Called me at work and hung up.

I got a call from this number today on my cell phone. Same crap about lowering my interest.  It really irritates me that I'm paying for the time for these clowns to call me on my cell phone!

Called me saying he wanted to lower my interest rate on my VISA & M/C. Said he was from Card Services and needed to verify my Credit Card number. Told him no way!

Just got a call from 603-214-3633...based on everyone being so nice to enter this scam phone number here on 800notes, I did not answer.

This number is from a tiny town in NH bordering Maine; nothing there but trees and more trees, nice snow cover for outdoorsy folks, etc.  I stop there to eat at a "mooseburger" restaurant---very nice people.  Gotta love these creeps who give the town a bad rep, though, hah!  Wish I were clever enough to "lower their rates!"    I even get calls on my work cell and landline for the same thing---from many other predators--including those from overseas!  Geesh!

called on 12/22 @12:40 to my work number. This was the 3rd time I've gotten this call. The first time I pressed 2 to get it removed. The 2nd time I pressed 1 to ask that it be removed. This is the 3rd time, so I figured I'd write it down and google the number and this is where I wound up.

Rachel wants to lower my interest rates apparently.

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone. Did not answer and Googled to see if others received calls.

12/21/2009 got the call, I answered and was given the option of pressing 1 to continue or 2 to discontinue. I wrote down the phone number from caller ID. The call was dropped just as a finished writing the last digit.

Just recieved call from this number.  Presented with same message about returning call to lower my interest rates.  Hit 1 to speak to a live represenative, or 2 to discontinue notices.  I was curious, so I hit 1.  I was connected to a man (could hear other callers in background) that asked me to verify number i was reached at.  Then said he had to ask me a couple of questions to verify that I still qualify for these 'lower interest rates.'  He asked me what my outstanding credit card debt was.  I told him $1500.  He said something to the effect of "Thats it?  You still qualify."  Then he hung up.  I presume they prey on people that have large sums of debt and lure them into providing more information.

Just got this call on our internal help desk line. Stated she was Rachel and wanted to lower the interest. I pressed 1 to see what it was. I could hear some guy in the background talking about tasting something to another person and then they realized I could hear them and hung up.

Called 12/18/2009. I did not answer as I never answer calls of this type.
Secondly, I am retired and only use one card that is paid within 2-3 days of any purchase.

They still at it.  Called me at work. Recording said that "This is Rachel from Cardholder Services. There is no problem with your account, but it is urgent that you contact us about lowering your rate."

They called me too.  Anytime I get an un solicited call I come here.  It was obviously a phishing call, trying to get credit card information.

Called my fax line...

I agree that cold calls should be illegal; but this caller apparently isn't interested in abiding by the law, since they are calling my phone which is on the federal Do Not Call list.

Sounds like someone trying to steal identities and credit card numbers.

called my landline home phone today, said that it was my last chance to lower my card's interest rate, then told me if i wanted to, to click 1.  i clicked 1 and it rang and rang, and then there was nothing, no dial tone or anything.  Like my phone had been disconnected or something.  both phones had no dial phone.  i went and pushed the cord all the way into the wall, and then my phones worked again.

Same thing.  I think cold calls to people that you have no existing lines of business with should be illegal.  I'm sure it is either fraud/identity theft or telemarketers.

Just got a call from this number on my cell.  I didn't recognize it so didn't answer it.  No msg was left by the caller.

Same call.  I was at work and I hung up because I do not even have a credit card.  What is really going on?

This number called me while I was sleeping. Judging by the postings on other comments on here, they must have been mass calling people today hah.

Similar thing happened to me.  Called at work telling me that there was nothing wrong with my credit but that i needed to call back immediately to lower my interest rates.  There was no mention of the credit card company.

I only have a Discover, which is paid off every month.

Called and hung up on voicemail.

Pressed 1 to speak with like person. The person was cut off mid sentence.

And I really need those lower rates.

Called my work as well left message about lowering interest rates, but no mention of card name of number.

Exact same thing happened to me (Ronik).  I asked what name was on the account, was placed on hold, and then they hung up.  I tried calling back but received a busy signal.
