I just called this number back, & they gave me some schpeal about being a background company & so I said I would provide the reference for whomever the background check was for, if they provided the name of the person that this "supposed" reference was for, & they kept asking me to confirm things about me! Total scam, just trying to get up to date data on your phone number. Don't answer!! Just let it ring!!!

Not a scam.

This is actually a background check company. If you receive this phone call,  that means that someone has given your contact information as a reference (for a job, security background check, etc). So might want to answer it.

What kind of back check survey was it and was the survey conducted by pre programed machine voice?

This company called me from this number for a reference check on a former employee. Survey was called Backcheck.
