for annoying (so-called) charities, surveys, and political calls (which should be picking up again) from various right-wing crazies.
Note #1: You need to have "simultaneous ring" from your phone carrier. The website can check that for you. I use Verizon FiOS Digital Voice and "simultaneous ring" is included in my package.
Note #2: They block RoboCalls. Not political, charity or surveys. That follows the TCPA.
Note #3: If you get a call that is not blocked, you can go online and report it to NoMoRobo (See Note #2)

The Bush administration (sic) told the FCC "Hands off". Republicans cut their (and the FTC's) budget.

Hey I just got one of these on my phone yesterday??
Mya 2014-05-18 21:23:54 Unknown
I have been receiving calls from this area code for the past 3 days. When I picked up today, and didn't say anything there were just automated beeps on the other end. Thought I would just press a number (about 50 times) and make beeps back, since there was no voice. I'll add this to my do not call list. Normally I pick up then hang up.

Totally bogus organization. Very evasive when questioned. Definitely *not* Mormons (the other people who keep calling me unsolicited lately). Almost wish it were Mormons, at least they are polite when they try to sell me stuff I don't want or need.
Sue 2014-05-13 22:59:54 Unknown
Called my mobile and home phone several times without leaving a message. I finally answered and it was some "research" company (caller rushed through the name and was evasive about telling me why she called). I told them I was not interested and not to call back. A day later, they have called my home number twice and just now called my cell phone again.

This number calls my elderly grandfather's cell phone continuously. They sometimes call 4 or 5 tines, and have also called after legal hours. I've called back by blocking my number. It's answered, and you hear 2 beeps, and they hang up. SCAM

Called my cell, said they were calling from Mountain West and asked for my husband. When I said he wasn't there, they said ok. I asked if I couldg give him a message, she said no and hung up.
