This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of VOIP numbers.  The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.

If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

seem these crooks like to use numbers from Telus, I think either Telus has something to do with this or these crooks were the ex-employee form the company. I think we should file a compliant not only to CRTC but to Telus also.

Harper and the rest of our criminal 'Government Officials" are in bed with these criminals - otherwise they would do something about instead of chasing children trying to imprison them with manijuana possession. If you don't believe that your government may be criminal just go to Youtube and type in 'Boston Marathon Hoax'

I sure agree with most of what you've said. Unfortunately the main targets of the "card services" scammers are the elderly and the gullible. It would go a long way in slowing these scammers down if the legislation going on down here in the U.S. passes, outlawing the spoofing of number and name. The people (creatures) hired as telemarketers are mainly drug addicts, working on a commission, scamming us to continue their disgusting addictions.

Ils m'appellent depuis plus d'un an.  C'est un numéro de Vancouver, parait-il à travers Tellus.  Cette dernière compagnie devrait être plus responsable et mettre un frein à ce harcellement.

Buy a phone with call blocking feature, it's cheaper however they change the number every week so you're wasting your time anyway.

Hahaha. They aren't even in Canada let alone BC. They spoof the numbers from the Caymans. The company is in the US. As far as knowing who they are. The govts of both US and Canada know who they are. They get a tiny fine and they are back in business without even the loss of a day in defrauding people. What surprises me is how can there be anyone in the entire world that hasn't heard of this scam and falls for it these days. This scam is over 10 years old. I've been called by these people for at least 5 years and they never stop and never change the scam and I have never fallen for it. Surely these people lack both imagination and originality. Credit card companies should know by now not to send them any money. Has anyone dealt with Visa and Mastercard to shut these people down that way? What's the problem? Or is the govt and credit card companies in their pocket?

Waited till they wanted to press one to speak to a representative about lowering my credit card rates. A representative with an eastern Asian voice answered, but hung up as soon as I asked them to take my number off their list. How are they able to call when my number is on the Do Not call list?

The people (creatures) calling from this number might represent themselves as being with Capital One, but it's actually the drug-addicted card services scammers calling in an attempt to fool you into giving them your credit card number so they can rip you off! This group of lowlifes "work" on a commission trying to cheat people in an effort to pay for their disgusting habits.

Apparently there are enough "brain dead idiots" out there who continue to purchase goods and services from telemarketer scammers. If no one ever purchased anything from them, they would eventually have to do something else and all of us could live a nice life without these annoying calls.

Most of the card service scammers are located here in the U.S., and very little is done here either, to stop these druggies who try to take advantage of anyone who falls for their line. They are the most disgusting criminals, because they try to cheat the elderly!  Every single person fooled by these lowlifes is paying to support their addictions!

Maybe the "card services" scammers could find another way to cheat us,but for now that's the only option I can think of for stopping their calls to large groups of people. We were able to stop their calls to us,by answering, and wasting their time, as I read about on other posts.

My wife and I received a call from this number today.  Thank-you for the confirmation about it being a scam, just as we suspected.  ...and thank goodness for Asterisk (a free telephone PBX system that we use in our home for just such reasons.)  We have added this number to our "monkey people" blacklist.  If they call again, they will just hear a bunch of jungle monkeys for about 10 seconds and then the "error" tones, and it won't ring our phones.  Thankfully, technology can be on our side.  :)

You were most like called by an apprentice card service scammer who had no yet fully learned the art of scamming and was afraid to speak to you or leave a message. Make sure you have a friendly message on your machine, or if you answer, do so in a kindly voice and possibly the rookie scammer will have the courage to attempt to rip you off.

They call every week and they hang up or nobody speaks. It's the same s*** as Bell Canada : they try to sell you some crap and then, they fraud your bank account. They are protected by the CRTC, a bunch of a***oles and incompetents. The law really protects the criminals in Quebec and in Canada.
