At 1:47pm May 15, 2014 I just received a phone call from 587-887-2154 which was the Canadian Police Association raising funds to stop cyber bullying.  I was asked if they could count on my support.  I said its a good cause but needed to research the group before I would pledge anything.   I asked if I could get their web information to check them out, along with a number to call them back so I could discuss with my husband if this is where we want to put out money... he was quiet but I could still hear him, and then the line went dead.  My suggestion, DO NOT donate to this company.  Donate to groups you know... there are so many good causes... and there are so many right in your own circle!!

I received a phone call from this number and yes he told me that it's in behalf of the Police Association and something to do with school bullying. I refused as I'm not comfortable doing donations via phone but they keep on calling here approximately once or twice a week which is annoying so I just ignored it.

Could you call the Edmonton Police Service back and inform them that the 'national police association' is not collecting money but that this scam is being carried out by incredibly cheeky criminals....cheeky for pretending to be police. Had you 'donated' your money would have gone directly into the pocket of some career criminal.

I just got a call from 587-887-2154 and I've pressed star 60 then I pressed the number sign key 01 and the number sign key and blocked the number! Anyone can do it! It blocks the last number from calling you!!

Called this am but no name just a number displayed as both name/number. We also have call ID so when this is shown we do not p /u nor did they leave any message. LOL

"I just called the Calgary Police Service and they confirmed that this is a scam. Do not answer calls from this number and do not give them any money!
It's amazing. The gut is so trained. He speaks as any of those trained telemarketers. Do not believe what he says."

I have been getting calls from this number everyday but thanks to my phone I blocked it it rings only once and disconnects.

Maybe we should seriously mention this number to the police so they can investigate.  Based on everything I read, it sounds like a scam alright. I think they try to take advantage of the simple minded (mentally handicapped) or seniors who are mentally vulnerable. Scams mainly target these two groups of people unfortunately. It's truly sad.

These guys called me a few times already as well. It's harassment if you ask me. If not, it's causing a disturbance by being a constant nuisance. If I don't return the call, or you don't know HOW to leave a freaking message, I have two words for you - STOP CALLING. Better yet, BUZZ OFF.. We need to petition the Federal government over this kind of crap of getting consistent numbers consistently calling us and being a nuisance. They are abusing their privileges. Then again, what am I talking about? The government won't do anything, UNLESS it's happening to THEM. Then it's an entirely different story.

This number calls all the time, usually no one answers and when they do they tell me the anti bullying police donation crap, I tell them no I don't donate money over the phone, and ask them politely to stop calling... And two days later they start calling again! Pisses me off especially when the phone wakes a napping kid for nothing!!!!

I work in a dental office, this number calls here frequently and is a recorded msg, there is no one actually there on the other end its all pre-recorded.
I usually just hang up, but I hope no one falls for this.

Called me at 1PM on Feb25/2014. I didn't receive the call and he/she didn't leave any message.

I've had this caller before as well, an actual person claiming to be calling on behalf of the Police and asking for $300, $200, $100 donations. But I've also received calls from this very same number, that were nothing but recordings. These usually either say that it was Airmiles calling, and I've been chosen to receive 250,000 reward points. Or it starts with a ship's horn blaring, saying I've won a trip.

It was getting annoying to be receiving these calls on a daily basis for about a year straight. One day I turned-off my answering machine, and saw the call display only show this number once. I left my machine off for about 1 week. A slight inconvenience, but worth it because for about 2 months I never received another call from these annoying scammers. Only recently have they started again.

What I think happens, is their computer program detects if someone answers - or if a machine picks up the call - then that number is locked into it's dialing sequence and it will call everyday. If nothing and no one answers, then that number is removed for a time - at least until the computer makes it's way through the phonebook again.

Had this call moments ago. My husband received the same call earlier today. The recording identified the caller as Paul Bailey with the Calgary Police Service. When I asked if it was a real person or a recorded message the greeting was played again. When I asked another question the recording asked "Can I ask you one question before you let me go?" I said, "Very intuitive, I was going to let you go." I heard laughter on the other end then the caller hung up.

I just called the edmonton city police they informed me it's the national police association who is collecting these donations. Really doesn't matter who asks for that kind of money over the phone? They tell us all the time not to do transactions over the phone you think they would just mail something out with proof of who and what they are

So annoying! Calls me four times a day!

Didn't bother answering

This number calls twice a day, everyday, same time for the past 6 months.  This is a new number for the "cops for kids" . Last year was a different  number but same organization. I have never had anyone bother me this much!

This number called didn't say anything,so I called them back and I got an answering machine. I left my name and number and asked to be removed from their calling list. I also gave them the number to the closest police station and told them I will be contacting that particular number if they call again.

This number calls every day and when I do answer no one is there. Very annoying and quite frightening when I am alone.

Have been getting calls from this number on and off for the last 12 months they never say who they are except once when my eldest answered and they asked for us by name. Had written the number down as thought it was someone I knew but now I usually just ignore it

I also just got a call from this number and they never leave a message and they just keep calling so Frigging tired of it
