Same thing, brief call to ask if they could conduct a 30 second survey re: allergies. Sounds like a smoke-screen for selling something. The more of us who report these bogus surveys/ nuisance calls to the CRTC, hopefully the more of these outfits will be shut down.

May 10, 2010 - 3:30 pm   Was called with an allergy questionnaire, told my name would be put in a draw for a set of knives or a weekend away, but she didn't know where when I asked her.   Was asked occupation if we worked out of the house!  as allergies can be caused in the workplace.  Sounded fishy, so I said we were self employed from our home.

They're nortec - I called them back. They do questionairs on allergy medication and stuff

It's most likely a marketing ploy to qualify you for a visit from one of their vacuum cleaner sales people. It's deceptive, pushy, underhanded telemarketing at its worst. Stop whining and egister a complaint like I did at:

Vacuum cleaners they take the survey, then later a sales guy will phone you later saying you won blah blah, then they come to your house to show you vacuum cleaners that cost thousands!!!!!!!!!!!!

The high pressure salesman did arrive this afternoon.  We did get the cheap knife set.
Were told the vacum was made by an Italian company
We sat through his demo. Cost of this vacum was $2,700.00, very over priced we felt.  Got him down to 13 hundred.  The vacum appeared to be OK, however we didn't feel comfortable with his salesmanship and felt under pressure and didn't buy it.

Well Heather, what the hell happened?  Did the sales person show up with your prize? Why state that crap if your aren't going to followup on it it this group which is trying to figure out the legitimacy of this phone number and company.  You are the only one here that states the sales people from this number were coming over with the supposed vacuum that you won.  I got my first call from this number today and as common sense states, don't answer the phone for numbers you don't know.  Period.  You, on the other hand Heather, obviously answered the phone, did the so-called survey then got a call the following week stating you won a prize and that the sales dude "shows up tomorrow with the vacuum system, asks our opinion and leaves" ?????  WTF??? Somehow that doesn't make any sense, but if it does to you than that's all that counts.  What I would like to know is..........how did it go then?

... and still another one wanting to do the allergy survey. However, I cut her off asking her why in hell I'm being called and uttered a few other choice obscenities at her as she hung up. So I looked up this Nor Tech and couldn't find a site that would need to do an allergy survey. I entered the phone # behind it and hit here.

I received a call from them this evening, they asked if i would partake in a short 30 second survey regarding allergies. I politely told them I was not interested, they thanked me for my time and hung up.

I got the call last week, same questions. Then today, I got a call saying I won the draw for 1 of 2 prizes. A trip for 2 or a knife set. No signing of anything or money required. The sales person shows up tomorrow with the vaccum system, asks our opinion and then leaves. We'll see how it goes. Has anyone else gone through this????

When they start with a survey and then ask for credit card info they are violating telemarketing and do not call laws.  

Some telemarketers are using the survey to get around the law, but as soon as they start to sell something they violated that law

Had a call from nor teck 604-575-2688. ssme thing, saying it was an allergy survey. asked about carpeting what mine and my wife's jobs were and what credit card we used??? wondered why an allergy survey needed this kind of information. Sounds like a marketing ploy.

Its a survey on allergies, they asked me about my home if it was carpet or hardwood, what kind of vacuum I owned, if anyone in my household had allergies, and what job industry I was in. example sales, construction etc.  Then you get entered into a draw, I can't remember what for.  Pretty harmless.
