I was a telemarketer for a reasonable amount of time and hated it. As to why they keep calling you? As far as I know, they can't stop calling you because you get leads which can be anyone, anywhere. However, I believe there is a program to put you on the Do Not Call List called https://www.donotcall.gov/ and that SHOULD work. Telemarketers are just given leads. They, depending on what company it is, generally don't have a choice unless they enjoy losing money. hassle + rapport = sale (normally). I highly recommend going to that site because I'm pretty sure corporate won't do crap. but I don't know that for sure.

I can see that a link to the rating could have raised some questions.

And yet, as "accredited members" they do in fact manage to have an "A-".

420 complaints and they get an "A-".  Gee, I always thought that where there was smoke, there tended to be fire.  Oh well, maybe being fireproof is one of the advantages of being "Accredited", whatever that means.

I have seen many shills claim inflated BBB ratings, and while they may offer to link to them, they never do.  

So, where is your link?

Even if the ratings are positive, in my estimation, BBB Ratings are not terribly meaningful.  There have been a number of reports indicating that the ratings tend to be a reflection of how much money a business has (or has not) put into the BBB's coffers - a so called "Pay to Play" policy.  The BBB is a private business, and has no government or other official standing.

Same exact situation as above.  Received two calls with no one answering on the other end.

this number is for SMC PROMOTIONS at 4041 N CENTRAL AVE, PHOENIX, AZ, 85012, US. SMC PROMOTIONS specializes in: Business Services, NEC.
they also call from 866-701-1762.  the guy called me 5 times in one day and when i answered and told him i was not interested and hung up he called back fro 602-308-2700 and yelled at me for hanging up on him!?!?  i don't know about anyone else, but in my mind, this is harassment and should be addressed if this is suppose to be a business.

I kept getting calls from these people so after three weeks of getting calls from them i finally answered and the guy started soing his whole schpeel about who he was and what he does and I said that I was interested at the time but not now and he  had me sit through the whole schpeel about his company and how it would make me reach my goals and about the starter packages.  I said I wasn't interested he started being rude to me so i hung up

When answering the phone, their usually is along pause and then finally some one will answer and ask for Duncan. They said Duncan has requested information regarding a home based business and they gave us this phone number. I have told them to remove my phone number from their database. I just reported them as well to the do not call registry, because I have put my number on the list, and also, b/c I have made a request to be removed, which they are required to do if you request to be removed from their list.

THIS NUMBER HAS BEEN BLOWING UP MY PHONE LIST EVERY 2MINUTES WITHOUT LEAVING A MESSAGE.  MY THEORY ON THAT IS, "NO MESSAGE, NOT IMPORTANT!"

call continously one day i counted and wrote down times 9 times all 10 to 15 mins apart. when i did answer i always got really ignorant sales reps from SMC. I have swore at them, yelled and hung up yet they keep calling. now they somehow got my email address and are sending me emails too. im pissed right of this is harrasment.

Someone else has signed me up on a webform to recieve phone calls like this one. Was able to get the email and Ip address of the jerk who did it by talking to the people calling. Have filed complaints with FTC and local law inforcement. And working with Comcast's security assurance dept to track down the scum bag doing this.

Earlier this week, I started getting calls from this number 4-6 times per day, on my cell phone.  I've also started to receive other marketing calls on my cell in the last two weeks or so, including international numbers.  Here's my theory about what happened . . . I received one of those ubiquitous Facebook invitations from a friend to take an IQ test.  To get the results, I had to go through page after page of "offers" -- I thought I said No to everything, but it is very possible that one flag remained checked as Yes.  Every person who has called who I've actually spoken with has said they were calling in reply to MY request for information -- on glucose meters, insurance quotes and on and on.

I get calls from this number every half hour.  I answered it once but it seems that my number is on a direct dial up system and they never take your number off of those.  I am going to loose my job if this keeps happening.  I use my phone for business so I can't turn it off.

Why do we pay good money for cell phone service if this keeps happening to everyone?

I looked for jobs on craigslist and thought this one job was legit. I entered my info to get information, this same number called me this morning and told me that they're home businesses and so they didn't have what I had. The man I spoke to said "well you're looking for a job and we're looking for people who want to start a home business so goodbye." I kept getting calls from that number all day long, around 15 times. I didn't pick up because I already talked to that guy. I called back because I was getting irritated with the calls and the lady was a total b***h. All I said was "could you please take my name off of whatever list it's on and stop calling me?" she responded with "have you increased your income since you've filled out the info?" and it's just like it doesn't matter if i have or not, all i'm asking is that you remove my name from whatever and stop calling my phone. She kept persisting on an answer, finally in a bitchy tone she said "yeah okay have a nice day."

I would've knocked her out.

They called me twice today, i have no idea who it is. they didn't leave a message. like this is seriously getting old.

This number is SMC or Speciality Merchandising Corp.  Its a home based business that sells things to their members at wholesale price and the members sell the thins at retail.. like the rest of the world does... If you get a call, then more likely your looking for a homebased business or somehow are on the list that is interested.

I saw an ad on the internet and it looks like its from a marketing company that sales some retail products and its in Phoenix az.

I have gotten the same phone call 2/3 times a night on my cell phone and im talking like 9pm at night. i dont answer and they dont leave a message, however when i call the number back its for S M C, and all operators are busy,,, go figure.

This company has called me about six times but I don't answer and they don't leave a message.

They've just started calling me today, never left a message, is there some way to block them?

This number is constantly calling me, in the last week i've gotten about 30-40 calls from them and only one message about it being for a grant.  I've done some research on it and it looks like it's just a scam, they will take your money, promise you lies and run when you confront them.  They hide behind laws in order to protect themselves, I'm not sure how much of what I found is true or false but beware if they ask you for any money.

I got a call from this number twice ehis afternoon. No one was there the first time I answered and the second time, sent it to voice mail, no message was left. I looked on Google and it comes back as a Gift Card company. I didn;t sign up, order, or request such a gift card. Probably a scam. Just becareful people.

I'm getting three to four calls a day on my cell phone!  I have been ignoring the calls and haven't answered yet.

Like the rest I am getting these calls. 8 so far today. It is particularly annoying when they call while I am on another call. They are buying up our numbers somewhere. I don't publish my cell and only give it out to friends. Never on any forms.  I can't block it on my cell phone but I have saved it as IGNORE so at least I can see quickly who it is and press the side bar to send it directly to voice mail. Of course they never leave a message. There are a couple of Web sites with more irritated people being bothered by these fools. Scam or not there is no reason to call someone multiple times in the same day. How about a class action to get them to stop?
