I'm not defending anything or anyone. I'm just simply stating that the trips are VERY much true. Visit the office, there are pictures of all the trips. The drawing is also very true. Its 4 times per year. The vacuum is great and the calls to the manager are true. Just like car sales, they can drop the price, they are the MANAGER. And the managers are trying to help the salesmen win their trip with more sales. They have gone on cruises, Hawaii, Mexico, Vegas, Reno, Mexico cruise, Cancun, Tahoe and many other places. The price is high, but go buy a
vac, a carpet cleaner, a bug sprayer, a paint sprayer, a leaf blower, a can of computer key board
cleaner, a ceiling fan duster and a ladder to
reach it, a hard floor sweeper, a hand portable vac
, a window blind duster, a broom to get ur cob webs down, windex and rags to wipe all the dust you're gonna blow around off your tvs, entertainment center, tables, etc.... and more dish soap to wash every dish in your house before you use it cuz of all the dust your walmart vac  with a one inch hole is blowing around and tell me how much your bill is!!!!! Get the warrenty with all those too if they are offered cuz most of it won't last any linger than a year.... DONT FORGET the storage cabinet for all of that stuff too..... kirby helps people, check one out one day and look at all the filth that's in your house and that you inhale daily. Its GROSS.... love to all, you have a right to your opinion. Thats why you live in AMERICA, but don't waste time being angry. BE POSITIVE.

People hang up on you when you say Kirby for a reason. The words Kirby, rip-off, and scam are nearly interchangeable. All it takes is some quick Googling to see how they lie to get in the door, refuse to leave the house until the homeowners threaten to call the police (or buy their overpriced crap to get rid of them), refuse to honor the three-day cooling-off period when people want to cancel, and rip off the elderly or those with mental disabilities. If you want sympathy for your scam, you sure as heck won't find it here. The drawing is a lie, the trips are a lie, the "we're a carpet company that wants to clean one room of your house for free" is a lie, and all the supposed calls to the sales manager to get the price lowered are an act. You should be in tears of shame for trying to defend this scam.

I don't think that Dons office or any other kirby office is ripping anyone off. They aren't a scam either. The way they get you to set an appointment can seem scandalist, but, I have tried multiple ways of setting appointments for a kirby company, and all but ONE person hung up on me after I said kirby. At the office I worked at, if you asked ig it was kirby, we had to say yes. We always said you had to take a look at the machine we use. Our salesmen were not pressured. And they do win trips. The drawing is also real. I've seen it. They don't pay some of their employess right amd sometimes they can try to push a phoner too hard and into tears. Other than that, the vac is an AMAZING machine. I've used one.

I just started working for Kirby. I f****ng love it. You know why? Because I'm ambitious, I communicate super well with people, I have DRIVE, and I know how to f****ng sell! Everyone that complains about our company is either broke, has bad credit, doesn't know how to clean anyway, or can't sell sight to a blind man. The machine does too many things to be considered just a vacuum. The dealers are some of the most positive and respectful folks I have ever worked with. Ever! We never lie about the Kirby and what it can. Furthermore, the purpose of the demo is to show you to your face, in your home, in the presence of all the occupants of that home that the Kirby is better than any piece of crappy equipment you have at home. If you can't afford it, say that at the door when the appointment setter visits knocks at your door. No one has ever been FORCED to buy a Kirby. Kirby owners are beyond satisfied with the performance of the Kirby. And the small percentage of people that do decide to return their Kirby often do so because they f****d it up and are just trying to scam the company into giving them their money back because they're too stubborn to fix their own f*** ups. Get a life. And a better job so you can afford one and get it repaired just in case you mess it up. Its the same as owning a foreign luxury car. Don't buy one if you can't afford to maintain it. That's that.

Hey Don, I'm with you on this one. Beside a 70 inch plasma screen TV, one of the other best things to have in your home is a Kirby! There isn't another damn thing on the market that can do what this thing does. Its not just a vacuum. With all due respect to everyone's opinion about kirby, the only people complaining are the ones that can't freakin' afford to buy one, or afford to even look at one for tht matter. Hoovers, dysons, eureka, and all those other companies that make vacuums make vacuums. Period. Whenever you can use one machine to vacuum, shampoo your carpet, use as a leaf blower, a hand portable cleaner, and a spraygun for painting your home, and of course maybe 100 other important household tasks, its worth every damn cent. Consider that buying a seperate machine for each of those jobs would cost any person far more than $2500. So to the people who complain about Kirby : get a better f**king job and then maybe you can get one so that you can see that the proof is in the pudding. Jerks

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! have you seen the phone scripts in comparison to the demonstrators? I was in the phone room and I know ppl doing demos so I've had the priviledge of reading them. They don't stop pushing until you push them out the door. In the phone room we're required to tell them "you have no obligation to buy pay or sign up for anything." Sounds like one of the famous managers trying to scam yet another person. Don't worry they don't just scam the consumers they scam they're own employees telling their salesmen they get 500 a sale regardless in the initial trainging then once they're sent out to do six demos on family members they're told they only get that commission if the Kirby's paid in full. Also they garuntee 1600 a month salary to salesmen but what they don't tell them is their first week is completely unpaid unless you make commission off your family which once again is only a percentage of the down payment. I've also heard rumor they're picking up the Kirby's for much less than they sell them for and trying to multiply they're profit by about 600% that's why they have the ability to drop the price so low and offer such commissions. They also tell the phone room to let ppl know we've checked out the company when they're weary of the demo which is not at all true. Today's my first day of research and I've left the company already.

Man I'm so happy I'm doing my research now...I've been working for the company for about two weeks now I though it was fishy that we're paid with personal checks and that payroll was a week behind but I've worked for larger corporations where the commission pay was held for a month so initially I went with it. Now i'm out of that company lookin for a new job thanks for the help man!

We are not a scam now just because we call .I make appointments and there is a free grocery drawing held 4 times a year And u do get free carpet n furniture cleaning we don't pressure u to buy a Kirby but if u really think about this machine will save u money going to the docs unless u like living in FILTH. I used to work for them in the beginning of 09'. They were great, the call room was always upbeat and fun. Don was a cool guy, I never got the child molester vibe from him at all, and Jeanette seemed mean at first but she was only doing her job by keeping everyone in line, and Kim was cool too. Yeah, I messed around the call room a lot and talked to everyone when I was supposed to be working but they never were mean about it, they told me to get back to work. They are good people, so what if you got fired for not making money, that is your job, they're not going to pay someone who is not contributing. Do teachers give the kids who don't do their work or fail all their test good grades? NO. Only the ones who work hard for it get it. Who cares who Don is married to or who he hires, at least he is willing to hire them so that there isn't more people on welfare using all the tax-payers money. Humans are not perfect, everyone makes mistake, you just got to learn from them.

The answer to the disconnected Q is simply this a company can install an outgoing call only phone. That's how a caller can get a disconnected message I get those calls all the time I call back and mysteriously the # has been disconnected

I bought a Kirby from this Rino Kirby West. I tried to return it because I did not like it after their 3 day cancellation period. All of the sudden it turned into all sales are final, no return or refunds regardless if you are satified with the product or not. Now I am stuck with a very expensive vacuum that I don't really care for. I wish I had been able to check their Better Business Bureau rating of "F" before I bought anything from these scam artists. I can't believe these people are still in business.

Reconfirming - they're still at it in 2010!  These people are sickening and should be put out of business.  When I answered the phone the first time, a recording immediately said "you have been called in error" and hung up.  Can you imagine.  This IMMEDIATELY leads me to think that they're using some kind of voice recognition to profile the answerer.  I don't think this is poaranoid and the technology IS available -- what other POSSIBLE explaination could there be!??!?  If they get a child or an elderly person - or even a female that didn;t answer with as much confidence/assertiveness, they could press ahead.  Given the fact that I read online that they have been employing registered sex offenders and sending them to peoplel's homes to do demos. I don;t think this is out of the question!!!  I finally found a local address & phone # and actually got this Kim person I've read about elsewhere online (the "fast-talker") I politely told her that I was registering my # with the federal do not call list as we spoke and not to use it again - now 2 days later: another call/hang up from RK West!  I got her again (or someone who claime dot be Kim) at the local # (RK West (Rhino Kerbie West) 3612 W Dunlap Ave Phoenix, AZ 85051 602-841-2801 4323 W Cactus #7. Glendale Arizona 85304 U.S.A..) and she was SOoooo apologetic.  Next time I won;t give them the courtesy of a call I'll take the time to write the attorney general and file a report w/the BBB, etc (they already have an F rating!) because they really should not be allowe dto keep this up - by law!  I know Kirbys are good vacuums but there tactics are out of control and whoever went on one of these discussion boards defending them was most likely a staff memeber of that office and not an actual consumer.  BEWARE!!!  If you're considering a purchase make sure you perform your research and due diligence - this is a SNAKE PIT!

We just went through this scam - flyer Rhino Kirby West 602-841-2819 was presented by two young girls offering to have someone come in to clean the carpet in any room and it does not cost anything, just spred the news if we are happy with the results. They said it would be 30-45 minutes. Well after an hour a sales presentation and no carpet cleaning going on, we asked him to leave.... it got very heated and Dave? stormed out and the other one, Josh stepped in to clean up. Watch out - these guys are selling Kirby vacumns for $2100 and will make you an affordable deal and will not leave - after 3 hrs finally. This is a total scam and I feel used, I am happy I did not give out any information but I feel violated and stupid that I allowed them in my home. I have reported this to the police and to my neighbors. Watch out !!!!

I have been working at RK West for about a month and a half now and have had no problems once so ever. I am not forced to pressure people into buying, and honestly it is a great product that people like to buy. You complain that the price is so high, what happens when you shop at walmart you really think you are getting the best deal ?? hell no every product on the shelf is marked tremendously higher than the price they buy it at!!!! We have to get paid too !!! As for being miss lead on the phones if you where told it was kirby you never would have agreed. We state very clearly at the door when showing up for the appointment that  we are with kirby and for watching our demonstration we do the cleaning free whether you buy or not !! It's common sense people if they say it's free you know there is a catch and when we show up in shirts and ties and specifically tell you what it is you still let us in anyways, Don't blame us for your own incompetence. Don't sit and bi*** and complain because you got sold ! When we call we really are talking to the boss, and the boss really is giving a better price, if you didn't want it we would have already been out the door and not on the phone with the boss. There for we really are trying to get you a better deal. This does not happen all the time. The contests are 100% real we are really winning a trip. My first day at kirby I had to give all my information so they could check my back ground and I was drug tested, so everything you have stated so far is false.
