May 8, 2014  -Winnipeg MB  - received call from the low-lives - credit card scam. Do not listen to them. This is the 543 call received from all sorts of scammed numbers across north America. From most all provinces in Canada and most U.S. States.
No provider is willing to cut these people off their systems. Perhaps the line rentals are great profit generators and every por soul that is scammed pays for it.

they have called twice already today about lowering my credit card rate. I stayed on the line and told someone to remove me from the calling list and they just hung up.

Complete BS why these guys are allowed to do this. I never EVER answer a call from a number I don't know. Yes, this is a BC area code, and I do have friends and family in BC...but if it's important they'll leave a message. I think what ticks me off the most about these guys is that they take advantage of the elderly who are naive and don't know any better. How many 65+ people are getting scammed? Despicable!

II refuse to anser calls from unknown numbers. They will not leave a message. Called around 5 pm.

It is just an outright scam.  Once they get a credit card number (if you had one), you would be screwed.  The only way to get this stopped is legislation, followed up by enforcement, to either put the scammers in jail, or make it too expensive to take a chance on getting caught.  Call your MP.

Another bulls$t scammer calling to get the gullible to cough up their credit card numbers.  Calls initiated by robocaller, and using a recorded message, should ALL BE IGNORED BY EVERYONE...but do leave the phone off the hook, so that (if in fact they are not just stealing time) it will cost them to have their message drone on.  Sometimes they are listening for a voice back, so I put the phone beside a radio (yes, I know I should not do that) and let them think I am talking.  Stupid telemarketers or scammers.  Laws should be changed to FORCE all telemarketing to have a REAL PERSON on the line when the phone is picked up.  I do not give a rat's a** about interfering with "commerce" when I think my personal information and privacy are at stake.  So, there ought to be laws, and enforcement consisting of hefty fines and/or improsonment.  Call your politician, and make it happen.

this man is crazy... he has been calling my home for months, normally during the day. you cannot call the number back as it says it is not in service. he calls tonight and i need to press 1 to change my credit card balance. he answers and i tell him that I have asked on a number of occasions to take me off their phone list because I am on the do not call list. he told me I was a "liar"' and that I wasn't on the list and I had to give him my registration number. He kept calling me sweetheart and a liar. I hang up on the idiot and I pick up the phone a few moments later and he is still screaming at me. I will be calling the government tomorrow to ask about this. If I have to go to my MP about this, I will. Obviously the do not call list isn't working.  These people are out of line.

This is getting ridiculous, is there no protection from these idiots? They want to lower my interest rates, how nice of them. I do not own a credit card of any kind so someone needs to find a way to get them shut down. Is Telus aiding and abetting these phone scammers?

Credit fixer crap via robocall.  Wish these a$$holes could be banned from using phones.  Laws should be written to force everyone trying to sell something to really be on the other en of the line.  That is, no more robocalls with voice messages.  Some people are working shift work and do not appreciate calls at any time.  Some people do not appreciate getting called at dinnertime either.  Stupid a$$holes need to be shut down.  Call your MP and MPP and make them make laws.  Our privacy and peace of mind trumps commercial interests.

This number called a few minutes ago but I didn't answer as didn't recognize it.  Figured it was a telemarketer or scam.  

He took some offense to my saying I just wanted to talk... I was lonely.

When I called back, this number is Not In Service - a Message from Telus.
How in the world can it call me then? Hellooooo?
I'm calling all these "Prank Calls" now.
If I can get a name or a voice, I will report to the police.

Have registered phone number on the do not call list but this number keeps calling us.   No one on the other end.

These are off-shore call centres using a computer over an internet protocol connection.  They spoof the number they are calling from (its fake or rented temporarily) and the machine dials number after number trying to get a 'live' connection.  If they connect or you are foolish enough to push ANY buttons (including the fake 'remove from list'), that just validates your number as real...and you get MORE calls!  These call centres are paid by the call, so they sell/rent/re-use any valid numbers in their databases.  These are hired by organized crime to try to get your personal info - to confirm name, address, phone number, and any income or credit card data.  You'll get call after call with them trying different scams to try to get this data - all the fake 30 second surveys, free cruises, trip to Disneyland, card services, duct cleaning - is all to try to get this data.  They use it to create Fake IDs and commit more fraud in your name.  If you get a call, just hang up.  Warn your elderlies that it isn't rude to hang up, as these people are just crooks.

Called from 604-432-7283 in BC asking we wanted to lower are credit card rates.  I asked them which one and they didn't know of course.  SCAM SCAM SCAM

I received a call today from this number 1-604-432-7283 asking if I would like to lower my credit card debt. Last warning!!! I hung up. Who is behind these unwanted calls? Is there a way to block them on a shaw telephone account?

ANOTHER crappy phone call - about credit cards interest.  If you get one of these calls and realize that it is a scam, hit the # button (before hanging up) about 7 times very fast.  This not only confuses them but ALSO screws up their phone lists.
