I have also worked for kirby twice, the first time was not a great experience. The second time was at MCM Merchandising and i love that job, they are so positive and care about the people that want to work and help themselves..................learn this, YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE or YOU ARE A VICTIM, there is no between. Your perception was clouded by your inability to work. Also, i made more than a lawyer salary my last year. Place blame where it needs to be placed.

Your all pathetic.  Bottom line is Kirby harasses via excessive telemarketing. Everytime they call i call them back 5 times and hang-up.   I've told them to stop and they won't...so im gonna waste their if they waste mine.  Im done with these loosers.

Hi..My name Is Robert, I worked for Kirby for about 5 months. I drove from Groveton NH to Concord NH every single day. It was a 119 miles ONE way. They promised me the world, and I never got ANYTHING that they promised. My Dad was my first sale He loves the vacuum but, It was way over priced! Mr. Rick Smith Is a VERY GOOD, and I MEAN GOOD Scam artist. They tell you that If u stick with It you'll be a millionaire If you stick with It, and not to mention the "sign up bonus" Haha biggest joke OF MY LIFE! I only traveled that far because they had me convinced that It was "tax write off" at the end of the year. That's a crock of b***s***. I lost my car because I didn't get paid the promised commission If I sold the Vacuum, and I could never get the 15 demos, because they simply didn't supply the 15 demos a week. I spent 1,500 In gas, and ONLY made 1,300. The extra 200 that I spent was money that I borrowed from my Dad. And, NONE Of It was "tax write off" because my expenses were more than my income. I got slammed, and now I have to pay the IRS! Please everybody spread the word about the mother f****rs. They are RICH because they rip employees, and customers off! They'll sell a blind person one of these vacuums. We gotta stop them! They also said that we didn't have to pressure customers Into buying these vacuums B***S***! They pressure you into pressuring them when u call them at the end of the demo. It's NOT fair, and this needs to STOP! I'm ready to go there, and do something VERY bad! Anybody have ANY questions at all please feel free to text me/Call me 16033483212!

You never made money because you have no ambition and decided not to put a 100% into the company, they are not going to pay you for nothing. If you don't work you shouldn't eat. The Kirby is a grey product along with the people the work there, don't be mad for your laziness.

They call without identifying themselves first, then they ask for you by your first name as trying to pretend they're a friend vs. a business. You have to ask them who they are. Totally unprofessional demeanor. Then when you tell them, you aren't interested, they continue talking as you're hanging up the phone. Begging is really unbecoming. No means no.

Sorry if they are your friends. I am on the do not call list and yet they called me ignoring federal law. I reported them and hope they receive the fine that they deserve. Anyone on the do not call list who receives a call from the crooks, go to the do not call registry site and report them. Lets get thes interrupter of our dinner and family time off of our backs.

I just want to interject, if I may:

In my brief experience with MCM Merchandising, I have learned a few things, which I will gladly share.

First, it is important to understand that MCM is one of a number of independent contractors which sell the Kirby vac. The sales guys [and gals] there are hired as sub-contractors. This means that Kirby Co. Has virtually zero central control over what's going on at ground level in regards to the consumers. In turn, MCM may be embarrassed by the actions of subcontractors--though it is unlikely that any SubCons who reflect poorly on MCM will keep their contact for long.

This may seem like a stupid sales model. On the other hand, Kirby Co. spends exactly 0% of their yearly budget on advertising. It's just their business model. They've been in business for nearly a century, so I guess it's been working.

The people who've worked there for a while are pretty nice, but as someone mentioned before, sometimes some shifty people do manage to get jobs for maybe a week or two before they are weeded out. I am guessing that the heretofore mentioned salespeople are no longer with MCM-though without specifics I cannot say for certain.

Without doubt, the current model (Sentria 2) is a serious piece of hardware. This beast will "suck the chrome off a trailer hitch" if you know what I mean. It's a bit of overkill for Mrs. John Q. Public in the 21st century, but it is a perfect vac for small motels, personal cleaning services, or OCD/germaphobes.

The current MSRP for the Sentria 2 is $2545. That price doesn't officially include the attachments but they should be included anyway at that price. Either way, I don't need to point out that that's expensive as hell for a vacuum. But again, we're talking about a serious piece of hardware. Of the salesperson quotes anything higher, you are being gypped. But, do see what you can negotiate. I wouldn't expect getting any lower than $1500 at a rock bottom. Lower than that and the salesperson is losing commission.

So, what's the verdict? If you pick up the phone and accept the demonstration, you might risk an annoying salesdude button-holing you for an hour or so and working the hard sell. On the other hand, you might get a really thorough cleaning.

... Hope this helped inform.

Everyone, this is my exhusband. Although he is right about the owners of this store (they are probably the nicest people you will ever meet), they hire scumbags. Hence why I am commenting here. This was one of them.

From what I understand, if you are getting a call from Kirby, bet you $10 a friend of yours (or even someone you barely know) gave it to them.  From what my friend said, she had to give so many names/numbers for the cleaning - so I don't know if the DNC list applies since they did not get your list from someone that 'may' have had permission to give your information.

Actually I think if you read his post he didn't suggest he would inflict physical harm on anybody. There's some talk about the sound of a police whistle hurting someone's ears and his/her dogs 'getting' them should they enter into his/her property. I really don't think the police would be interested in that, do you?

A hundred houses huh? Well thats funny because if you've shown the equipment too many times, Ron takes it and goes through it top to bottom, replacing the box is because of wear and tear, being that it is cardboard and we recycle them... Your too much.
We bully our customers? Im sorry but I have never had to bully anyone into anything, people happen to like me, like the Kirby and like the way it makes their carpet look so they are more than willing to try and help me go to work by showing their friends how great the machine is as well. We take damn good care of our people and if you didnt get your 15 it was not our telemarketers or our company... We have a system here, a system that works... There are so many ways to get paid here its crazy!

In fact, they are not allowed to call if someone is on the Federal No Call List.  From the messages here, I have come to the conclusion you are all calling from MCM Merchandising, located in the same building to the right of the Sherman Williams Paint store, in Rochester, NH.  Is that correct? Understandably, Washington has seen fit to stick it to us all who have lost our jobs, and understandably, what you are doing is probably one of the few jobs being advertised for non-college folks.  It isn't your fault, but understandably, it isn't mine either.  You see, I am in the same boat after my company closed and put quite a few people out of work.  However, this does not give you, or anyone else the right to bother me.  As I explained, Federal laws are being broken when you call those of us who are on the Federal No Call List. Perhaps you should check Laws before shooting off your silly mouth. You could come to my home and knock on my door, but the big sign outside to keep people away, means...I'll call the police if you enter my property, if my dogs do not get to you first. The dogs, like you, don't understand what Federal No Call List means either.

Dear Wow, You forgot to leave your home phone number so I could call it day and night. You give Kirby vacuums a very bad name.  Want to call me again, the police whistle might just seriously hurt your arrogant ear drum. Sign me...sitting by the phone in anticipation.

Wow, I went by there today, saw the "now hiring" sign and thought, "Greatl!"  I had no idea it was selling Kirby vaccumes. I will not be asking for a job there, as I am not pushy at all. I would never make it as a sales person there. I must say that some of the defensive comments for the company are extremely harsh, rude, and coarse. So I tend to believe the comments of some of the people who have complained of this in the company. It is too bad... Kirby is a great vaccume but very expensive... and in this economy... not something people want or need right now.

IDear sir, I just want to reassure u that I am in fact the women u spoke with and I know for a fact that I indeed booked the appointment with your wife. And then my co-worker called to confirm and spoke to you and then when I called the night before th appointment you were very rude and deserved the reaction you got from me. I no longer work for them.. because I left. I wasn't actually repremanded for our conversation, because I was an amazing telemarketer. But the company wasn't worth my time anymore.

There definitely IS opportunity to make some serious money as a dealer @ MCM Merchandising, you just have to be willing to put in your every last dime, every minute of your free time, make your wives and children hate you because you're never there for them, into the job for the first 3-5 months. As far as telemarketing is concerned, don't even bother. You start, making $8 per hour, if you're decent and stay longer than a month or 2 then you'll get $9. You get $5-10 per sale depending on whether or not you're: late, call out, or get sent home early due to lack of appointments set. There is NO moving up in that position and the office manager will take all the good leads before anyone else even see's them anyway. They're two faced and will talk crap about you the second you're out of ear shot, believe it!
They make you sign a piece of paper with a sexual harrassment policy on it but, you might as well consider it null and void because they have a bunch of pigs working for them. It's a VERY unprofessional environment and the owners could careless. They're making bank off of their employees and they're proud of it. If a Kirby is retailing @ $1995 then why are the telemarketers making so little??? Even with bonuses? Why are bonuses only $5-10 per sale?? Karma's a mother...and it will come back around.

100 calls per minute is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, not to mention impossible! It's supposed to be 100 per hour! They do call out of the phone book but for those who are better at it and have been there a minute, they use leads! You'd know that if you hadn't quit or been fired. Either way, you obviously sucked at it.

You'll still get the job regaurdless of your atire. I worked there for a period of time and know for a fact, they will literally hire ANYONE!!!!! They can't keep dealers or telemarketers. They talk crap about ALL of their employees behind their backs and they WILL write up anyone who calls out even once unless they have a doctors note. They DO NOT give raises either!
