i get calls from this number and they ask for someone, and when i ask questions, they just hang up

I did a reverse lookup at www,411.ca and it's a landline in Vancouver.

I'm getting fed up with these guys too.

We get daily calls from 1-604-484-0061. When I say "hello" the person on the other end [I can hear them breathing] hangs up. This is not a call generated by a machine; there is someone there. I can't see why one would make repeated calls without speaking; this is creepy.

I tried to find out a bit more about GT Group Telecom Services Corp. [see VicCen's comment, above]. It appears to be attached to Bell Canada. If you look them up, there is a link to a call-tracing service. It seems that this might be an attempt to drum up business for their service. How unethical and unpleasant. Where can one report this?

604 484 0061 has called my house every day for the past week or so. When i phone back a recording comes on saying " thank you for calling we are not available to take your call at this time" and give you the option to leave a message. wtf is this about!! how do i get them to stop calling?

I have received a call from this number several times. It is always dead air, no response. When you call it back it says "we're sorry, your call did not go through'...

Called this morning at 10:30 and a man asked my husband if I was in.  When asked to leave a message, he simply said that it wasn't important.

i got a call from this number.  they left a message saying 'is rob in?'.  i think i trick their computer into thinking someone picks up..  on my answering maching it says. hello....(long pause for them to think i've picked up) they ask for me and then i leave the rest of my recorded msg..  its the only way i can think to get these guys back.  if u have an old grandma dont do this..  it confuses them really bad.

received call Feb 23/09 from this number.  open line but no response.

This number called my house shortly after I left for nightshift. My girlfriend and our baby were home alone and the guy asked if the person answering the phone was my girlfriend using my surname.. She said yes out of convenience. When he asked her if I was around she asked who it was and he said is was "Mike, from work". She said that I was already at work and he told her he will call back today.. I will find out and post on here what this is about as soon as I find out.

This number showed up on call display (as "unknown caller") three times today. Figured anyone who can't give a name on call display is probably a telemarketer.

Received a call from 1-604-484-0061 It was the Royal Canadian Legion for BC  & Yukon Soliciting funds for their annual Veterans Book.  The number must be the call centre originating in Vancouver BC.

This must be a scam of some kind, because I got a call on my cell phone just before 6:00 P.M. today and it turns out it was a text scam. It had to do with `pookitou19982.match-pit.net` so i looked it up online to find out and it is a  scam. so this is probably some sorta scam too.i just hung up because there was no answer and now if i don't recognize the number i will not answer it no more because of valuable information they probably want so the caller can have access to what ever they think they can use to rip me off. I advise all to do the same IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE PHONE NUMBER DON'T ANSWER IT whether it is you land phone or your cell phone, yours truly

just got called by this number.  says it's out of Vancouver BC.  i didn't answer it, because frankly i'm tired of all the telemarketing calls every day
the reason it leaves no message or you get no one when you answer is probably because it's a bot dialing numbers to see when people are home.

I answered this number. They just hung up on me when I said "Hello". Huh?

This number called me on January 8, 2008 at 5:59 pm. I didn't answer the call as I didn't recognize the number. They left no message when my machine picked up.

We received a call from this number on January 10th, 2008 at 6:42 PM.
I have Caller ID and I was uncertain if the call was legitimate.  There was no response when I answered the call.  Since all my calls are directed to and through my computer, the software I am using has a call zap feature.  The next time they call, it will ring once and automatically "zap".
