Who keeps calling from this number and why do you have an unlisted number?

They are a good cause, but call a little too often (about once a month).

They gather lots and lots of used clothing and other things that they then load into overseas containers and sell to places like China, India and so on.

They called and I picked up within 2-3 ring.
No one answer the phone call and why would BB not have a listing in their name?
My family had donated several large bag of clothing to them before when we moved to Burnaby from Vancouver but having these calls more than twice is anything but helpful to their charity work.

They just called again (Saturday, Dec.21/13).
The number comes up on the call display with just the number, no info.
Like someone else said, I don't have stuff every month.

The issue here is not the organization itself. The issue is the repeated calls. I don't want anyone calling me on my home phone for either sales or charity.

I *have* a heart; I give generously to several charities.  But I research those charities first, I don't give to places that just cold call me.

I used to donate to Big Brothers but don't anymore because they call just about every month asking for donations.  I don't have a truck load of clothes for them every month.  I am not Marco's wife with a palace full of shoes.  I know some people buy cars more often than I buy underwears.

I also don't donate to Red Cross because when you donate to a crisis they skim 15% for themselves.  How much of the remaining 85% went to the crisis is anybody's guess.

Do you know that the CEO of most big charities have salaries of $300,000 a year and up?  The only exception is the Salvation Army.  The poor guy or gal only make $60,000.  I drop off my used clothes to the Salvation Army.  They don't call to bug you.

I too donate to the Big Brothers. Who else comes to your house to pick up? Good service and we like to help.

They need to fix their phone system. We dislike calls and no one there ... is it a political party, a free cruise, furnace service or carpet cleaning ..... all annoying just like the call from BB.

I get calls from this number but they always leave a message, and it is always Big Brothers. They are often looking for donations of clothing and furniture, or money for their charity.

They keep calling my cell. I don't care if it is Big Bros, I don't want to be bothered by unwanted calls, PERIOD. Unsolicited calls make me NOT want to support your cause.

Just got a call from this number, and of course NO ANSWER..  I will not donate to Big Brothers because they always call and don't say anything.. and they wonder why I won't donate to them??? LOSERS!

Calling at inappropiate times

I don't mind a phone call , I don't mind to donate, but i don't like to deal with people has no respect to others.  how can you calling someone for donation, waste their time to pick up the phone expecting to talk to someone but with no answer.  I was busy in the kitchen when they call./

Wow guys calm down. Big Brothers is a CHARITY.  Non-profit. They help kids in your community without a positive influence in their life get a menor. They don't ask for money, they ask for used clothing or small household items that you don't need anymore. What you DONATE to them gets sold to Value Village and proceeds from that go towards their many mentoring programs. They aren't forcing you to donate anything. You say no, they say thanks for your time. 30 seconds tops. Nobody spends time with their family anyways. You spend dinner time in front of the tv texting and not talking with each other. Why do you say it's interrupting family time? They don't have the funds to upgrade their system because the proceeds they get go into their mentoring programs and fundraisers, which costs money. If you don't want to be called, ask to be taken off the list. If they call back, call them back. It's a legit number. Or just ignore the calls, they leave a message. You're the one answering the phone. What a bunch of hypochondriacts.

It's probably an old robo-phone call out system they use and it buggers up once in a while. It was cool to be able to google the number and find out what was up with that call I just got. Isn't technology great, if we make it past 2012 we should see some AMAZING toys coming our way, maybe BB will upgrade their hardware/software from the 1980's to the ' 90's. number is legit and its big bros. good cause, and i have given many donations, but the last time i hauled out lots of heavy stuff to the front door as they instructed, and they never came. I was really pissed. so i am donating to other orgs.

It's a robocall with no option for "put me on your do not call list" not that I'd bet that they would do it anyway. It wouldn't be so bad if it was only them calling once a month, but I am getting several of these annoying calls every day from various scams! Why should I have to purchase a special phone/service to block these clowns! They've become like an epidemic.

It is just Big Brothers or some other charitable organization. I give to them when I have old clothing and other stuffs, otherwise I would throw into garbage anyways. Why waste them. You guys, please have a heart... these are volunteers and they do this for a good cause. These are great people who help out the unfortunates in our society. What is a BIG DEAL for some unwanted phone calls anyway. I have a phone which shows the incoming phone numbers and record it into the memory. Now I know it is Big Brother and would not worry. The phone is from London Drug and costs only $35.

Yesa this is Big Brothers looking for used clothing and more.

Big brother's keep calling me and it is really annoying. I have told them to stop calling numerous times and they still continue.

I got a call from them last night, 6:32pm 11 Oct 08.  I picked up and no answer.  It sounded like someone was on the line not the usual computerized telemarketer disconnect.  I hung up and no call back.

We give to Big Brothers so it must have been a mistake on their part.   Strange thing is I "reverse phone" Canada 411`d it.... and there is no listing.  You would think a charitable organization like that would have 1) listed as Big Bro on the call display and 2) listed on Canada 411.

A lot of charities like BB have VOLunteers who call from their own personal home phones. They blocks their own number when doing the outbound calls.

I have given to Big Brother previous but will give no longer because no one answers the phone when you lift up the receiver. A person would think thank anyone in their position looking for donations would bend over backwards to please, alas I have had to put a block on this number. Shame on you Big Brothers for annoying donators.
