We are a new California business (just moved in last week) and got calls  on 1/11/08 and 1/14/08 - same script; two different people: asked if we took credit cards, I said yes, and they said "Have a nice day" and hung up. I told them when they called today that I had already spoken to someone on Friday.

A few weeks ago I got a phone number for my new business.  A few days later, the phone started ringing off the hook, especially (602) 264-7997.  The phone company is forwarding the calls to my cell phone until I take possession of my building, so these calls are both annoying AND expensive...the cost for the forwarding AND the cell phone airtime.  This number calls repeatedly every day.  They do not leave messages, just continue to call, and call, and call.  I am on the Do Not Call list...but it doesn't seem to make a difference.  Anybody got any brilliant ideas on how I can get these jerks to go away?

Repeatedly called my business number today with caller id "telemarketer." Ignored calls, they did not leave any messages. Then we received a phone call from same firm with caller id "800 service" number 888-223-7681. "Merchant Services" selling credit card services to small businesses for HFCC Bank. Inquired whether we accepted credit card payments for our services. Sales script read.

I have received numerous calls from Merchant Services.  The first few I asked to be taken off of their list.  They asked me what phone number; which amazed me.  I called the phone company and they said telemarketing companies use automatic dialers to check on phone numbers and they could change my phone number, but that's about it.  I told them no because if these companies are using automatic dialers, it wouldn't do any good.  They said they didn't sell my phone number, but they do update numerous phone books and listings.

I have received numerous calls from this number. Called them back and asked to be taken off the list. But they keep calling. Isn't it illegal for telemarketers to call cell phones? I made a complaint with FCC and added my number to the Do-Not-Call list. Hopefully this will help.
At the same time as this number started calling me 5x/day I also suddenly received calls from a bunch of other telemarketers. Are they all related? Numbers are: 727-489-2618, 626-398-6613, 402-930-3659, 877-740-3336, 866-431-1139, 800-890-4902.

So- I finally figured out why this number is calling me. One of the telemarketers who called me from a different number told me that my cell phone was listed under a business name. She gave me the business name. I tracked down the business and called them. Turns out ATT had accidentally assigned this business my cell number as their new fax number. ATT's mistake.
I write this because maybe those who are getting telemarketer calls have been incorrectly listed as I have. Try to talk a telemarketer into helping you.

Everyday Merchant Svcs calls me I tell them NO NO NO NO NO, & they keep calling they will call me from (214)-624-5721, of course when i call the number back on a different phone, That number is no longer in service and has been disconnected. When i get nasty with them and very verbal Then they call back on another number (818)-450-5618 and of course it too is a "NON-WORKING" number. Ive had them get nasty with me a couple times and when i hang up the phone. they have been known to call 4 times in a row form the (214) number till i get verbal then they will call from the (818). GOD LET ME FIND THEM!!!

Merchant Services credit card scamming services, have called me 2x already today, still refuse to take us off their calling list. I don't care what the FCC says, if I am already on the DO NOT CALL list, and I have asked these people multiple times to stop calling us and take us off their list, then they should have to stop harassing us or get fined for it.

Just call and say nothing for a few seconds then disconnect. I have heard when these calls come in...they are computers calling to see if a human voice answers or a machine picks up. It then reports it to a database and sell them to marketers.....WE CAN'T WIN!

My business is only open Mon-Fri, and so I checked my phone this morning to find I had 17 missed calls over the weekend (all on Sat, all 15 mins apart - must have been from a dialer).

They all came from the same number... 602-264-7997. There were no messages left. Weird thing is that I also got 1 call on the same day from a different telemarketer, who actually did leave a message (something about a Free Dell computer when you set up your business to accept credit cards).

It's a little strange that, up to now, I'd never received any calls from telemarketers on my business number, and all of a sudden I am inundated with them. Hopefully I won't hear from them again. If I do, they'll definitely be hearing from me.

My husband and I just moved and he got a business phone line as our home phone so he could write it off.....we just had it hooked up a week ago, but so far TODAY I've had FIVE calls from this number. I picked it up and the guy goes, 'do you accept credit cards?' and before I read this site and found that it was telemarketing for businesses, I said no, this is a residence. The guy got rude and said 'then you need to check with your phone company because it's listed as a business, and we can call businesses'. I said if he called again, I would be speaking with his supervisor. We signed up for the do not call list, hopefully that helps when it kicks in in 31 days, which is not the best timing because I'm about to give birth  to my first child and don't want the phone ringing every half hour.

Called yesterday and today.  Checked with your page here.  Found out they are a service company that sells creditcard machines.  Googled them.  Have a name and a phone number, plus a web site, www.mandtmerchants.com.  Here is the phone number, 877-626-8320.  Haven't called yet.  Will if I hear from them again.

Just received a call from this #. I didn't pick up in time, but didn't recognize the # and no message was left, so I googled it and found this site.  I just opened a new biz 1/1/09 and my ATT phone was connected 1/7/09.  With a new biz, I'm sensitive to calls b/c it may be a new client.  I'll see how it goes.
