I was going through a divorce and needed to do a loan modification. I was told by them that I can't even qualify for one until I was almost 6 months past due on my mortgage.  Even though I had the money to pay for around 3 months, I jumped through the hoops, financial statements, letters of hardship,etc... this went on for almost 8 months.  Then I was finally told (after months, and months) that i did not qualify for a loan modification and that I now owed them $21,000+ to be paid immediately and they started foreclosure proceedings. I had that mortgage, a business line of credit, and a personal line of credit with them that was transferred from the Wachovia buy out. I defaulted on them ALL- almost $500k. I mean seriously, you would think that their inner workings would discuss between their entities that tanking someone with that much vested in their bank would probably be a bad business decision. I tried to negotiate, but they wouldn't hear it soooo I've been CASH AND CARRY ever since. Dave Ramsey opened my eyes- you don't need credit, you don't need credit cards, just live in your means and if you don't have it, you don't need it!

Pretty sure this is not even Wells Fargo. I spoke to Wells Fargo and they told me they do not have a debt collection agency, they hire an outside service. My number got on a business account that isn't mine. The people at this number are very unprofessional and do not speak like real Wells Fargo employees.

They are scum. My child answered and said me and my wife are going to jail and will die and he and his sister will be orphans and starve. Turns out it was a wrong number dialed by a certified idiot sadist from Bank of America.

This number keeping calling me but does not leave a message.  I don't answer calls from number I do not know.  If they would leave a message I would call back.  I get really tire of these calls  I am on the No Call List but apparently that does work or make a difference.

Someone gave our number to Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo calls us from this number every morning. 99% of the time when we answer the call, no one speaks from the other end.  I once was able to talk to a live person when I answered the call, they asked for someone that we don't know, so I told them there is no such person at our number and requested them to stop calling our number. The agent said he would do that.  Yet the call daily call never stopped.  It has been going on like over a year now, since we have caller ID, we just learn to ignore all calls from Wells Fargo including this one.  If Wells Fargo don't change their practice, they will just shut out all their customers, e.g. no Wells Fargo call will ever get through ever because of this.

Legit Wells Fargo number. I have auto pay set up but apparently they charged me a 100.00 annual fee to use their credit line and my auto pay didn't cover the extra 100.00 so they considered me in default. They are a little over dramatic (and could have emailed or sent a letter first) but I paid over the phone and the credit is showing up on my Wells Fargo online account so it is all legit.  Wells Fargo has bought other companies so even if you don't have a Wells Fargo account, make sure they didn't purchase a company you do have an account with and you just don't know it yet.

I recently filed a BK Ch 7.   I was never behind in ANY payments to Wells Fargo... but as soon as they got notice of their debt being included in my filing... they has started calling.  My attorney is about to file a cease and desist order against them and to report them to FTC under federal harassment guidelines.

I get a call every week or more from this number.  Apparently, someone from a company submitted my name fraudulently on a loan or credit document as a co-signer.
I NEVER, EVER signed anything, and was never part of this company.  I only did work for this company, AND was NEVER  paid a cent for that matter.
Now, this bank is trying to get me!!!!!!
I am very, very close to contacting the FBI.  I am being harassed on both sides.

I have been getting calls from this number telling me that it is urgent that I call them that it is about a wachovia line of credit for Screenworks llc.  They refer to me by my old married name which I have not had for 6 years and seem to think I work for this company.  They mentioned that they want to speak to my x-husband or me.  I have never heard of this company nor do I know of any line of credit with Wachovia for anything.  I am getting a lawyer involved to get them to quit calling me.  I can't figure out how they got my cell phone number.

hello my name is mike i manage a firm called financial and credit solutions out of harrisburg pa. I too have a client who is going through the same matter of fact seems most of my clients have the same problems with these so called third party cagey collectors..........however i have been defeating them and making my clients alleged debts become uncollectible, without the process of bankruptcy and other legal actions that at the end of their course leaves the client out in the cold with nothing to show for than a destroyed credit history that will stick with then for up to 15 years........please remember this is the best piece of 100% free financial advise..........."attack your alleged creditors upon the contract that has failed to preform,! Do not argue debts you loose and their is no relief ............well except for the money your attorney made!"

There's an election coming up in 2012. Right now the tew that have not suffered as a result of the recent bad economy are being given even more leeway to squeeze what they can from the huge numbers that have not. Its not about politcal parties it about basic decency and fairness. Hold those running for office accountable for not making the actions and practices of folks like these illegal!Support only those who will insist upon shutting these practices down!

yuup, they begged to give me lines of credit because of phenominal credit and huge deposits.  Had an extremely successfull custom home construction company.  Went under in january. I recommend infowars for information on whats really happening with this country everyone.  Type it in google or don't.  Your choice, but we need to stick together. We're all depressed, but we have to inform each other help one another, because we are all we have.  Stay positive and get involved with the real news media. Good luck guys.

Hey Sheryl..there are many of us with the same issue..the credit card companies have pretty much painted themselves into the virtual corner with their tactics..the collectors are definitely the worst when it comes to trying to make you feel like a deadbeat.. up until Dec. 09 I kept up well with the payments but after the first of 2010, my business died & has not recovered at all..I am going down the bankruptcy road soon after being in business 35 years..I am starting all over at 60 with no means of income to jump start my life.. I have refinanced to pay the credit card leeches & now I just have to find a way to survive..Thank you Obama & all your cronies in DC for helping us out...You sit in your nice positions in the government not worrying about us...we all know about karma & what goes around comes around..it just takes time..
Don't feel bad Sheryl, I have been fighting depression over this for 6 months now & am to a point that I just don't care anymore.. I have nothing to get & their tactics make me not want to pay them now..Take care & let's ride this one out..we will be better people for hanging on to our sanity..DK

I feel your pain.  I'm in the same boat.  Not only did I'm file for bankruptcy but also loan mod.  A path I would not recommand to anyone.  Unless you wish to go through the hassel.
When things were good, Wells Fargo was kissing my feet.  Cause I was averaging about 2mil in deposit per year at there bank.  Now economic down turn, they would not even help me with my line of credit.
Cut me down about waist high.

This is a wells fargo collection number.

You are not alone. And remember they invested in our potential success, they must share in our misfortunes. 30% interest? Shame on THEM. Remember folks. 7 years from the date of last account activity is how long the info stays on your credit report. These credit card companies took me through the wringer years ago with me trying to make payments for YEARS..with late fees, over limit fees, high interest rates....finally I could pay no longer and it took 7 years for my credit to clean up. Well this time around I stopped the second I realized I wasn't going to get any help just the same wringer. It's just business after all. Nothing personal!

Unfortunately, my business has suffered greatly due to the economy and I am forced to declare bankruptcy.  My lawyer has recommended that I not talk to any collection agencies until we file.  I have been advised to hang up and not return calls.  So, now they are calling my mother's phone number.  She is getting calls as early as 7:30 a.m. from Wells Fargo.  I will be writing a cease and desist letter to them.  Is there anything else you can recommend I do to get them to stop calling her?  Now they are pretending to be a potential client and using that to get info from my mother (we live in the same house, but I have an apt on the side of her home - technically, it is two separate residences).  I am not a deadbeat, just a victim of the economy.  I find it very offensive for people who work in collections to think we are all deadbeats if we can't afford to pay the 32.99% interest rates that most companies are charging on the cards I have (AND, I paid my bills up until 8/14/09 on time every single month, but still was told my rates were going up and up and up and up).  I asked 5 years ago for my rates to be lowered or I would consider bankruptcy.  Now that I haven't been paying, I'm getting voicemails from Advanta saying they can lower my rate to 16.9% - too late Advanta.  You lose.  You had your chance. Now not only will you not get paid, my life is ruined for a few years.
