Just got a call from this number - when I answered an automated message started: "Hello my name is Amy... " ...you have an award..." by this time I hung up!!!
Daivd 2014-06-06 01:49:11 Unknown
They called my landline and mobile. Both an Indian guy saying I have a virus on my windows computer. Knew right away it was a scam when he told me to start doing stuff on the computer. He hanged up when I told him I have a Mac running OS X.

Phoned me today. I didn't pick up. Judging from the posts, I'm glad I didn't!

Got this missed call an hour ago, looked up the number, and brought me to this site. Thank you!
I experienced these type of scams in the past. They simply make up stuff about your Windows OS, with the basic info they somehow syphoned from your ISP or Internet activities. I told them off.

Hi my name is Amy and would like to offer you a free Bahamas cruise.
I hang up right after that.
Jen 2014-05-15 17:07:26 Unknown
Free cruise scam from 'Amy". Bogus survey. Trying to get credit card information.
Hugh 2014-05-05 16:54:01 Unknown
Nobody is going to hack into your computer, so don't worry. It's a scam from India.
Best rule to follow? NEVER, EVER give anyone any kind of personal information out over the phone unless YOU were the one who initiated the call.
He was a polite scammer 2014-04-28 19:03:14 Unknown
SCAM!! With the sound of a busy call center in the background, a polite sounding man began the call by telling me that they have detected a "problem with your Windows PC". When I asked what the "problem" was he said his company had received a report that my computer has been infected. This idiotic scam struck me as so funny that I burst into gales of laughter and when I stopped for a breath, the man said, "Don't laugh like that, Madam. You'll get a heart attack", which made me laugh again. I asked him how he could do this (scam) and sleep at night, he sputtered a little, but when I asked him how he could look in his children's eyes, he hung up. Following this call, I tried looking up this number but - surprise - it can't be found.

Just received call from 604-675888. When I answered, silence, then a tiny beep, then 'good-bye' SO fed up with this BS. Slimy, underhanded, illegal scumbags.

Female with a nice voice calls and tells me my mail has been returned to the priority mail center. No accent, good English, but she never mentions my name or anything about else about me, just asks me to call back at the above number. With zero information one can only assume they're fishing for more.
Sue 2014-03-28 19:21:41 Unknown
Just got into work and found this number on my call log -- no message left. Since you have to go through the operator or computerized operator to get to my phone (we have extensions), I don't know how they got to me.
Photocopier Products? 2014-03-19 18:30:02 Unknown
I got a call from this number just a couple minutes ago - saying the were sending
product for my photocopier machine - at $529 (old price) as they were late letting me know their prices went up to $589.
They knew my full name - and said they would be sending the product out in 5-7 days.
Said they were sending one and I had 7 left on hold.
I didn't give them any payment information of course, so not to sure what they are doing?
Any one else have this happen?
I tried calling back the number but it just comes up with a constant busy signal...
They then called me again - and said a really mumbled company name and when I asked them to repeat it they gave me a completley different company name. I did however get their names (as it was two different people that called) Shelley and Tony.
When Shelley called she was confirming the "purchase" I had made with Tony - and wanted my fax number to send me a paper they wanted me to sign confirming the $529. I told them no - I didn't want anything from them and she said "I will let Tony know, you don't need anything" and hung up.

Got a call from a woman saying she was from Montreal Redemption Center. Said someone about being an active user of a credit card (Funny thing is, I don't have a credit card, and should have known it was a scam from the start) Could barely understand her, something about a $100 giftcard and 2 plane tickets. All I had to pay was $1.95 shipping. Blah blah, more BS. My stupid self almost did it. Until the end when she asked for payment information, credit, debit, or prepaid. So I just said I wanted to cancel it and that was that. The phone number was weird too, it was 1000-000-0000??? She also gave me two other numbers: 1800-944-8424 and 1800-944-8210

As a lot of others have reported, I've been getting calls from some Indian or P*** guy trying to either (a) Threaten me if I don't XXXXX, or try to sell me a loan (but you first have to Western Union them a "down-payment." These a***oles are foreign, they're scammers, and why the FBI hasn't started to catch on to these pricks is anyone's guess. One thing to remember: They have software that changes their caller ID, so you think it's from Texas when they're really calling from Pakistan or Nebraska or who-the-fk-knows where. In any event, what gives them away is their super thick accent and the fact that they try pass themselves off as having names like Paul Smith, which is obviously impossible for a thickly accented prick to pull off. God help anyone who falls for their ridiculous scams. I even called them back one time and said many foul things about them. I got an angry voice-mail trying to use American profanity at me, but the accent was so think you couldn't even understand what the pathetic prick was trying to say. DON'T let these guys get you! They have no power: They're just worthless scum trying to rip off needy Americans. I'll list two of the most recent numbers, but believe me they'll keep calling us using new numbers they're invented. 813-473-2252, 505-492-0365

This number has called previously and also tried to have my husband give them access to his computer, info etc. Yesterday they called again and ever since we have not been able to use our phone as it says "line in use" I can hear static on the line but nothing else
Scammers do... 2013-10-01 22:01:44 Unknown
This number called my office today asking to speak to the owner. I asked him what he was calling about and he said to "improve our listing on the internet". We don't have a listing on the internet. I told him that we were not interested and he got angry at mw and shouted, WHY?! I told him because we're not interested in anything from you and hung up. Clearly this was a BS call. Don't listen to a word they're saying and hang up.
He also had a thick accent much like all the ones being described above.

pretty funny if you ask me haha

Same thing again, heavy accent, hard to understand. This time he stated he was calling from Brooklyn, NY and that my computer was sending them error messages. When I told him my computer was fine he hung up. I wonder what Telus security thinks about this? I think I'll ask them!

On Sept. 23 at noon the male caller asked for Mr. "the name of our registered phone number". I said no one here by that name. Then he asked if we had a Windows computer. I said there are none and hung up. Another scam like those mentioned already. So bothersome.
