I have been waiting for the Attorney Gen to send me info if they found Barboza violated wage and hours law--they did and they have a civil citation-and now i have to go to court with others if we want--and get triple damages.
New Tel # for Barboza is 774.470.2445 from a new ad on craiglist for Spring Telemarkerters and they posted that they have a package for the telemarkers about how they will get paid.
Call and see if they hire you and if you will get paid-you will get hired you will not get paid.
I'm not done with Barboza.

THIS IS A TIMESHARE SCAM BEWARE! The "gift package" is useless.  4 round trip airfares that are impossible to use.  There are very few times that you can use the airfare tickets and the hotels that they make you stay at are VERY EXPENSIVE! they make their money back by jacking up the prices on the hotels that they make you stay at...and yes you must stay at their hotels for a minimum of 8-14 nights in order to use the plane tickets.  I went to one of the previews at Their HarborWalk hotel in Falmouth Mass.  Terrible experience.  They gave us a free room that was smelly and dirty.  I cant believe that people actually pay to stay there.  VERY HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS!!!  Treated us like crap because we didnt want to buy their crappy timeshare.  TERRIBLE SCAM and they will harass you FOREVER...even if you go to the preview!!!  DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BLOCK THE NUMBER AND DO NOT FILL OUT ANYMORE OF THOSE "RAFFLE TICKETS".  ITS A  TRICK AND A SCAM...HUGE WASTE OF OUR TIME.  I cant believe I fell for it.  never again

So far all I see is what looks like ill informed people and ex employees on this site. Is there anyone who can offer real info??? Or are these forums set up to spout off random complaints and problems that do not address the underlying issue that I believe brought us all to this website (Is this real?) I have been on timeshare tours before and have had a pleasant time, but I've also been duped by those who would represent themselves as legit. I could really use the airfare and don't mind viewing the property, as long as its real. Anyone that has been to a tour or done anything with this company please chime in.

Has anyone ever successfully gotten these people to stop calling? I got the first call this morning - it's at a different number 603-689-7680.

Same exact pitch, come pick up your tickets at a hotel. He didn't tell me I'd sit through the presentation but I assume we'd have to. I asked him outright if it was a sales pitch for a time share. He said no. Then I asked if the airline tickets were no strings attached. I said I was only interested if I could come get the tickets - I don't want to stay in their hotel. He danced around the question but I said I only wanted the plane tickets that's fine. I can do my own research and get deals on hotels - I've traveled around the world and hate staying in crappy, typical hotels. I like local b&bs, etc. He said I could stay where I want. LIE.

What got me to call him back is that I did sign up for a gift card contest at the Marshfield Fair - to Home Depot. I just bought a house so I was hoping I actually won that. Ugh.

So I have a "appt" in a few weeks to pick up my tickets. I don't want to call and cancel because I don't want to talk to anyone again. I blocked their phone number through my service provider but I also don't want him to figure out my work or other numbers. Any advice from someone who has been successful in getting them to stop calling.

I also got a call from someone who sounded very nice. I was confused about the prize, as I didn't remember entering anything for "vacation" or "travel" --- now reading your post... THIS is what I entered. For Petco!

When I called, the woman who left me the message was unavailable. I was passed on to someone else in the "prize department" -- listened to the speech, set up a time for next week to claim my prize at the closest location of Maine (1.5 hour drive), and after I hung up the phone I started thinking. Hrmm. A friend of mine "won" something similar from another company. So, I reached out to her, and did my research online. Nothing but negative comments. This tread, wow, one of the employees, Justin T --- SO unprofessional. Any company who has an employee going on threads and making those kinds of comments is NOT a reputable company. If you truly want to SOLVE the customer's problems, reply to them, let them know where they can reach you, and then handle their questions/concerns/fears offline. You do NOT bash them on a thread.

At any rate, after thinking about it for the night, I called in today to let them know I would not be coming to claim my prize, that it was too far away, and I simply wasn't interested. The woman who answered the phone was shocked. "Too far? How far are you driving? We have people who travel for 4-5 hours? Are you 6 hours away or more?" I said I was only 1.5 hours away, but it was still too far for me. She sounded a bit rude when she replied, and said "you know you're getting 4 free airline tickets, a $40 gift card, and an overnight stay worth ~$150.... right?" --- I said "yes, I understand, and while I appreciate the offer, I don't really plan on traveling, so coming up with the money for the required nights stay is not something I'm interested in, and the drive to claim the prize is too far, so again, thank you for the offer, but it's not for me and I'm going to pass."

While I don't think this is a SCAM as others have said, I do think it's a sales tactic that has some shady pieces to it. Buyer beware -- or in this case "winner" beware. For me, it wasn't worth the time, effort, or energy go find out the fine print. For someone else, it might be.

Ok, I will admit I was caught completely off guard this morning when I got a phone call saying I won one of the biggest prizes.  The woman stated "you were at Pooch-a-Palooza and you got picked" She seemed SO genuine and excited for me.  She stated that she was so excited to be able to give this prize away to my husband and I.  I set up a meeting for tomorrow and then got thinking... this has to be too good to be true!  I've been on several threads researching and have seen nothing but negativity.  Drive several hours to get the tickets?  Hmmm...
Also, after I got thinking the only thing I entered for was a $500 Petco gift card!  I was not at a home show or Home Depot where it would even make sense to have a time share sweepstakes! Weather this is a scam or not and you do get the tickets it is completely under false pretenses.  I signed up for a Petco gift card at a DOG SHOW in Canton, MA.  How the heck would a time share company get my info???  Looking back what a GREAT actress the woman was, props to her on that.

I spoke with someone just today and found it very curious that when I asked her to email some information to me, as I was not somewhere that I had access to a pen and paper at that moment, she stated that she did not have access to a computer at that time and could give me the information on my cell phone voicemail.  Just curious how it could be that your staff would not have computers, or if they have computers, that they don't have the ability to send information via email as requested.  Is there some concern about someone being able to follow the electronic email trail in case of legal action of some kind?  Just curious...

Recommend you use spell check.  It is "we're"  not "were.'  If legit, why a credit card for ID?  A credit card is not legal identification and can be forged more easily than government issued ID.  So what you are saying is that if I got a call, showed up for the presentation and to receive my "gift", if I refused to show a credit card, but showed you my driver's license, I would be refused?  Hmmmmm...sound hinky to me.

I don?t know if I would call this a full blown ?scam? but it?s certainly shady. I got a call from a guy named John a couple months back. John tells me that my ticket was drawn and that I won a pretty significant prize. I had attended the New England Bike show in Boston a month or so earlier. I remember entering my ticket along with some demographic info. Yeah, my name was picked based on my demographic info. I didn?t really ?win? anything I just fit the profile of a typical time share buyer/owner. I do not own a time share nor do I ever want to own one. I?ve had family members who purchased a time share and got burned big time. They wanted me and my significant other, A, to come up to spend a complimentary night in Maine at this resort. Inn At The Falls in Ogunquit, Maine. They booked us and we stayed over but the next morning we had to sit through a 90 minute sales presentation to buy a time share. First off, the resort wasn?t that impressive. The rooms had hot tubs and fireplaces but the hot tub in our room was dirty. We called for the staff to clean it but we still didn?t use it. The fire place was a nice touch but the room was very dated and showing it?s age. The next morning we had an ok breakfast and we attending the sales presentation. I already wasn?t interested in buying. Surprisingly there was not really any pressure. After it was over they sent us on our way with our free gifts. 4 free round trip airlines tickets, a destination guide book, and a $40 gas card. Now for the catch with the airline tickets. They are some blackout dates you can?t use them on. Major holidays, spring break time frame, etc. There are minimum night stays depending on the destination you choose. The further you travel the longer they want you to stay. Ok that?s fair. Here?s another rub. You are required to use one of the hotels listed in the guide book. The prices of the rooms are grossly inflated. We want to go to Paris for a week this summer for A?s birthday. Well, those dates are blacked out. Ok no problem, we?ll compromise and choose another date. Turns out our minimum night stay is 10 nights and there is only one hotel in Paris to choose from. The room cost for that season is $324US a night, not including taxes, other charges. So, I?m looking at around $3240US plus taxes and fees for two for Paris for 10 days. But hey they are flying us for ?free?. I went on that hotel?s website and to book direct with them for the same dates and same type of room would only be around $150US/night. Of course if I did that option then we would have to pay for our flights. Seems like it would cost about the same amount, maybe less. I know for a fact that we can do better than this supposed ?deal.? We have two years to use the ticket vouchers, but if we don?t use them I guess it?s no big deal. At least we got a free night stay in Maine and a free gas card. We did have dinner the night before a nice Italian restaurant up the road.

To all of you who are reading or posting on this site, I would like to give you a different perspective on Northeast Getaways.  I am currently a phone rep for this company.  Many of us are good, hardworking people. We are high school and college students, parents and grandparents.  For some of us this is our first job, for others we are returning to the workforce and our chosen profession is no longer an option.  Almost all of us enjoy talking on the phone.  None of us are rich or evil.  Most of us are like you and appreciate having a job.

As far as I know, this is not a scam, but a good deal. We as people have almost all had some experience with scams and are leery of good news from strangers, especially faceless ones over the phone.  We actually understand that the average person in today's world is skeptical.  We have been trained to fully explain our offer and reassure you that what we say is true.  We would not knowingly lie.  We get paid only if you come preview one of our properties.  If anyone of our company is less than pleasant to you, we truly do not know unless you call us back.  We call entry forms that have been given to us by our supervisors, and have no say in which ones we are given.  None of us want to knowingly call someone who does not want to talk to us.  If we continue to leave messages or call without leaving messages it is because when you don't answer we assume you are not at home.  If you answer and are rude or short with us most of us will try to be polite in return.  If you tell us you have been previously called and do not want any more contact from us, we will put your entry form in a do not call bin.  Do we make mistakes? Absolutely. Do we love everything about our company?  Absolutely not. But remember, we are just doing the best job we can with the information and job that we have, just like most of you.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this which brings me to the last point I'd like to make. Many of us are good people who are struggling in this poor economy.  Many of us complain that nobody is doing anything, yet we are almost all able to do something about it. Remember, when someone does contact you about something like this, know that in many instances it is an honest person trying to make a living on the other end.  By being open minded and positive, you have the chance to help that person's budget, along with all the other people that you encounter - their supervisor, call center manager, resort personel, vacation destination workers...etc.  That in turn helps the economy and yourself.  I know there are many scams out there.  With a bit of your time and diligence you can avoid them while still taking advantage of and promoting your economy and well being.

We just received the same call from KWC Marketing saying that my daughter had her name drawn from an entry at the Marshfield (MA) Fair (last August!).  When I told the caller that the same message had been given her last fall, and how could that happen again, he said that it was possible to have the same name drawn twice.  I told him that we had investigated NE Getaways and KWC and that it was not on the up-and-up.  And I hung up.  The entry that my daughter filled out was for a free grocery card; no mention of the names being used for anything else.  I am going to let the Marshfield Fair know not to host these people who are dishonest about their entry purposes.

Hi, was the PDF you linked to specifically from Northeast Getaways? We were hoping to sit through their 90 minute presentation for the airfare as we are flying to London in June. We are not staying in London however but was thinking we could just pay the hotel fee for minimum night stay and it would work out cheaper than paying for the airfare. Per the PDF, this is not the case. Also, the dates we need to fly are blacked out for some unknown reason as it is not close to Easter or Christmas. The presentation is an hour away so really only want to go if the airfare is worth it. We cannot afford to buy into any vacation club at the moment. Thanks for any direction you can provide.

Unfortunatetly this 'gentleman' will not take no for an answer.  Yes, my husband filled out some 'entry' forms at a motorcycle show in NY nearly a year ago.  We have told this representative that we are not interested time & time again... 6 times to be exact (not including the messages he's left).  He calls the cell phone and then the home phone and leaves messages requesting us to return his call and to pick up our $6,000.00 in prizes.  When we tell him we are not interested and ask him to remove our # from his list, he continues to speak over us and simply will not stop to listen to our request to STOP CALLING!  We have finally threatened to file harrassment charges if we continue to receive these calls.  I understand everyone needs a job and this may be a legit company, but respecting the clients request of complete disinterest should be honored.  Not a company I would ever work with no matter how good the deal is!
