I live in Olympia, Wa. South of Seattle 75 miles and we have a legitimate Veterans Releif Fund here. It is funded by the U.S Government and they do NOT solicit money from anyone.

YOU CAN HOW EVER MAKE DONATIONS> if you so choose, but they will never ask you too.

You may have an office in your area too and can get their number by Googling it and verify any such calls as you have received here and get any other info you might want.

They will help with things like rent, electric bill and propane for heat and so on.

Even buy you groceries up to 400.00 per single person.

You can only use it once a year for two years and then skip a year and then two years again.

It is for low income Veteran families only though. I hope this helped you for future calls you may receive in their name.

caller id listed it as "A V R F". I have no idea what the heck that is though?

This telephone number is being used by Bank of America.  After four telephone calls to me with no message left the past few days I called the number myself just two minutes ago.  

If you call the number you will get a recorded message of a mans voice claiming to be from Bank of America.  He tells you that from time to time Bank of America has offers it feels would interest me.  Then he asks me to push a certain number on the phone if I'm interested in continuing the conversation with someone.

I keep getting calls from this number,caller id says Bank of America. Did a reverse number check on whitepages.com they say it's a cell phone based in the Phoenix area.

Got a call from this number too.  To a landline.  If it is from this person who was convicted of fraud how is it that he can still make these calls.

Get call rejection service from your phone company and then you can block these ignorant calls.

Received a call from this number. I didn't answer. Caller ID said A V C.

I got a call too, they said they were a fundraising company to help veterans.

They keep calling, but they don't leave a message on the answering machine.

This appears to be a call from a commercial fund raiser on behalf of American Veterans Relief Fund, headed by Dallas resident Marvin Cherna, who was later convicted of mail fraud for looting the charity. According to the California Attorney General, less then 13% of the funds collected go to the "charity".

called on my landline.  I didn't answer.  Left no message on ans. machine.  Shows up as AVRF.  I'm new to this, is there any way to find out who these callers are?
