Was not home when they called, and didn't leave anything on my machine.

Was not home when they called.  No message was left.  I called the number back and all it did was ring.

I get those calls too! I wonder what "wpi" stands for? I always think private investigator when I see p.i. or maybe phone irritators! LOL. I DO NOT THINK IT'S A TELEMARKETER! They usually leave a message, or have an operators/machine voice, plus I am on the do not call list. I wonder if we all have something in common like our phone service carrier? I am in Michigan as well as others listed on here.

I have had the same call - from W.P.I. only my last four were different. I was wondering if it could possibly be testing a phone tap?? I personally have no rational reason for a tap (I've never gotten more than a speeding ticket) but maybe because of someone I know??? Or the wrong person?? It would seem if there are all these hang up calls then telemarketing would not fit the bill. I dunno. Anyone have any ideas if it could be a tap???

This number called me on May 21, 08.  I saw WPI on the ID and was hesitant to answer it but I did and all I got was silence.  Very annoying.

Same as above. I picked it up and nothing there. W.P.I. is listed as a fundraiser....maybe for someone's construction co.

I received a call today -I had several calls last month with no message -  I did picked up & someone asked for me by name & started to tell me they were a construction/remolding company working within the area - I cut him off by saying I'm on a No Call list - he apologized and started the sales pitch again - I figure he's a slower learner and tried a second time - I'm on a No Call list - what part of this don't you understand? and I hung up ... goggled to find I'm not alone

Also received two calls from this number today. No message was left as is the case of the other posters on this number re: this call. I'm also in Michigan.I wonder if it's a political SALES call from one of the presidential candidates lackeys.

Got calls from this same number 4 days in a row. No message left on machine. Tried to call it back but it rang and rang and no one answers.

I keep getting the same calls. I called information and i was told that numbers that start with 880 are from a home.  When i try calling them back, it rings forever and no one answers.  Not sure what they want or who, but I wish they would stop calling.

I just received the same...a hang-up as soon as answered.  I typically ignore these kinds of calls but this time of year seems to bring out not only the best in people but also some true creeps and I was suspicious enough to google.  Hope someone can answer the who/what
