You answered your own post sir. The truth is that most of these con artists are using "throw away phones" that ar un-traceable and also spuff their phone numbers. I had a call oine day and called back and the receptionist was almost in tears as she stated that someone was using their number when soliciting people, giving a legit biz a bad rap. So what to do? The best way is to see if the phone company can be traced and than have the State Attorney go after them, and believe me they will if they can. But it is much like calling the police and telling them there is a man in my yard. I don't know what he looks like, how tall he is or how much he weighs. And he just left.

My situation is even worse! Not only do I not have a credit card, I don't even have a PHONE! But somehow they managed to call me, too! How do they do this? Can't you people on this here website do something about this? Or at least get me a phone so I can hang up on them? Thanks a bunch.
xoxo

I just press the number to talk to a representative, then hand the phone to my 2-year-old. Keeps 'em both entertained...

Dial 555-0001. Dial 555-0002. Dial 555-0003. Dial 555-0004. Et cetera. They don't "get" specific numbers; they dial EVERY number.
The real questions should be: (1) How do we get the location from which they are calling? (2) Who wants to meet me there? ;-)

Caller ID says BC FIN ASSIST
I do not need or desire the financial assistance of criminals and losers who tele market me.
Why don't you go *%&*#$ yourselves?
I reported you to the Do Not Call List but I think that probably makes no difference at all.
Happy scamming, you losers!

Do not call
| Lester 2013-06-07 12:06:47 Unknown |
The number has repeatedly called both my land line & cell phone. Caller ID gives the number and lists the caller as Barlett, Inc. I have never answered the call but my screeching fax machine has.
| xyzzy 2013-06-06 22:40:14 Unknown |
Just called my cell. I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message.
Telemarketing to cell phones is illegal anyway, so we know this is a criminal enterprise. No point in the do not call list.

Got a phonecall from this number just now 6-6-2013 4PM cst. I tried to speak with a rep but when I said I was not interested in lowering my interest rate on credit card they hung up. Then they called me back and I repeated my disinterest with their service and requested to be removed from the list. Hung up immediately. The number they called me back with was 5862313659. I'm filing a complaint right now.

Call from "Heather" at Card Services....on my CELL. Guess people got wise to "Rachel" so they've changed her name. What does it take to stop these people? DNC list is worthless.........

Oh I wouldn't say this site does "nothing". I find it very handy to look and see who called so I can decide if I should put them on my block list/blacklist or not.
That's me, taking responsibility for my own situation and doing something about it. These jerks will only call me once from that number.
If you think the government cares about who's calling you and disturbing your peace then you should probably re-think that.
Because the Do Not Call list was made law by people like us who were fed up and wanted our legislators to do something. The problem is, it costs more to prosecute violators than is usually recovered in fines and/or often the violators aren't even physically in this country where they can be arrested, subpoenaed, served a warrant, etc. Thus you can have your choice, should law enforcement spend it's limited resources on trying to track down Do Not Call violators or would you rather have them trying to catch robbers, rapists, terrorists and genuine threats to society?
If you think you can have both I've got a dandy bridge for sale real cheap that you might be interested in too.

on my cell this morning i got the same robovoice as others telling me i could lower my credit card interest rate to as little as 6.9% , i don't have a card, but i played along and pressed 1 to speak w someone.....she mentioned that i was in good standing w my card company, no late payments, but to qualify i had to have a total of 3500 in card debt, i said i have 5000 limit, but 800 debt, and that i would love to lower my rate, thinking they'd be eager to exploit the 4200 extra, but she said sorry sir you do not qualify and hung up.....it IS possible that they do actually refinance card debt at lower rates, but their methods are suspect at best.....and they ignore the dnc list

I dialed this number back, and a recording told me to press any key to be added to the "no call" list. I pressed a key, and it disconnected.

Received a recorded call today on my land line from Bartlett, Inc. at this number saying they were calling regarding my credit card, although they said there was no problem with my credit card. They wanted me to call them back to determine if I could lower my credit card interest to 6.9%. And I'm sure they'd want to know what my credit card number details are so they could transfer those cards to their scam.

got a call from my cell, I clicked on ignore but the number looked fishy, now I know. If I get another one, I'm reporting it to the national do not call registry.

This is a scam they should be shut down. When asking what financial institution the are linked to they disconnect. I worked for a Bank and this type of telemarketing is not good for the economy.

I missed this call a few minutes ago because I was on a landline at work. Like a darn idiot I called it back and got a message that said "to be added to the do not call list, press any key." Scam. I didn't hit any keys because then they might know they had a live person.
