I recieved a fax offering discounted life insurance. No company name is slisted. The form asked for alot of personal information and the fax number to return the form is 602-218-8423, which is the same number I received the fax from. To request my fax # be removed the number provided to call is 888-261-0323.  I believe this is a scam.

They call up to twice a day or more , when my dad answers they say nothing and when i answer they start saying their fraternal police & my parents are annoyed and they tell me to say noones home and then they go around saying 16 year olds cant be home alone and they are the police and a bunch of bullsh*t.

Caller ID said our City and State. Person used my name, said "thank you" and hung up. I called it back and recording noted "Fraternal Order of Police" as other people have also noted.

Received call from 602-218-8423 - says Fraternal Order of Police - I am sick of these phonies - this is probably another 3 percenter - for every $25.00 you give, they give 75 cents to a cause and pocket the rest - I try to give to real charities and not phony fund raisers

Got the "Phoenix PD donation" call today.  Just act slow, then stop answering at some point, it works really well:)

They claim to be the police department asking for donations.  The number is 602-218-8432.

they keep calling and hanging up...its late at night and i want to sleep but the this person keeps waking me up

Total scam.  They mention FOP along with disabled veterans, orphans, abused animals and whatever.  I'm already a member of FOP and that's only $35/month, while these scumbags say $175.  Ask for their address and they'll hang up on you.  Good rule of thumb when getting questionable charity calls.  Ask for an address and a callback number and say you'd like to Google them first.....

I called this number back and got a recording that said it was the Fraternal Order of the Police.  Must be fund raising...

My question is how do they get our numbers?  My number is unlisted and I am on the National Do Not Call Registry.  Anyway, I blocked them both with my phone service and on my home phone system.  

Thankfully, my wife never got the call or she would have donated.

Called on sunday rang 2 times when I picked up the phone no one there

Got a call from this number (602-218-8423) today, 21-Jul-2011 @ 4:10pm on my home phone in Tempe, AZ which has been listed on the Do Not Call List of the federal government.  There was a delay of about 5 seconds before the call dropped in to a phone representative's extention followed by heavy background noise of other people talking for a second or two before the representative spoke.  He asked for me by name, correctly.  My phone is listed in the local phone book so that is where they may have gotten my number.  I remained silent and the representative hung up.

I called the number back and got a second or two of music then the other end hung up.  I did this numerous times until I got a recording that indicated this was a call for the Phonenix Fraternal Order of the Police Lodge #2.  They gave a toll free number to call to remove my number from their list.  That number was 800-509-7494.  You must call this number from an unblocked phone from the line that received the solicitation call.  Listen to the message and towards the end you will be given an opportunity to press 9 to have your number removed.  Their computer will read back your number so you know they have it correctly.

I can't validate their claims to remove my number, or yours, from their system as I just completed this process but it does seem to be a step in the right direction

This is the Phoenix Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 2. When I answered, the line connected but they promptly disconnected. When I called them back, They gave an 800 number as referral. Still sounds like a scam.

I keep getting a call from this phone number. I do not even answer anymore. It is a rude person who probably has no affiliation with the Fraternal Order of Police. As far as I am concered these people can fly themselves to the Andromeda System and stay there forever.

The Police dept won't call for donations. This person that called with that number , sounded like a scam, Tried to get my husband to give them his debit number. The police dept doesn't do that.

ANNOYING!!!  I keep getting a phone call from this number, they doen't say anything, just hang up.

They called from this number 2 times today and it is getting annoying. 3:35 p.m. and this morning.

This was a man saying he was calling for a police charity and tried to get me to commit
to a certain amount of donation. Very fast talking and smooth. I reported it to the police
internet detail.  I was concerned because the guy had my name and my number is unlisted.
They replied that they do not solicit that way and that my info could have been purchased
from pizza delivery, etc.  Scary.

These types of calls are scams.  The police do not solicit money from people (nor does the fire department).  They call themselves the Fraternal Order of Police to sound official.  These folks get numbers from other scammers - they pay for these lists in the black market.  The people they get to make the calls usually know going into this that they are part of the scam.  If not, they quickly learn that it is a scam.  Any money you give to them goes straight into the pockets of the bad guys - with the callers making a percentage.  They may send you some sort of decal for you to put in your car windshield (saying "I support the police" or something like that - the next time you see one of these on a car, you will know the person in the car was duped).  These cases are occasionally prosecuted in federal court - but it is sort of a hassle since the police agencies have to get a wiretap to prove that the calls are being made and what was said.

Well, I see it been about a year since the last post concerning this phone number (602-218-8423), Howeverf, I got a call today (12/26/10). I didn't answer the phone and the message left was blank, other than a loud noise in the background.  Wish I had something I could send in return....

I answered, they asked for me, I said I wasn't there and asked to take a message, the guy said that it was a thank you call, I couldn't get anything else out of him.

"He" called at 8:30pm and got message machine. Said, "BOB?" my husbands name and hung up. While he was talking, faintly in the background  I heard a female voice saying, "Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused". What  a bozoo

The Phoenix Police have been on the local television warning people that it is not their organization/police department soliciting for donations. The spokesperson said it is a call center scam artist.
The same scammers did this last year around the same time.

*****Got a call from this number.  It the so-called Fraternal Order of Police.  ********Saw a spot on a news station here in Phoenix and they said...IT'S A SCAM.  THE POLICE DO NOT GET DONATIONS THIS WAY!!!!  Once i knew it was the FOP...I played with the guy for as long as I could (LOL); before I told him I knew what this was and the Phoenx, Glendale, Scottsdale, Tempe etc Police does not solicit for funds EVER.  He hung up.  If you get the call again and have a little time to waste...waste their time.  Let them think they got one on the hook and then let them go. Life is sometimes fun.

got the same call.  said they're calling local business looking for donations. they're pitching seats to the diamondbacks games along with some advertising.  guy sounded like a Brooklyn thug trying to do a shakedown for cash.

there are several locations for the "Fraternal Order of Police" within the greater Phoenix Metro area.  Google it.  While they seem legitimate, there's better ways to go about soliciting.

Just got the same call..Very nasty and pushy. When I said that can't help anybody right now yelled that "Just you wait when you need police"...I hung up
