This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of  VOIP numbers.  The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.

If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

I have call display and if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. A guy started to leave a message, then hung up. Very annoying.

I have had my cell number since 1998 and have Never donated to SPCA or gotten a pet from them but this number has been calling several times a week. I am at work and they never leave a message. I do not believe this to be SPCA at all. These calls just started recently (about a month now) and it is getting very annoying.

The DO NOT CALL LIST does work..  You have to be a member and so does the company or what ever it is.  Most times the calls that come saying Alberta, Quebec etc. do come for the USA and it's done through computer of course and they make it look like its from Canada just so you make answer.  It's not a perfect system but it does help.  I never answer the phone unless it's someone I know.  At the end of the day I make a list of unwanted ones.  Time, date, number (even no number ones) and you will notice in time they do slow down the amount of calls and the numbers change.

I just got another call from them...gotta point out tho...i've done telemarketing...and the "do not call list" only gets you put onto a list for the more experienced sales reps lol...so it's useless...

I just received a call from this number for the first time, and they left a message.  It was a recorded message from the CEO of the SPCA thanking me for the donations I had made over the year.  They were not requesting anything from me, nor did they ask for more donations.  They simply called to say "Thank you".

This number comes from a SPCA telemarketing number.  He left a message thanking me for contributing to the SPCA & told me they have sent out a small ornament in appreciation.  For once I'm getting something.

This number's been calling me about two or three times a day for the past few weeks, it's driving me crazy! I called back and removed my number off their list, hopefully it works!!!

The guy on the other end of the phone claimed that he represented the federal NDP party. He also claimed to be calling to inquire whether I am interested in making a donation towards the party.

I received a numerous number of calls from them recently. Although I explicitly asked them NOT to call me again (although I am a supporter of them myself), the calls kept on going!

Given the recent phone call scandal in Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if the conservative party is behind a campaign to fake NDP phone calls to annoy the hell out of NDP supporters.

I have got calls from this number often in recent weeks.  I usually don't answer it.  However, today I did, and a man was asking for me.  I replied that the person wasn't home and if there were any messahes I could take.  The man said it was fine, he would call later.

I also donated to the SPCA last year. I've answered this number a twice and everytime it would disconnect right away so I can't confirm who it is. I like the SPCA but this is not good practice at all, if it is indeed them.

I've also been getting repeat calls from this number. It happens 3-5 times a week usually around dinner time. It's been going on for almost a year and has been getting more and more frequent.

I adopted a dog from the SPCA around a year ago and judging from the comments here this is probably the source of these harassing phone calls. I'm on the national no-call list but I guess they're exempt from that list because they're a charity or something.

This is really frustrating. I adopted a dog from them and donated money to their cause... I don't think it's too much to ask for them to NOT send ominous harassing phone calls! They could at least leave a message so I know it's not some random creep!!

I expected much better from our local SPCA :(

These people have called my cell phone a few times in the past couple of weeks!! This is what you tell them:
I am asking you NOT to call this number again. I have reported you to the police and if you call my number once more I will talk to a lawyer because this is HARASSMENT!

Done this to many unsolicited calls.....they get the message and never call back.

Gregor Robertson - its not enough that I got voice recordings from him in recent weeks, starting at something like 8am, but I just got half a dozen calls from this number today where there was no response when I answered.  Just got a lady saying his name, so totally let her have it.
Now that I know it was his campaign, I'm almost regretting giving him my vote.  Stop harrassing your constituents!

They called me today at 1:30 PM, I isn't there a law against campaigning on election day?  (I agree, it sounded like a broken auto-dialer, clicks and dead air).

Just got ANOTHER call from this number tonight, so finally decided to answer and hopefully get off their call list.  After the caller was informed a live person was on the line....a woman came on the line, asked for me by name and said she was phoning on behalf of GREGOR ROBERTSON !!!

She's from COPE, not Coke. Seems like this is a busted auto-dialer unfortunately representing my political party of choice... it calls me 3 times a day and never leaves a message and nobody's there when I pick up. Extremely annoying.

The Do Not Call list does not apply to political parties.

After three weeks of being pestered to no avail, I finally picked up the call and a woman answered.  It sounded like she said "I'm from Coke", but perhaps I'm projecting, because any company obnoxious enough to call an unlisted number multiple times a day is behaving like a coked up bully with no tact.  The perseverance was impressive, if not insane:  einstein's definition of insanity is apt-- doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.  Well I guess they weren't entirely crazy because I finally picked up and responded in a terse tone and informed the caller that these repeated, unsolicited intrusions into my personal space  absolutely had to stop. I avenged my right to be left alone.  I don't know how they got my number since I keep my information private, but I'm wondering how safe the publication of a personal number on the national "do not call" list would be.  Personally I think this would be a hot spot for scammers and telecommunication companies to poach....
