these fools called me and left me a message that I would be summoned.  The message they left was from 2 days ago and I was supposedly being served THAT afternoon.  funny, I was never served.   I get multiple calls a DAY from a***oles like this and I tell them to fax or email me an actual copy of the LEGAL paperwork so I could respond to the supposed charges.  I never get anything and they usually say they can't to which I respond "then stop calling me since you are not operating legitimately."   they hang up... every single time.   Or if they are dumb enough to email me at work with charges, I reply with cease and desist and tell them I've cc'd my legal department so they can fill harrassment charges.   I do the same if they call my work number, I tell them that I can put their call through to my work attorney who would be happy to assist me in filing charges against THEM.  

What else can be done besides filing reports with FTC and state's attorney offices?   It seems I've done that each and every time and NOTHING happens.  It's like they sell the info to one another and it goes round and round.  I feel like I'm NEVER gonna get these POS's off my back!!!    And now they call family and friends to get you to try and give them money to shut them up so you stop getting embarrassed.   It's horribly humiliating!!!!!  

After the Debt Collector became belligerent with me because I informed them that a debt older than 10 years is not collectable, and that I had been through a disaster that caused a complete financial collapse, the debt collector said you'll be summoned to court and then hung-up... So I called Capital One, and they acted like it was a legit idea, however I informed them that this debt was older than 10 years and that I had been through a disaster that financially devastated me. Capital One said, if it was a debt sold to a third party collection agency that it was owned by the third party and no longer their responsibility.      the number was 603-856-0300

Scam, they will be arrested.

Same as everyone here, except they used to call under a miami florida number 786-924-0413 and after getting a call a dsy for 30 days i blocked that number and now they call under this one labled Cardiac Associates. I have saved all the messages im thinking about suing for harassment.

I too got a call from this number on March 12.  They called both my home and cell phone and said that since I hadn't called them at the Idaho number 208-416-5419, that I forfeited my rights and now they are calling to verfiy home and work address so that they can serve me a summons.  They said they would be calling the HR department to see how to "properly" serve the summons.  They said if I called that same day at the 603 number, that the client would be willing to rectify the matter, but if they don't hear from me, they will serve me for non-compliance.  They said that this will be the 3rd and final attempt. Good luck in court.  First of all, who calls and tells you that you're going to be served? They usually just show up without warning.  And do they really think that I would fall for that harassing call and call them back to verify my home and work address?  These people are idiots.  It's a scam. Don't fall for it and don't call them and give any information.

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.

Was it from Craig Shaw..I recieved the same call about Capital One saying I owed from 1999 and they were taking me to court,,, they must have called me around the same time as you.

Call from 603-856-0030 from Craig Shaw from Goldman and Associates stating I owed on a Capital One card from 1999 and they were going to take me to court if I didn't pay now...lol..total scam..also the number they called from came up as Cardiac Association on the caller I.D.

I just got the same call saying I had a debt owed to capital one from a loan I took out 4 years ago; clincher is that it was done under my old name, a name I legally gave up 11 years ago.

Beware - another changed number!  4 different locations in the US all using the same case number.  Collecting debts that do not exist or past the statute of limitations.  They claim you are getting arrested, no, you are not.  This is not how the legal system works.  Relax, take a deep breath and forget the call completely.  If your debt is older than 5 years, you have no worries.  Other numbers - 612/354-4076   440/735-5100.  Idaho and Minnesota
