This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of VOIP numbers.  The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.

If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

Got a call ask for owner of business hung up

I looked into it after getting similar calls to my business.  It appears it's the Yellow Pages doing some kind of checks...

Named my company, asked if the owner was there and when I said he wasn't available and asked if I could pass along a message they just hung up.

They asked what type of business ours was, then hung up...

Had the same experience

Called our business, there wasn't anyone on the line when I picked up and the call was disconnected.
