Yes, got a call from this number and received a hanger stating they missed us on my door which prompted my call considering I was waiting for a delivery coincidentally.  They we're trying to sell me alarm services.  Won't take this call again.

It will make it worse.  They pull your number off the caller id and call you relentlessly all day long.  I have gotten calls from this number and 614-801-9510, about 20 or so a day.  Sometimes there is someone there, sometimes there is not.  I have told them several times to take me off their list, but 15 minutes later, I get another call.  

I have filed a complaint with the do not call registry.  We shall see if anything comes of it.  We have been in our house for a few years, so it is not just new home owners they target.

Reading your post gave me cancer.  You're so smart and so exceptionally technical and so desperate to have people realize it that you even have to unpack the acronym "IVR" into parenthasees as proof that you know it, or because you feel you need to educate us.

Thank you everyone for posting here. Good to know its just soliciting. I was kind of worried due to me sitting here watching tv and my dog hearing the door creak. By the time i realized what i had heard, they were gone. Super weird and super sketchy.  Needless to say i will not be calling.

Apparently they are now operating in McKinney, TX.  Closed on my home about a month ago and got a "second delivery attempt" card.  Very professionally done on card stock with high quality printing.  Hand written note on it was very neat and legible.  If I wasn't expecting anything, I might have fallen for it and I think of myself as pretty savvy. They list a Dallas and a Ft. Worth number (214-446-9041 and 817-259-2052).  Many thanks to this website for the scoop on this.

Thanks to everyone who has posted. We just purchased a new home in Gilbert and received 2 notices from COMPASS before we arrived to begin moving in  (they were stuck in the door). We have a number of items coming to furnish the house so we are expecting packages.....however the cards looked a bit phoney. I was home this morning when the third card was slipped in the door. At first I did dial the Phoenix  number from the card,got a message to leave my ID number ( left on the tag) and decided to Google them instead.

Being new to the area I thought they might be some kind of local delivery service. However all these posts expose them for who they are...CROOKS. I called the local police dept. and the nice officer I spoke with said that he had recently seen a police bullitin about these folks and for me to let them no if I receive any additional flyers . Suggest anyone getting these cards give a call to your police station so they can track these idiots.

I just got one of these on my door. I just bought my home as well. I am pretty sure they put it on the door, rang the bell and left.  I heard the door bell, only to find the note on my door and no one there.  I'm glad I looked it up. I won't be calling them back

we closed on a house in Carrollton 6 weeks ago and have had a 1st and 3rd delivery attempt notice left on our door, both times I was in and I'm sure that the 3rd time they tried to open the door. Hoping they will now give up but like previous posts we are keeping the house locked up tight.

Just closed on our house two weeks ago and we got one of these notes today.  Handwriting looked like a four-year-old wrote it.  We did see a private garbage company vehicle (Whip and Spur) nearby and their trash pickup day was yesterday for our neighborhood, don't know why they would be in our area today.

I just closed on my home Monday and had one of these tags on my door today.  I'm in Tempe and the numbers to call are Phoenix 602-314-3383 and Tucson 520-720-3254.  I will be looking for a way to report these people.  My house is already wired tighter than Fort Knox so they should probably think twice before doing anything funny.

Same story, just purchased a home in north San Antonio.  I didn't do the research first, so I called, gave the reference number.  They had our name and address.  I asked to reschedule delivery, but he told me they have a new policy to only attempt once.  After that they will email the package!!!
OK - so it finally hit me this was a scam.  I kept bugging him with questions, which really seemed to annoy him.  I asked if he was a delivery company then how would he email me the "package".  He said condescendingly "I type in your email address and send it to you." I ask - how do you know what's in my package?  "It's a welcome package" - so they must know I just bought the house.  I ask - so YOU'RE wanting to send me something?  He said -"No I'm just delivering it the offers from local businesses ".   After a while I got tired of annoying him, so I hung up.

Received the same noticed with a second attempt on it and call 2 reschedual. Did call 2 try 2 reschedual and the answer machine is vague doesn't give company name and if u put a confirmation number in or not u still go 2 the same extention which was full. But everything that everybody is saying about just moving in and with the attempts and calling the number seems 2 fit. Don't call number just a waste of time but that is really a low down thing for them 2 do.

they are now under the name 'Compass' delivering a red and tan card.  I was not expecting any sort of package.  Once googling I see they are a scam.  Wanted to pass on that I just closed on a home as well and they are using the numbers 602-926-1638 for Phoenix and 520-350-9571 for Tucson.

This must be a multi-level operation with delivery folks posting tags based on real estate/mortgage reports, call center folks selling their crap, and "inspectors" that do the home visits... very elaborate setup, but the giveaway is the hand-written address and confirmation number. Any company doing business today would have electronically generated documentation.

Craziest part about this, there is no recourse for the homeowner. No obvious authority to report this to. Its like spam email.

If you get one, just throw it away, and be cautious about keeping things locked up.

Found a "Sorry We Missed You!" Red and Tan Card with 2nd Attempt asking us to reschedule and use the provided confirmation ID no.  The card stated on the bottom Delivered by Compass.  It seemed odd and suspicious because I never received a 1st Attempt.  We just moved to Frisco 2 Weeks ago.  I googled both numbers listed on card Dallas 214-446-9041 and Fort Worth 817-259-2052 and found this site.  I am grateful for everyone's input!  So they are now moving into the NTX Frisco Area targeting new home owners.

Yep.  Got our second one today.  I watched the guy pull up in a dumpy red pickup truck, get out, and stick the flyer in our door.  No knock/no doorbell ring.  I guess we'll get one more and hopefully, they'll leave us alone!  What a creepy way to do business.

Yes, they are definitely in the DFW area.  I live in Fort Worth and just bought the house last summer.  I threw the "1st Attempt" one away because the flier looked hinky to begin with.  Kids found the "2nd Attempt" taped to my mailbox flag today so I thought I would look it up.  They have two numbers on the ones I received... Dallas: (214) 446-9041 and Fort Worth: (817) 259-2052.  

No one should ever call a number unless you know what it is from.  After reading all of these, I plan on breaking an arm if I catch them around here.  Unlucky for them, I am big and mean enough to actually do it.  Muahahah!

Just got one of these hangers on my door a few days ago. Just moved into my house and figured it was some docs of some sort since we have had some of our docs fed-ex'd to us. Called and was pitched a security system after being told that they had a $1000 coupon package for local businesses. Before she got much into her pitch told her we already have a security system and then she hung up really quick. Different phone numbers on my flyer tho 602-314-3383, and 520-720-3254, which is the main reason why im posting.

We received a letter on the door on 3-19-12 stating that we had missed a delivery from compass and w needed to call and reschedule. We are in mesquite Texas. My wife UN knowingly set up the appointment for them to come out and do a free in home consultation about an alarm system. When I got home I researched and found out this was a scam. When the guy got here I told him he was running a scam and wanted him to leave. He pulled in front of the neighbors house and turned of the car. He sat there for another 10 minutes in the dark. I called police and when they came I found out that the night before the officer had another one the exact same. They are moving around and are now in the mesquite Texas location. I didn't get a call. I had card hanging on the door. This is the 1st 1 we've gotten from Compass. It used to be a company called Metro delivery. We received 3 or 4 from them.

Got 1 today. The "delivery company" is apparently called Compass now in the Phoenix area.
