They talk to you like you owe them money. Asking for you to pay more than you can afford. I told them I would pay a 100.00 she said that was not enough. I figure something is better than nothing. Now I will file bankruptcy and they won't get a dime. Thanks to her attitude.

If you're not comfortable giving your social, we will get your name and or account number, but will have you verify the last 4 of your social, as that is required for identification and protection services. Not a scam. If you have doubts you can verify our # on our website before calling.

Actually, the 601-208 prefixes are usually Trustmark numbers.  And the different number you may have gotten may be a 2nd line (which we all have, and some departments is the first line).  Or may be the general customer service/collections/mortgage toll-free line.  I know my 2nd line at work (not connected to the 888 or 866 or 800 #s) starts with 208.  And the social is generally the first way we try to ask for to locate accounts, since it is easiest, especially if you don't have the account number.  Accounts can also be located by phone number.  It just depends on what kind of account you have that determines which actually number calls YOU, as in collections we have several numbers for the different areas of collections.  And if you don't have an account with TNB, just call in and say so and give the phone number that was called and it can be corrected!  So this is very well legit.  Yes, I work for Trustmark Special Assets/Collections.

And actually, now that I think about it, 6012082582 is the general, local number for customer service that often shows up (which may now be different as the phone lines have been worked on).  And yes, first thing they ask for is social/account number.

I got the same recorded message, requesting that I call them back (at a DIFFERENT number, interestingly). I didn't bother.

Is this really a collection agency? Are they really Trustmark Bank or are they just using Trustmark Bank's name? Maybe Trustmark Bank would be interested in learning about this...

Left Message and then when I called back, asked for my SSN number.  I told him I don't give that number over a phone.  He then said he could not do anything without it.  I stated you guys called me (thinking they were a real bank looking for more customers), and I don't give a sh*t.  Then hung up.  I now know they are a collection agency, just fishing for someone.
