I received a recorded call regarding carpet cleaning. It came in on my cell phone number, which I am careful about giving out.

602-475-269- some carpet company, on my cell phone using up my paid minutes for their advertisement??? UNFAIR!!  I put my cell phone on unwanted call list months ago.  They are somehow avoiding this list, which I think is US Government controlled.  So, in one of the previous reports, there was mention of being overseas, so perhaps that is how they avoid the unwanted list.  Surely there must be some way to stop this, however, since some of the first offences are in October, apparently there is no solution, or it is very slow.

Keep getting unwanted calls from this number. A voice recording for carpet cleaning. The caller ID is incomplete.

Pre-recorded message prompts to press 1 to make an appointment to get carpets cleaned. Company calls itself "Carpet Care". I pressed 1 to get a represenative and asked to be removed AGAIN. This number is on the "Do Not Call" list. I informed them that this was a cell phone listed on the do not call list and they just hang up.

The last number of the phone number does not show up on the incoming call log on my cell phone. When I asked them for their phone number the gave me 1-888-317-9188. This number routed me to a recording to send flowers. These calls have been coming in to my cell phone for months now.

I sincerely hope you can track these people down and make them stop. I called the number listed and tried the last digit as 0-9. Some of these numbers came up with the same message: "This Cricket Customer is not available"... most likely the phone service they are calling from.

These people have been calling for months! They should be fined heavily for calling cell phone numbers (AND on the "DO Not Call" list!!)

I got a call from this number on my work cel phone which is a municipal government used for actual emergency services.  Carpet cleaning services.

When I pressed 1, I was connected & VERY politely informed the operator that this number is used for emergency communication & that it was not appropriate for them to call.

She hung up.

Next time I'm just going to unleash the profanities, if they are going to hang up when I'm nice, I might as well be a jerk.

Well, it appears that whoever this is just started in mid-October.  I just got my third call today; however, I have never had a voicemail left for me.  I have yet to answer the call, and it's looking like that won't accomplish much anyhow.  I am also in the Phoenix area, and the calls are also going to my cell phone.

Just to confirm -- I received one on my cell phone today, missing last digit, I answered, they hung up without a word. Unfortunately, the call may cost me money cuz I pay for incoming as well as outgoing.

Thanks to everyone for the info you've all posted!

Receiving calls from 602-475-269 about once every 2 weeks.  Message left is a carpet cleaning offer asking me to press 1, now. The message does not contain the Name of the company. I don't want these calls using up my cell phone minutes!  I have dialed back 602-475-2690, 2692,and 2698 and received a message that says the number is not valid "Message 33, PHX". I've also dialed back 602-475-2697 and 2699 and a message says the Cricket number is not Assigned, "Message 20, PHX".  My husband is getting these calls also.  How can we stop this?

Gina, I'm also in Phoenix AZ and just received a phone call from this number.

The fun part is, my cell phone number is an 860 (Connecticut number). I actually figured it was a call reminding me to vote or something, as my 860 number is what I used when registering to vote.

The voicemail left? Oh, it's all about carpet cleaning. Who in Phoenix is giving out our phone numbers?

I received a call this morning from 602-475-269. I distinctly remember receiving a call from this number a couple weeks ago. last time I remember picking it up and it was a recorded message and I just immediately hung up (not interested).
But this time I thought - I don't want them calling me anymore. So I listened to the message (telemarketing about carpet cleaning) and it instructed me to press 1 to inquire more about the service or schedule an appointment. A lady greets me with "Carpet Care.." and I told her about the recording and asked if wanted to schedule an appointment. I said, NO! I want to get off your list. And she interrupted me and said that she would do that immediately. But I proceeded to ask her that I gave no authorization for them to be calling me and I asked her what company are you and she repeated, "Carpet Care.." and I tried speaking more but she hung up on me! And of course I don't have the full number to call her back at. Unless I wasted my time and tried all 10 numbers.

I noticed she did have a slight accent - but she didn't speak enough for me to distinguish it. 602 area code is the Phoenix, AZ vicinity - which is where I live. Which is also the reason I picked up the phone. If it were long distance and i didn't recognize the # I would have been less likely to answer it.

This is very strange and scary.

Did more checking and found out others are having problems with similar numbers missing the last digit.  These calls could be coming in by way of VoIP or Skype which is free calls over the Internet.  Some countries only have 9 digits...they drop the zero at the beginning.  So the number above could be 60-247-5269 out of Malaysia, or area code 160, which would still be out of the country in Germany I think.  Reports on 9 digit numbers have stated everything from carpet cleaning to credit reports.

It does appear to be some kind of SCAM...DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY OF YOUR INFO.

Hope this helps.

Received a call from this number about a week ago.  It was some carpet cleaning business.  Some woman was making telemarketing calls for it.  I asked her to take me off her list.  Not sure how I got on in the first place since I'm careful about giving out this number.  She hung up on me.  Now I received another call today...same number with the last digit missing.  Didn't pick up in time.  Tried to call the number adding a zero at the end, but it was an invalid number.  If they call again, I'm going to press 1 to be connected to a person and get the name of the business and file a complaint.

Did you actually talk to someone?  I had several calls in a row from this one, with the missing last digit... tried to call back and can't get anything.
