Called on Jan 19/09 Was some sales scam called North American Auto Sales.

SCAM SCAM SCAM... they say they'll sell your car but want money up front. They are scamming you... Tell them to F OFF!!!!

Yup...he called me too.
I advertised on Autotrader.ca and he called me and told me the same things. He would sell my car and he went on and on. He called me twice. I said the car was sold to get the f****r off my back.
HE DELETED MY AD!!
If I had the address for this guy - my husband said he'd go visit him - and DELETE HIM!!

Got 2 calls from this number on Jan 6/10.  The guys name was Derick Marcy.  He wanted me to list my truck with his company, as he promised me $16000 for it when I have it listed with Autotrader at $12999.  All I had to do was pay him $399 on the spot.  I said it was too good to be true that I'd have to research his company first.  Glad I found these postings as well as other scam notices.

I just got a call from 'steve', he said he could sell my car for 27000, 2500 more than i was asking and wanted 399.99 up front. I told him i wanted their info and i woiuld call them back so i searched the number and here i am. He just called me again and said 'wrong number' and hung up. THIS IS A SCAM 100% tell him to go f*ck himself. He sounds like a crack head loser.

These sharks seem to troll the kijiji/craigslist waters looking to scam unsuspecting sellers. Been trying to sell my car for a month...posted several ads...new phone call from the same jerk each time. Can't the cops trace this guy...it is a credit card scam for sure

Received a call from this number, ignored it since I was not expecting anybody from the 604 area code to call me.  I was left a message that was nothing but hold music. Apparently they must dial multiple numbers and only answer the ones that actually answer.  No way any legitimate business would conduct themselves in this manner

also got a call from this guy. got my number from the autotrader. Watch out for people calling from autoseller network (George Best) who won't stop calling either. The first guy scoffed and said "good luck with that" after i told him I didn't need any help selling our vehicle.

this number phoned me a few times and I thought it was my sister, I called it back and got a hang up so I tried again.  He answered very unprofessionally and took a long time to get to the point of who he was.  He pulled up my ad and offered me 1000 more than what I am asking and I'm like "who are you?"  he started stumbling on his words and finally I understood what he ment.  I told him I would think about it and let him know he said his name was Steven Pratt but said it really fast and hesitated to spell it for me.  Then 10 min later he called me and I reminded him we has spoken 10 min prior and he said sorry and hung up.
I work at a car dealership and no one has heard of these people.

Jacob Stone is a very smooth talking Canadian. Don't do business with him. He will be friendly until he has your credit card and then you won't be able to get him to answer his phone or return your calls.

Had the exact same thing happen. I posted my truck on Kijiji, and the next day "Steven Pratt" called and said he could sell it for $26,000 firm, $1200 more than I was asking, if I paid $399 up front (which included a 60-day money back guarantee). I found his call suspect, but was considering his offer. Luckily I came across these postings and others confirming his BS. Private Vehicle Exchange is the company name.

Just got a phone call from "Steven Pratt". Same deal as Alex he promised to sell my car for 15,000 when it is listed for 14,000.

When I started to ask questions he got all flustered and tried to get me off the phone as fast as he could.

Seems very fishy to me. He said his company was called Vehicle Exchange.

Someone on sept 23  245 pm by the name of steve pratt phoned me from that number and made promises to sell my truck advertised in used victoria  for $1000.00 more than I had advertised it for and asked for my credit card number to pay him $395.00 in advance for this service.   i figured it was a scam and so i tryped the phone number in google and here we are  he said he would phone me back today  i will propose to meet and pay him cash   see what he says then   hahahahahahah

I Received two back to back calls from this number today.  Did not answer.  Just wanted to say thanks to you all for reporting in on it so I know!

same thing as the guy above - talked with a guy named "Steven Pratt" and he said they had buyers in the area ready to buy but they need my credit card information now.
