Hi, this is my real phone number, has been for about 10 years plus.

It looks like it is being *spoofed so my number shows on your phone as the originating number for a call-centre scam.

Interestingly, our local police department tweeted recently that THEIR non-emergency number shows when a phishing -call purporting to be a call from Revenue Canada is received.

I called this number today, as no-one else has reported it. The phone was answered by a private caller. Is it possible that scam companies are using numbers that are legitimate? Seems odd.

Anyone know who or why they would call. Automated voice said something about winning $260,000. I haven't entered any competitions and just hung up on the call.
