Yesterday I received 31 telemarketing calls. It is now 12 noon and I have already gotten 6 calls. I need help. I am a disabled vet in very poor health and cannot change my number

We get these calls from this 602# to our cell numbers and work numbers.  For us, these are not taken from a resume.  We've yet to actually answer any of these calls.  We don't answer the ones to the cell and the ones to work are always in the eve so voicemail picks them up.  There's never any message.

i constantly keep getting calls from this number on my celluar phone.

Has called me 3 separate times and only left a message one.

The person that calls from this number is very harassing and it is a scam, just be careful.

I have had that number 602-889-6740 call my cell several times now... I DO NOT answer it though.
Can't they be reported? Does anyone know?

I just called them back.  The company is SMC.  Its a home based business offer.  Tom Bosley is on the website.  Whats odd is, I was looking for a home based business but never left information.  Very odd.  the message guides you to other toll free numbers depending on if you are looking for an account rep or if you want to reactivate your membership.

I get phone calls from 602-889-6740 a lot on my cell phone.
I had called SMC (as someone had mentioned that company before) late at night one day for information about their "company" but have never received any information, and now I keep getting these weird phone calls. Never any message. I never pick up, either.
They always just call & hang up. Phone doesn't ring more than twice.

Almost every other day 602-889-6740, and it's always late in the evening. I get it on my cell phone and my home phone. I signed on to the Do Not Call registry, so I'd like to know how they got the number, as there are only 7 people that have my cell number, and probably 15 with my home number. Any ideas how to stop this?

They have been calling me for 2 days. I also requested info from SMC

I just got a call from this number and I didn't answer because the area code was from out of state(I thought it might be my ex) but I didn't answer since it was just before two in the morning! Apparently it's SMC and that is crazy I have no idea who they got my number and why are they calling so late?

I told these people in no uncertain terms 3 times on 3 different occasions a couple weeks apart to stop calling my number.  Didn't get any calls until today.  These people are leeches and something should be done to stop these people from harassment. This guy told me I called them, which was a lie, I inquired on the web site and these people think it is a license to continue harassment. I told him if I wanted any more info I would have gone further than an inquiry. I don't let them get a word in at all. Scumbags

I JUST SIGNED UP WITH SMC  I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THEY ARE A SCAM OR NOT. I only showed interest due to the fact that i work for a survey company that pays me to do their surveys for all kinds of companies. He said his name is Syd and gave me an 1-800-794-8418 ext.2043 to reach him personally if i decide this is the company i would love to help me start my own business. He started out by showing me the web page for homegiftnet.com, i am not sure if its for real or not just want someone who does to let me know.

Basically this company has to do with SMC.

If you request information from SMC, due to their privacy policy, they have the right to then give your contact information out to other companies.  Because of this, you CANNOT file a report against these companies, as you are now considered to have done business with them.  The only thing I suggest for people is to be more aware of Privacy Policies and how your information is handled with the companies you do contact.  Or, if you are unsure, send fake contact info with a recently created e-mail address you can abandon, and see how things work out.

You sound like an advertisement for this company.

I have received several calls from this number but, I have not answered the phone. I do now however that SMC also known as Specialty Merchandise Corp., they are a company that has been around for many years, I believe about 50 or more. The company is legit and though I can not say that the number that is calling every one is actually part of that corp. as they are located in California and the number is calling from Arizona. I can not go into to many details about their company as that is something you will have to look into for yourself. Visit the site or call them to find out for yourself.

i didnt recognize the number and i didnt answer the phone. i figure if it is important whoever called will leave a message.no message of course.

Do Not Call Registry is a joke.  Don't bother.  These people just change the number they are calling from.  I've been dealing with this for months.  They stopped calling for a few weeks and now have started again.  I have never been to that website or heard of the company and have never put a resume on any website.

My idiot husband decided to ask them for some info about what they offer.  That's when the constant calls started.  So far they have called at least 5-20 times a day, when we don't answer they call even more.  They even call from different numbers to make you think it's someone else calling.  They never leave messages and then when we finally answered so my husband could talk to them, they ignored all of his questions, kept talking over him and asking him if he wanted to pay $300 plus for their membership, needless to say he got annoyed and hung up on them and guess what....they called back another 6 times after that..sometimes they even call at 8 in the morning.  As a result my hubby can now sleep on the couch until he can get them to stop calling lol...  Hopefully he can get them to stop calling and hopefully he learned his lesson.

It's a legitmate company. The offer products which are available for drop shipment. It is a good way to make some extra-money. Some people even make it their "career" as a stay-at-home self-employed worker.

They do get a bit annoying, but if you tell them the first time you aren't interested they'll stop calling you.

I initially opted out of receiving their calls and told them I wasn't interested. Then I became unemployed and took them up on the offer. I believe I paid around $425, but they broke into monthly payments for me over the course of a year. I've done pretty well with them. In fact, I am one of those stay-at-home self-employed workers now, thanks to them!

This is SMC e-commerce trying to get you to buy one of their websites--we had one for a short time--very expensive, and wasn't worth what we had to pay.  The main website is smcorp.com.  They are an ok company but the website sales are outsourced and very pushy.

I put my number in this company just to see if I wanted to do it aswell. When they first called up I told them I had to think about it. Then, my cell started blowing up. They would call 4-5 times a day and it was really starting to bug me. Finally, I told them I wasn't interested and to take my number off of their list. I thought it was over until just recently (4 months later). My phone started up again with the same number, but I've ignored it. This is really starting to pi** me off.

this phone number 6028896740 called me yesterday saying they were calling from smc, the truth is there is this smc company that sells stuff 2 months ago i got to be a member of them buying stuff at a lower fee, and resell them, oh well the company smc seems to work well so far, but ever since i got involved into this i have been getting calls from area code 602, they say they are calling on behalf of smc, saying to upgrade to this membership and that wish i havent fall for it, i spoke to smc and they said to first at all this people need to have your membership number, so if they call to ask at first to provide u with your smc member number becouse only you and smc know your member number nobody else, if they refuse to give it to u or ask u for it, dont give it!!, if they try to avoid the question tell them to stop calling!! its a pain in the butt to have this people bother you when u have tons of stuff to do!!
