I have gotten calls from this number. Some are legitimate and some have been scams.Legitimately I have been contact through this number by AT&T and Wells Fargo Mortgage.I have also received calls about pay day loans I did not take out.Lately it has called the house but only rings once or twice.

This number wakes me up before sevan am. Please stop

EVERY NIGHT!!! We are ont he do not call list but it doesn't stop...HELP!!

We get calls from this number every night and we are on the "do not call list" If it doesn't stop, we're suing someone!

They call both phone lines 10-12 times a day.  It is entirely disruptive and I can't even get through to actually talk to someone.  Every time I ask to be connected, it hangs up.  I've tried the call block feature on my phone and it will not block the number.  Totally frustrated.

I think mine is the best, I got this one at 3:15 in the morning.  A call at that time is usually tragic news, not a sales call.  Wish I could tell someone.

I've gotten calls from this number several times over the past several months, sometimes on Sunday morning. The caller ID says "Privacy Director" and I usually don't answer anonymous calls. I also have voice mail and sometimes, there's an indication that a message has been left, but when I call my voice mail box, it's only a series of beeps and no message.

Received call from this # 7:56am Fri morn 8/17/07. Second time to receive call from this # in 2 weeks.  Three choices were - 1)answer, 2) sales reject & 3) ignore. Pressed ignore.  Immediatley called back.  Three choices again but heard a familiar voice sayng "hello" after last choice.  Pressed answer & had conversation.  This call was coming from Ireland.  Don't know if this helps anyone, but that was my recent experience with this #.

I have gotten calls from this number and finally since I am going through a bankruptcy, I decided to answer it so I could let them know they can't get any money out of my if it was a bill collector.  And I was right.  The man calling was obviously foreign, but he is calling from within the US.  He was calling me about an old Columbia House DVD Club membership that I had defaulted on.  So, You may owe a company that uses their Collection Agency.  The number is coming from an agency called "NCO Financial Recovery Systems" or something like it. I know the NCO Financial part is correct.  They are a collection agency, but they use unscrupulous practices to try to get you to pay them. Even after I had told him of my disability, bankruptcy and given him my case # and lawyer's info, he still harassed and CURSED at me several times. He said he was damn sure of something that I couldn't even hardly understand what he was saying. I got mad and told him to not call me anymore, he is not supposed to since I am in the midst of a bankruptcy, and I told him to have a "nice f@#&ing day" and hung up (whihch is not at all like me).  My lawyer is taking over from here so I have no intention of talking to them again.   Oh and by the way, the man I spoke with was obviously Indian or Arabic or something but he said his name was "Steve Martin". Very funny, huh?

This call is orginating in Jackson Mississippi.  Could be from a cell phone/ or a local business phone. Had this number added to my blocked list

This number calls me at all times during the day and night. I have called back and got their mailbox. Then I called and got someone just holding the phone. I am sick of them calling me. It is very annoying since we have a 7 month old grandson, it wakes when the phone rings. I just want some peace.

I would really like to stop these calls.

This is a debt collector number and a woman with an Enlish accent speaks and you can't understand what she is saying and I hit reject and it keeps on continuing.  Someone has used my number from a forward number and we can't get this to stop.  

Have no idea who they are calling for, but it's definitely a wron number.

What steps do I need to take to stop these calls, I am getting several a day.

I got a call showing privacy director. I answered and it was and automated voice that said this was for  a person in my family (said her name).  I did hit 1 to accept but no one said anything so i just hung up.

It's an AT&T and Bellsouth service. Read more on it here, as I think they should remove the service since I was called by a legit place, but it was "denied". It appears to be in a small device, which is odd why were all receiving it too. Link:

I too am harrassed 2 or 3 times a day from the 601-982-4083.  The number shows up as privacy director on my phone because I do have this feature.  I don't know who they are. But I am ready to call the police or somebody to report this number.  I am going to call my phone company to see what I can have done.  I am sick of the calls I have been getting them for almost a year now.

get this number on my caller ID, with 3 choices but none will get
a live person.  I have punched all three choices # 1 choice to answer.

These people call me 3-4 times a day every day.  It is most annoying.  Anything you can do to stop them would be appreciated.  I am signed up for the Do Not Call List!

This is your privacy director that you have on your home phone through you local phone service - AT&T.  It is not a prank call.  Calls coming to your number that are not identified - such as from a call center or sometimes through a switchboard are "blocked" with your privacy director.  The caller is given the option to leave a message announcing who they are and the nature of the business.  Then, privacy director calls you and give you the option as to whether or not you want to answer the call, reject it, or ignore it.  You should always answer these calls, the person on the other end cannot hear you or talk to you unless you opt to accept the call.  It's a great service.

I too have received calls from this number... I signed up for the Do Not Call List..Sales calls should not be coming to those who signed up for this list.

We get a call from this number at least once a day. If we try to pick it up, it goes to a recorded message to press one, that doesn't work and the call is disconnected. We can not tell them to quit calling this number!
