I pressed 1 and all I got was chatter between operators and they hung up on me by accident or they are doing it and perforing a scam called it back and got got aa message saying the local voice subscriber is not available please leave a message

You can just about forget hitting "3" to be removed from your list.  I was getting
3 calls a week from "Rachel" from Credit Card services.  Now they are from the
601 are code and a new person "Bridgette" is the "caller."  I pressed "1" to
talk to a live representative and asked to be removed from their call list ~ they
simply hang up.  But what really works.........get a whistle and blow it into
the phone the minute you get someone after pressing "1".  Eventually they will get the
message, which they don't if you simply ask them to remove you from their call list.

i have no credit cards  but they keep calling me.  the guy asked me what % of credit did i Owe  and I told him 0  and I had no credit cards.  then he cused me out

got a call, no message and when i called back, i got a recording stating that the number isn't available . . . . .  hmmmm it was available to call me !!!!!

Just got the call - did not answer and they did not leave a message.  Wish there was something a person could do about these types of calls.  Constantly getting them - everday from 978-570-2446.

This seems very shady! I asked for a number to call them back later and I was given 1-800-508-4918 and it asks you to wait on the line for an operator. I was not given a specific credit card company name, but the phone connection seemed strange and so did the caller. I am not telling these people anything!

Just got a call, they left voicemail about lowering my interest rate but did not leave the name of the company.  Hope they do not call again.

Yeah I called them back too. I left them some funny voicemails. The cool thing about google voice is that it sends them an email text transcript of what you said in your message. One of my messages said I reported them to the FBI.

I have been getting calls from these people for 6 months now. I always push 1 to talk to them and see how long I can keep them on the phone before they hang up. I never give them any personal information, just fake stuff. So far my record is 55 seconds. Can anyone beat that? It's fun wasting their time like they are wasting ours.

Also this message seems new. You now have the number 3 option to take yourself off the list. I highly doubt that is the case.

Another interesting note. If you call it back you get a google voice voicemail account. Previous numbers never worked. I left them some interesting voicemails.

Just got a call from this number as well(11:37 MST), did not pick up and glad I didn't after seeing all of these posts about it.

I just got this call at about noon central time on 8/11/2011 to my cell phone (which is on the DO NOT CALL LIST.)  It was the same recording about lowering a credit card interest rate.  The recording didn't identify the institution/company.  I pressed "1" at the prompt to speak to someone.  When someone answered the phone, I immediately asked what the name of the institution was.  After I asked this question, they immediately hung up on me.  Definitely a scam if they won't even identify themselves.

just got the call from this number, not answering it because not knowing who that is. don't like unknown calls. stoping calling.

Called my cell phone.  Didn't answer as no name on caller ID.  No message left.

I dropped my landline and went to wirless only, now for some reason everyone has my cell number,I dont answer my cell anymore unless the caller id knows who it is

Got a call on my cell number which I rarely give out. Interesting spin on this type of scam: "Hey, we spoke last week about lowering your interest rates and I think I've found a solution..." The recording sounded very convincing.

I answered and got a recorded message about "my credit card account".  They wanted me to call them at another # to get a new interest rate.  Yeah, right.

Do not answer this, obviously a scam. Also, DO NOT PRESS 3 TO take your "name off the list"- typically, all this does is confirm to the spammer company that there is, in fact, someone on the other end of the line, and if anything, you get MORE calls. Or, Worse, sold to others as a confirmed active line.
