These scums continue to call every couple days, despite being told repeatedly we're on DNC and to stop calling. They were using a code for company name that was a "V" followed by the numeric date and some other numbers. Today it showed as "Manchester, NH". They've called about 15 times in the last month. Complaining to FCC seems to accomplish nothing.
As I mentioned in my previous post, it's a cleverly recorded message from "John in the shipping department" that's made to sound like it's a live person, but it's actually a recording. He makes it sound like he's shuffling through papers and reading from them that my package is already paid for and the shipping is paid for. If you wait through his spiel, at the end he says press 1 to get the package and 5 to stop them from calling. Of course 5 does not stop them from calling.
Sometimes, if I have time, I like to press 1 and make the person on the other end go through their whole spiel. I interrupt them often and ask them to repeat, re-explain, etc. When we get to the good part, where they want my address, followed by my credit card info for the "free" product, I tell them I have just wasted as much of their time as I could, and I will continue to do so as long as they keep calling here.

We have had over 45 calls from this number into our company today selling "Life Line" products. Recorded message played, asks you to press a number to get to an agent and they ask for a cc#. Police and Phone company notified as this is a nationwide scam. Police ID'd this as originating out of Nigera.
Number is spoofed, when calling it back you get a message that the number is disconnected.Caller: Life Line
Call Type: Telemarketer

This is the lamest imaginable attempt to make a robocall sound live. It left a message on my machine and obviously started talking before the beep.
====
Message script (starts in mid-sentence):
...the same system you've seen on TV. Looks like the system's been uh, recommended by thousands of hospitals and medical professionals. Let's see [sound: rustling of papers] says here that the system's already been paid for, looks like you're getting the system because uh, either yourself, a family member or maybe even someone you know has experienced a fall in the past. So, uh, again it's already been paid for so there's no cost to you whatsoever. Also says here that the shipping's also been paid for. So to uh, schedule the delivery of your medical alert system, press 1. Again, to have the system shipped out to you press 1 now. Press 5 to decline shipment of the system.
[DIFFERENT VOICE]:
If you already have a medical alert system, please disregard this message. Again, if you already have a medical alert system, please disregard this message.
=====
Now, if this were a live caller, would he be telling me to press 1 to schedule delivery? Would another voice finish the message with "...if you already have a..."? Wouldn't a live human just ask the questions? Would he think HE's talking to a live human after my answering machine gives its schpiel? BTW, my outgoing greeting says "...If you're trying to sell us or lend us anything, please hang up and do not try your call again...", and my number is on the DNC list.
Even ignoring that the message on my answering machine starts in mid-sentence, this has to be a serious contender for the stupidest robo-call ever recorded.

Received a call this am from 603-263-0306, but missed the call. Tried to call back but recording said that number was disconnected. Another scam from low lifes. I am tempted to contact Life Alert to inform them of this. Interesting that this page carries an ad for Medical Alert!

Does the number have v70518210004709, that the call is from? I tried to call the # back & received a recording that the number is no longer in service.

Call to say medical alert system someone ordered for me was on its way and the shipping was already paid for. Also states to disregard the call if you already have a medical alert system. No one ordered the alert system for me. Fortunately, this company did call again and their whole conversation is recorded on my Comcast account answering system. Let them try to deny they are calling when I submit a copy of every word of scamming! We are on a do not call list as well.

I get calls from this number over and over all day long. I send it to voicemail and I get nothing. When you answer that start going on about some alert system and I hang up. I have reported this numerous times as I am on the do not call list but they still keep right on calling.

Ditto to the calls received above. I actually thought John was a live person!

Sounded like a live person but did not respond when I tried to talk to him, he was claiming that we had ordered or someone had for us a medical alert system and that is was already paid for. When I received no response I hung up.

I just received a call from these charlatans telling me we have been selected as the winner of an "absolutely free" home medical alert system..."you know - the 'I've fallen and can't get up' kind" (they actually said this). They reiterated that this system would be sent to me at no cost, "simply press 9 to arrange for shipment". By calling me, these clowns have committed a couple of offences:
1. Violated the national and state Do Not Call list, on which we are listed; and
2. greeted me with a taped message, which is an additional FCC violation regardless of my status on any Do Not Call list.
Because of space limitations on my phone, the caller ID simply showed "New Hampshire". They gave me the option of pressing '5' to remove us from their call list, and I took them up on it. We'll see.....

Same caller, same recorded message. Called the last three days. Caller ID is bogus, a disconnected number. Reported to the FCC:

Called me and when I answered, I got a very long silence until
they hung up. Calling back got me an automated message saying
number is disconnected.

Same guy keeps calling here, several times a day. John at Life Alert.

No message left, but calling several times a day
Dani 2013-06-18 21:18:41 Unknown
Definitely not a live call. I kept trying to talk to the guy and the script didn't change. Same issue: shipping department, alert system, etc.
Lori D. 2013-06-18 16:21:52 Telemarketer
Same here. It was quite strange because it sounded live, and the caller paused when I spoke, but the script did not change. It seems like a sophisticated robo-call. I reported them. Thank you guys for doing the same.

Same occurance.three times..guy named John with my sr. medical alert alarm...all paid for...pushed no 1, got a man and I asked to talk to a supervisor....wanted to know my name, I told him, just get your supervisor, and when the supervisor got on the phone, I told him we received three of these calls and each time I pressed 5 not to be bothered again, but this time, I told him we did not order, nor do we want this item...please remove my number from your call list....He said we would not be bothered again...we will see!.

This guy called with a pre-recorded medical alert message. I hit #1 to speak with someone but phone just hung up. He called twice.

Same problem as BrianNH above. Trying to con seniors (none living here) to buying life alert. Called saying he was John and was going to drop off my life alert system. Obviously trying to do get semi senile seniors to think he's legit. Might call the FCC and Atty general as well.
brianNH 2013-06-10 20:23:55 Telemarketer
call from "John from shipping department", trying a new variation on the epidemic of trying to con seniors into buying Life Alert systems. He sounds like a real live call, but I didn't stay on line long enough to converse with him. He tries to make it sound like the system is already ordered, and he's just calling to confirm shipping address. To be followed, no doubt, by "confirming" the credit card number to charge it.
He's called numerous other times. I only have a record of the last 2 calls. Other phone numbers shown are 603 285-9157. It's all the same guy - I recognize his voice. Claims to be "John from shipping department". Each time he calls, the caller ID is spoofed to show name of caller as a version of the date - like today's call said V61015351004690 above the phone number. When he called on May 29, it showed as from 603 285-9157 (but definitely same guy) and the company info said V52912124204690. Each time he calls, we tell him we are on Do Not Call and to stop calling, but he keeps calling back.
If he calls again, I'll check and see if it's a live call.
I have filed complaints with FCC and NH Atty General's Office about this crook.
