The iPhone 5s does allow you to block callers, hit the info button and scroll down and you'll see block caller.

Nashua, NH. Called my mobile number on 6/2/14.   Left no message.

Received call, did not answer, no message left.  Looked up number and found these posts.  Have received calls like this in the past under a different number that I have blocked.  Phone number was 603-414-1932.  Now it appears that the calls are coming in under 603-589-7240 which I have also added to my blocked list.  Very annoying!

I just got a call from this number and let it go to vm since I didn't recognize it. A recorded message was left about some offer for homeowner's insurance. How do these people get our numbers? Sheeesh.

Automated call, trying to sell a home security system

I live in Maine and got a call.  Sent directly to VM and they didn't leave a message.  Annoying!

It's the government calling'  know anyone on probation? Know anyone including yourself that they might be investigating? They have many resources available to them and they use these to see if you will call back.

I found this number in my "missed calls folder" listed as 2 days ago but I know I had my phone on and with me, I also know I was at home and heard no ring.
I am currently job hunting, so the first thing I did was check my list of "call back numbers" since I actually am in NH.
Finding it here is a relief since I would hate to miss a call from a prospective employer. LOL

Just called me.

Phone rang at  5pm.didnt recognize number..no voice mail left oh well...

I'll get one these every few months. Don't recognize the number so I don't answer it. I google it to check other possible victims. Confirm what I suspected. Open up my iPhone to my contacts and enter the number. Scroll to the bottom and click Block This Number. That's always the end of number. At lease for a few more months.

Same here....called...no ID..launched into a "Press 1 to get off the list".  WTF? I looked it and it is a "Windstream Landline in Nashua, New Hampshire". Hope someone gets them. Go to it!

I have a Samsung Rugby. Go to call logs find last number you received and hold down lightly. A menu will pop up. Press add to black list.It will keep them from using that number again.

i got a call from 603-589-7240 and did not answer.  i logged into my Virtual Office system and added them to my call forwarding rule: drop call (caller gets a busy signal). i'll never hear from them again!

Called my cell 6:59 4/30/14, I didn't recognize the number, so I didn't answer. No voice mail message left.

Your iphone can absolutely block calls. Click the circled letter i next to the number in your call history, scroll down, and tap on "Block this caller"

I don't know why this guy was spreading misinformation. This has been a feature of iPhones for a while.

Answered once asked them to take me off list and just got a call again 1:29pm on 4/30/14 I didn't answer this time

got a call at my work on the emergency phone no less so it scared the hell outta me as that phone is emergency only and had a ridiclous loud ring. its a recording about a home security system. pretty lame..

Been getting called a bunch by this number. Never answered, but I called the number back and it told me to press any digit to be removed from the calling list. Not sure why they called in the first place, but calling them and pressing a number seems to have successfully removed me from their calling list.

They are fishing for live telephones. They dial numbers at random. If someone answers they sell your number to telemarketers.  Don't answer.
