Thanks to the person who provided the AZ Attorney General Link !  Another avenue for my quest to stop these scammers!

My number is registered on National Do Not Call.  I have received calls from this number - Caller I.D. says HBA Debt - but according to some folks here it is aka Mortgage & Buying Solutions.  Several calls per week are noted. No messages are left and when I do take the calls they hang up (or never come on the line from their dialers)  Either way, it's too much!

Please note the following experience I had with another company which is doing the same thing.  (They are all trying to sell you on the idea of a work from home business.)

I advised "Tony West" of Higher Impact, Inc to remove me from their calling list.  He was soliciting home based business opportunities and claimed he had my number from an online survey source called Home Business Connection.  Although I repeatedly told him I had no interest or need to earn money from my home - he persisted and insisted that I had 'at some point' requested the information he had to offer.  Finally, I advised him that I would spend my spare time filing the necessary complaints with the FCC, BBB and National Do Not Call until his business was heavily fined and hopefully issued a cease and desist all unwanted phone solicitation.  I told him to get a "real" job and stop harrassing people.  Beware of these scams!  These callers will not allow you to get a word in -- they keep talking -- keep insisting you had requested the information through a survey, website, etc.  They want to play you pre-recorded testimonials of other scammers, who claim to have made their fortune with some unnamed company -- and claim it's so easy! you can work from home! become independently wealthy!  DON'T FALL FOR IT!!  They want your credit card information so they can hook you into a pyramid scheme.  You give them $200 or more "investment" and you too can become just like them!  You will have to call people and get their credit card information and convince them that they will make a fortune working from home; and so on....  You never really sell a 'product'; rather the opportunity to be a nuisance in someone else's life.  Don't give any telephone number (home, cell, work) to anyone other than those with whom you do business and provide the protective clause that your information will not be sold or used for solicitation of any kind.  Some of the comments these people have given have been off the hook!  I asked a guy @ (623-842-6885)  "are you so thick that you can't grasp the concept that I am not interested? and to removed my name & number from your list?"  He then said "are you such a redneck that you don't want to earn money working from home?"  And, when I told Joe @ ITECH (877-759-4409) that I didn't need any extra money I have all I need -  He said "Really?  How much money do you have?"  I am appalled at what these people are getting away!  Believe me, I will spend as much time as possible putting a stop to this in my life.  If it weren't for a few people standing up years ago; there wouldn't be a National Do Not Call Registry and certain laws in place to keep this type of behavior from happening.  I suggest you all do your part in reporting these nuisance callers.  Keep a log of the numbers, names of businesses, names of callers; and get as much information from them while they are on the phone with you.  Don't let them off easy!  They interrupted your day - make them account for that.  Make them provide you answers to as many questions as you can think of and really make them uncomfortable.  Don't let them win!

Got a call last night from this person.  Acted as if I had requested information from her, then got rude when I told her I had no interest in what she was peddling.  Sorry if you got scammed, but that is exactly what it is.  Very poor phone etiquette, very unable to tell you exactly what she's selling.  Stay far, far away from this one....for your own good.

I got a from call from them a little while ago.  These sneaky b*****ds try to skip your answering machine recording (in case you're screening your calls) by pressing the usual phone keys which either bypass the greeting (so they obviously don't care about what you have to say about any referral numbers to contact you or such), or are trying to get into your answering machine to play back your messages.  I was listening to my machine (screening my calls), when the woman was cussing because she got our recording and didn't like it and was trying to bypass it or get into our answering machine.

Either way, it's NOT a good BUSINESS practice (but if you're a crook, who cares?), and CERTAINLY NOT ethical behavior - but who expects ethical behavior from a company which tries to make hard sales of various products and services over the Internet via telemarketing???  Especially when they hire folks over in India to make their calls to cut down on costs to their mostly illegal activities?  Do they pay attention to the DoNotCall lists?  NO!  Do they respect or honer requests to have your number removed from their databases as required when requested?  NO!  Do they even care about US laws pertaining to telemarketing?  NO!  Esepcially since they're not even IN the USA, nor do they use regular phone lines as most of their calls are via Telephony Over IP (TOIP) and Voice Over IP (VOIP), which means they can chage their caller IDs to whatever they want, including the US Department of Defense, US Department of Justice, and US Navy or other agencies depending on whatever the Caller ID is registered for that number WHICH THEY ARE SPOOFING.

If you call the number back, someone completely different answers the phone and sounds NOTHING like the person who called you - 'cause after all, they're not calling from where they're indicating on their Caller ID.

They're spoofing where ever they're calling from, don't care about US laws, don't care or worry about threats to be investigated or prosecuted - 'cause they're NOT calling from the numbers indicated on the Caller ID!  They're calling from India over the Internet!!

May their God have mercy on their DISHONEST souls (and their God WILL know of their dishonest transgressions and punish them accordingly!!)!

If you signed up or inquired about a "Working At Home" business on the internet, thus leaving your email and/or phone number, you will get calls from this number (602)274-0440. Just ask them to stop calling. No big deal. They will stop. They wont call your number unless you or someone in your household handed it out. (Unless of course, they are calling a number by mistake).

Do you understand that "happy customers" never need to come to sites like this. Do you understand that the only time we see posts endorsing some filthy SCAM are from the SCAMMERS themselves? Do you have any idea how common WORK AT HOME SCAMS are and have been for YEARS?

Oh, and do you understand the difference between "loose" and "lose"? LOL

Geez!

I talked to AVM rep. The business sounds interesting, but , have you made any money yet??? There are so many scams out there and I'm real skeptical. What did you get for 169.00?? Please share some details. I'd love to work at home, but can't afford to loose anything.

Thanks

I already told this company to stop calling me, so now they just use a different number to call me!
I don't want to be in the business of buying off someone else?s estate or lawsuits for half of what the settlement was. I don?t want to be on the phone all day bugging people to sell their stuff. As far as setting up a website, I can do that my self; why pay someone!
They have so many numbers to call you from it?s almost impossible to block them:(

person identified himself as tyler at Home Value (network?)...
Wanted to make sure I had a couple of hundred dollars to spend on a credit or debit card.  After some probing, I found out you are expected to build a web site (they will "Coach you" to do this) and get people to fill out loan applications. For every "approved" application, you get $500 or $700, depending on the type of loan.  You get paid even if the loan doesn't close..((Yeah... Right...).  This sounds much like an affiliate program for a mortgage broker, but he claims affilates are pyramids...  At one point, he mentioned "what do you care, you get paid when the application is approved.  We get 25% of a $200,000 mortgage so can afford to pay you the $500".  Of course, every red light possible went off at that statement.  There just isn't that sort of money in the loan business...  Nobody in the packaging side of the world is getting anywhere near 25%, or you'd find these folks standing in the street stopping cars to ask for business.  Nope, not gonna happen.

more research finds that these folks make their money by "coaching you" with business matters, like building a web site for you, and "helping you" get traffic to the site, etc...  The coaching will definitely cost you MORE than the initial hit on your credit card.  I didn't stick around long enough to find out if there is a recurring (monthly) fee, but bailed on the call after he started ranting.

I receive numerous calls during the day from this number.  Not interested in what they have to say or offer, so I don't answer.  They are quite annoying and would love for them to be prosecuted for harassing consumers.  Our country is experiencing a critical ressession and we are forced to suffer through these types of insensitive and money-hungry scammers... Hope something can be done soon to stop them!!!
