I just posted my resume on monster.com yesterday and the insurance calls have started coming in. Someone named Corey left me a very hard to understand message from 602-812-3705 and asked me to call 1-800-803-6009 for more information about some job in Chesterfield.

A better idea is to accept the invitation for an interview. Insist on a breakfast meeting, no show-recall, re-accept...add nausea

Yup got the same quiet muffled message today. Recognized the number but was curios why AZ would be responding to a resume posted to Sacramento area business. I'm glad I had the common sense to google the number. Thanks to all of you preventing wasted time on my part.

This number called me too - saying I'm calling for (Me) about a "Career opportunity" in the_________(pauses literally 4-5 secs) and then says the city that's 45 minutes away from me - and then she asked me to call back and find out more about it.
No way am I going to waste my time responding to a inquiring about a "Career opportunity" when they make NO mention of any kind of work or company it's with.
It's sad how most of these BS 100% commission only opportunities, which are mostly financial/insurance or loser outside "account exec" sales jobs are spending so much resource trying to get people. This is my grave mistake for leaving my resume public on the job websites.

I too am searching for a new position but in ACCOUNTING as a Controller; can't imagine why this company would think I would be interested in sales. Thank you to everyone who has posted here; you have definitely saved me time and energy.

I am also in the midst of a job search. This number left me a voicemail saying they got my resume from CareerBuilder.com and that they wanted to discuss a potential job opportunity. However, they left no information as to what opportunity was available. Based on the posts Im seeing here it may very well have been Farmer's Insurance. However, my contact information is blocked on Career Builder so I am not sure how they got it and coincidentally I got an email form Farmers today recruiting me to be one of their agents. Maybe these two parties shared my info? The caller ID read "ADVC Recruiting". Whoever these people are they are playing games with people that legitimately need work. Glad I found this website. Deleted the message and moved on.

I received a call from this number with no message left so I looked it up here.  Although I no longer live in Phoenix I still have my 602 area code cell phone.  I have posted my resume on Career Builder and Monster.  It is a resume with 16 years in my particular field of travel agent.  I have received a number of calls from places like this and some directly from actual employers who want me to sell A) Insurance or B) "Financial Services.  I have zero experience in either.  I am happy to send people on a vacation to the islands, on a cruise or a trip to Omaha to visit Grandma.  I have no Idea what that has to do with Insurance or Financial services but I assume these callers are just looking for someone who has a sales background.  If someone calls and does not leave a message, I check them out first (as I did here) before making contact.  Good luck to all in your respective job searches.

If these calls are legitimate job offers, why all the secrecy, vague responses and BS? If it looks like a pig, snorts like a pig, it's most likely a pig!

You guys are idiots.Do you not have any common sense about CareerBuilder, hotjobs or monster? You post your information on a public website, recruiters will call you.Their just doing they're job,so lay off. Besides with no information about said company, how the hell can you say anything confidently without looking foolish. Know what your talking about before you blog your b***s***. Thanks.         -A Recruiter

They just called me and the message was:

"Hi this is (her name) I'm calling on behalf of (pause), I'm calling in regards to your resume posted on CareerBuilder. This is about a career opportunity in the Scottsdale area. I would like you to give us a call back at 1-800-203-6009. Anyone in the office will be able to assist you. And we'll be in the office until 7PM. We look forward to speaking to you soon, thank you and have a great day."

There are quite a few issues with this in my opinion.... Who is she calling on behalf of?? She never said. What type of career opportunity? Anyone would be able to assist? For a new job - I don't think so.. Generally only a manager or HR rep would be able to assist with that. I also don't feel comfortable calling an 800 number for a job interview.

I am in the midst of an oh so fun job search right now. Well, I got a call from (602) 569-6692 today and on the voicemail they said to call an 800 number about a "job opportunity". Why did they not give any kind of description about the position? Jeez, even if it was semi-vague. Why did they not say to call back on the aforementioned 602 number? Sounds like a sleazy company to me...

So 'Heather' called me as well and left a voicemail stating they had a job opportunity for me and she stuttered before stating the state, and managed to mutter Arizona" looks like shes making soo many calls she forgetting what state shes calling.

Places like this disappoint me, for those whom are actively looking for a job.

But I have recv'd numourse emails from Mutual of Omaha for sales job. Not interested and even emailed them to remove my info - didn't work. I did rec'v an email from Waddell too. Monsterjobs.com should be screening their database much better then this!

WOW. I felt it fishy when some female said my resume was picked up by Farmer's Insurance when I never even applied for ANY Insurance company. Then.... she tells me that the job was in Valencia... and that my interview was scheduled at 9am... I thought of it fishy because my resume clearly says that I won't be available to work until I finish school in December! Then I told her I couldn't make it on Tuesday but that I could come in Wednesday after 1:00pm. When she told me that the interviews ended at 11:30am I thought of it kinda even more fishy that she was rushing me to go Tuesday....And this bi*** doesn't even know me. I said okay and asked more about what company it was... she then told me it was to become an insurance agent and that they'd help me in 6 months become a district manager. I was like OH S***!!! MLM!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! It never ends does it?
this is round 2 for me

I am getting calls as I write. 2nd call came in a few minutes ago. The first was from an AZ telephone number; not unusual from Farmers...and I couldn't understand a word she said but made out "monster" and "resume".

They will call me back in about 5-minutes; guaranteed. About 2-months ago I got this call from Arizona and and 'actually' went to the interview in San Diego. Low and behold it was a cattle-call; a group of 6 who were presented Insurance careers. The meeting was definatley on the up-and-up and our presenter said that his assistant was helping with calls from her cell. that part was not on the up-and-up - who lives in SD with a 602 cell phone.AZ must be the home base. Anyway, it was a no-pressure meeting where they presented the tier process of making tons of money as an agent. Those who sign on will receive 1-wk paid training, and pay for your own $99 certification. After that, you're on your own on contract basis. I stated: So basically I can come on board, you pay me a much needed weeks salary and train me and I get licensed - and basically I could do this as a 2nd job and write off my failure at selling on my tax return. "HE" said yes and realized I might be smart enough to beat him at his own game. I you want to invest ~100.00, like sales and want a sideline... go for it.

Received a message on my mobile about seeing my resume on Monster. The message was very hard to understand - can't make out the company name or the person's name - it was a woman. After reading these posts I'm not inclined to return the call. They left a callback number that is completely different than the caller ID number - they left 800-203-6049

So how did your interview with Farmers go?  I have received many calls and e-mails, however I know there is a state and fed lic requirement that I'm just not ready to tackle as I'm still working on my BA. In fact I spoke to them a few months ago and told them I was not interested for the reasons stated above.  Just wondering..............

**FILE ONLINE ATTORNEY GENERAL COMPLAINT AGAINST THIS COMPANY FOR FRAUD/HARASSMENT*THIS COMPANY'S ACTUAL NAME IS CACTUS MARKETING LOCATED AT 3240 E. BELL RD., PHOENIX, AZ 85032-2727. The employees at this company are calling people without permission and openly committing fraud and harassment. They called my phone number (949-292-9194) on 8-13-09 and fraudulently alleged to have obtained my number from someone named Michael's resume. Additionally, the employee, Melissa claimed to be working for Famers Insurance. At a later time, the employee, Melissa told me that the company name was ARS. However, I read online that the phone number 602-569-6696 actually belongs to Cactus Marketing. Their calls to me were fully unsolicited and my number is registered with the National do not call list. My phone number was not submitted on any resume and this company is making the same fraudulent resume related allegation to countless others who they call without permission and harass. Employee melissa was outrageously rude, nasty, argumentative and hostile. She provoked me into becoming very upset and harassed me unnecessarily. I called the company back and spoke to another employee who was euqally as nasty and hostile. Finally, I reached a manager named Heather who stated that she would fax me a copy of the alleged resume that she claimed had been submitted with my phone number on it. I told her to fax the resume and she then changed her story and claimed that she could not. I've read many online posts that this company is calling endless other people and making the same fraudulent allegation about their phone numbers being submitted with another individual's resume. Obviously, people do not submit resume's including phone numbers that have belonged to other people for many months. The employees at this company are blatantly and repeatedly committing fraud and harassment, in addition to wasting peoples' cellular phone minutes. Please take action to stop the crimes that the employees from this company are knowingly committing on an ongoing basis. Thank You.

***PLEASE EVERYONE CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND FCC ABOUT THE ILLEGAL FRAUD AND HARASSMENT THAT THIS SHADY, EVIL IS BLATANTLY COMMITTING. THE FEMALE EMPLOYEES WILL LIE UNTIL THEY DIE AND THEY ARE OUTRAGEOUSLY NASTY AND RUDE. FRAUD AND HARASSMENT ARE ILLEGAL AND THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO RIGHT WASTING OUR CELLULAR PHONE MINUTES OR HARASSING US. SO, PLEASE EVERYONE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AND STOP THEM. I got a call from these lying psychos today and they told me the same b.s. story. They had the nerve to pretend that some guy named Michael put my phone number on his resume and submitted it to them which no person would waste time doing. I knew that they were lying, but instead of admitting the truth they became irate, nasty, provocative, argumentative and really pissed me off. I wasted my time arguing then called back several similar numbers asking for a manager. I finally talked to someone who pretended that she was a manager and she verified the fruadulent lie about a guy named Michael sumbitting a resume with my phone number on it.
