Funny, I just gor a call from this Linda about an hour ago.  Claimed one of her associates had my info stored and I looked like a great candidate.  i was looking for work over a year ago so it is possible that she got my info off an old resume post on MI Works or something.  I notice the 2 previous posters above me were just called this afternoon too.  HA.

Got a call today. Linda left a message with no name of the company. Googled her and the phone number. Thank you all for your posts. Saved me a headache. I will block the number with my phone company.

I just spoke with Linda Barrows and had no idea how she got my number and only got from her that she is calling from Primerica. She did set me up to come in with a group and to bring my resume. I immediately got online to see if I could find anything on this Linda and I'm glad I found my answer........waste of time!!

Rec a call from this number with the name given as Keisha stating she reviewed my resume and wanted to know if I was still interested in full or part time employment her company had multiple openings and to call her back if I was interest. I called and was sent to Voice mail that stated this is Keisha and Brenda please leave a message and we will call you back. Strange no company name nothing just like a home phone voice mail. Needless to say I did not leave a message and I believe that these people are affilitated with Primerica. This is not the first time I have received messages like this to find out they are Primerica some of these Primerica offices are listed with just the founder's names or sometimes you will get lucky and they will state they are from PFS never stating PFS is Primerica Financial Serivices. If you are interested you will be invited to a group meeting and then a one on one where you will find out you need $278.00 worth of classes and Insurance licenses and once you make your first few sales to your friends or relatives you will be reimbursed they say.
Nothing against this company it works for some but I do not like when people call about potential employment and not state who they are affilliated with and in this case there voice mail doesn't either. Best advice if the caller does not state there name, company they work for and how they received your resume. Then as dissappointing as it may be do not waste your time hang up and delete the message. This is waht I did and saved another trip to another Primerica group presentation that I am sorry to say I have already seen twice technically three if driving in and out of the parking lot when I noticed PFS on  the sign underneath the partners names.
There are legit jobs out there just stay positive and look for the job not a job and be thankful for the things you have. Seek and you will find.

I too received a message on my phone from Linda Barrows, regarding her interest in my resume.  I did not call her back, simply because I found it rather suspicious that Linda did not state the name of the company she works for.  Anyone with common business-sense knows, the very first business etiquette rule is to ALWAYS name the company you are working for when doing business with anyone for the first time.  If Linda Barrows does not know this very first and most important business etiquette rule, is she really qualified to be doing any type of business sales job for any company.

Any reputable company would not employ any person in a sales position, that unscrupulously hides the name of the company from anyone they are looking to do business with.  The fact that Linda does not mention the name of the company she is working for in her voice-mail messages, leads the average person to believe that Linda is business senseless.  Or, Linda knows she is working for a company that the public had perceived to be a "shady" business, and therefore she also knows, no one with common knowledge would be foolish enough to return her phone call.

What I would really like to know is, Why hasn't our U.S. government put a legal stop to these types of calls?  I would also like to see a law written that would render any fake job advertisements illegal with an automatic monetary fine attached to the law.  I have noticed many contract companies that place intentionally FAKE job advertisements, that only serve the purpose of filling their computer databases!

In the United States current down-economy, I find it very disrespectful and rude that any company intentionally, irresponsibly, and unjustly wastes a job seekers time by posting fake advertisements, never meant to hire someone in the month that the advertisement is made public.

I received a call from this Linda Barrow that asked if I was still looking for part-time/full-time work.  She said she had reviewed my resume so apparently she is getting her information from a legitimate source, because I do have a resume with Michigan Works and Careerbuilders.  When trying to call back for better directions no one answered the phone and I could not find anything about this address that she had given me.  Sounds like any other scam where people are praying on desparate people.  Thanks for all the information from this forum and giving me a heads up.

I see this Linda Barrows is still with Primerica. She left a message on my answering machine yesterday to call a 248 number for part-time work "if I'm still interested". I have no recollection of talking to her in the first place? She also didn't leave the name of her company. I only found that out when I called the number and got her VM stating she was with Primerica. I tried calling her twice and got VM both times. I didn't bother leaving a message because something looked fishy so decided to do a net search for scams. I got a boatload back on Primerica, and this one with her name in particular! It's always job seeker beware nowadays.

I have received a few messages from Linda Barrows. She calls from this number and then says to call a 248 number. I am wondering the same thing as everyone else. How did she get my phone number. Then I started thinking about places I had my resume posted for example Michigan Works, Monster ect. I think she is getting the numbers from these places. Has anyone called back and spoken to her? Is she from a legit business?
