I answered the call and got exactly the same answer. I kept asking where they are calling from and the guy just keep saying you have to agree to get transfer to our representative, and the representative will tell me. I simply tell him do not transfer me and hung up.

Why can't something be done about this harassing phone call? When I called to see who this was, the woman would  not tell me unless I verified that I was calling from the same number on which I received their call. This is obviously a shady operation so why is it still allowed to operate? I have been getting this unwanted call daily for months. . .  Sheesh!

Rang twice leaves no message. I think this phony calls are from people to check and see if these numbers are operating. I got this one before and stored it under spam some times I put Spam and the area code. They probably sell are numbers.

Same complaint as those above. There may be a way to shut them down: The cell phone do-not-call number is 888-382-1222. I've tried it without success for another nuisance number - maybe it'll work for this one.

It is not a real debt collector!!
They tried to collect a debt from me that has been paid off since 2012.
I dug out my paperwork, verified with the actual collection agency and Wells Fargo that I don't owe anything.
Don't give them your information! Get the info from them and verify it yourself first!!

I received a phone call from this number, not knowing who it was I called them back.
A man saying his name was Michael Ganz calling from CCS, Credit Collection Services, answered the phone.
After explaining I was wondering why he was calling my phone and without saying any of my informaiton (not even my name), he responded that he was calling to about the debt that I owed to Wells Fargo.
I paid off this Wells Fargo debt in 2012.
He said he was going to connect me to the Wells Fargo Recovery service and put me on hold. After being on hold for about 5 minutes I had to hang up.
I verified with both Wells Fargo and my original collection agency that I owed no money I've come to believe this is a scam.
Do not give them your information and do not believe anything they say.
If they call again I will be attempting to get more information about their company.

The government established the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) in 1978 to help protect consumers from unscrupulous debt collection practices. Many people don't know their rights regarding calls from collections agents. You can tell them to stop calling you because they are harassing you and, if they do not, they can be sued and fined. You might end up calling them to find out when they are going to pay you! There are a few procedures that you should take to stop those annoying calls...
Send the bill collection agency a cease and desist letter via certified mail with a return receipt. Have the letter notarized as well. In the letter clearly state your name, phone number, account number, and the fact that they must stop calling you immediately. Instead of calling, the debt collector will have to communicate with you through the mail only.

They call almost everyday with only one ring so I never have time to answer. Caller ID says it is CCS Companies in Portsmouth, NH. Googled and company has websites, etc. If you google this phone number you will see many similar complaints of people being called. Some said they were bill collectors but I do not owe anyone. Dont know why are calling but I smell scam.

Get these calls all the time, no message just a consistent call at sometimes 3 am. They need to close this non professional people down. This company buys from original creditor after 7 years of non collection and then puts it back on your credit under another name for another 7 years

Debt Collector
this is some sort of debt collection service that a bank I used to bank with sent after me for $60.  I closed my account with them over 3 years ago and one of my automatic drafts came out putting it in the negative (even though it was already closed).  When I attempted to pay this bank for the overdraft they refused payment because I had already closed the account, yet they still turned me over to collections.  Since that bank refused to take my payment I refuse to pay this collection service.  Some might say that I am being immature about this but I attempted to pay my debt before it went into collection and I see it as the bank's loss, not mine.

Debt Collector
Collection agency. Do not answer your phone or acknowledge that you are in fact the person that they are trying to contact or they will call and harass you ceaselessly and only increase their efforts.

By law collection agencies are not allowed to put any derogatory remark on your credit report until they have mailed a collection notice to your last known address and have then waited 30 days for you to respond. If you get a notice, send them a "debt validation letter" in response via certified mail (you can Google it) which forces them to prove that the debt in question is in fact yours by providing documentation from the original creditor. 90% of the time this will stop them because very few junk debt collectors have any such documentation or even have a business relationship with the original creditor.

If they do provide it, you can either settle for about 50% or turn it over to an attorney. Also, check the statute of limitations for debt collection in your state. It typically varies from 2 to 5 years since the date of last activity on the account. Often times these types of junk debt collection agencies will try to collect on old debt that is longer even valid.
