We kept getting calls from 877-482-7699 but they never left a voicemail. I finally called back and asked who was calling, and the guy who answered said it was Benoit Rivard with CBB Collection Services. I asked what it was about, and he said I first had to identify myself. I told them that since he'd called me (over and over), he needed to tell me who he was looking for, on whose behalf and for what purpose. He insisted on my identification. I refused. He asked if I was a lawyer. I told him I was a private citizen aware of my rights and interested in avoiding being scammed, that any legitimate business would ask for someone by name and state their business. He hung up on me. I say scammer. Changed my number. There has to be a law about this, no?

received a call from cbb group, a debt collector, and was told to call 18884995561, a woman's voice, the message seemed improper, I will call in if they call me again. im glad this site was here.. I have no debt.

This is definitely a scam. I've just got a call from them saying that they need to talk to my dad. Since my dad cannot speak English fluently, I tried to talk to them. But they insisted to fax them a written authorization in order for me to talk to them. They sounded so rude. They keep saying that "I need to talk to [your dad]" without revealing their name at the first time. "What is this for?" I asked. Then she finally said that she's from CBB collections. "But, I've never heard of it. My dad doesn't have an account in your company," I said. That woman sounded annoyed, saying "I don't have a time to explain about this. Do you want a fax number for the authorization or not? If not, I will escalate the matter and visit your house." Although my dad owes nothing to anyone, I tried to send them a fax but it didn't go through. Why are you guys wasting your time trying to threat innocent people? Don't get hoaxed by their phone calls

I am from Ontario and you can all believe now that this is definately a huge scam.  I had the same problem with understanding this clown, perhaps your mounties out there should be notified. If they happen upon some unsuspecting elderly person, unfortunately they may get dinged.  OUTRAGEOUS, folks, please be aware.  I will be copying this into an email and notifying everyone on facebook and my business contacts.

I keep getting these phone calls (unknown) to a horrassing point (CBB is who I found out it was after doing alot of checking) new number which they seem to keep changing. Will not answer an unknown number.

I just received a automated voice message from CBB i could not make out the phone number as the first 7 digits were missing.  They asked for a call back however they didn't specify who they wanted the call from.  We do not have any debts and do not live anywhere near Vancouver. BC.  I will not be returning their call.  Time to report them to the authorities as my number is unlisted and is not linked to me...

same call, all hours... his name was Danny. Calling about a red flag on my credit card, to secure my account I needed to phone him back asap. I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD!!!

I've been getting calls from them too, saying that I owe money on an old account they purchased from Telus. From a residence I never lived at during the so called *time in question* I told him I don't care, send it on my credit rating and he said fine. I get a call back a week later saying its been flagged that if I didn't get it dealt with, it would go to litigations. My belief is that they purchased the debt, paid it off, and now can not send it to Equifax or whatever without taking the loss. The day he calls back and says Yes its on my credit rating, I'll believe different. But right now? I've told the last 3 guys to send it to the credit bureau and they have yet to. And in response to Arink, they have people that spend all day looking for numbers or other ways of contacting you. He told me so.

I got a call from someone named Richard Lewis from CBB 604-661-7955 and he claims that my husband has gone to collections for something (he did not say)...  I am wondering if this is the same deal, but the phone number is different?  We do not have any debts?  So I am wondering if this is the same person?

I had the same call  From CBB on a Saturday morning which made no sense at all and I have no outstanding debts that warrants a credit department.  I didn't get this call until after I filled out a survey with my number and entered a couple of contests on line,  that is where I think they got my info from to call me.  IF they call me again, i will tell them to F*** OFF as unless you have a court order that you have been served they have no authority.  they are trying to scare people.  Just watch who you give your info to and never give your real birthdate or your SIN number to anyone.

CBB collections tried to scam me by making me believe that I owed on a debt someone else took out in my name. I did major digging and the debt was for a man I am a woman who had a similar not same spelling of my name.  They tricked me into telling my full name and Bdate because I honestly believed someone stole my identity.  I found out the person with the bad debt was decreased.  I believe they knew this but wanted to earn their money for the account they purchased.  They give fake supervisors numbers.  They tried to nab my credit and cost me a full day of investigating.  I also now have to watch my credit score now. The woman there kept going in circles with me accusing me that I was this man.  The spelling of the name was not correct at all.

A "Sarah" called me today, from CBB Vancouver.  This has been one of many calls.   They don't ask for me ...... but someone by the name of Cameron Mills.  He supposedly resides at my phone #.  My number is not listed and is also on the No Call List.  I get calls almost daily.  These people are crazy! The number they leave me with is 1 866 387 8751.  I personally have no debt whatsoever.

They have called my work number a few times looking for some Keith person, I called back and they removed my number from there list as if they are telemarketers or something.  Id beware if anyone calls back its probably a scam!

I just received a call from this CBB company Vancouver, asking to verify my daughters mailing address, which I didn't but I only got a name from this girl, flags went up when she tried to confirm her birth date so I asked what it was about, they have mail that has been returned for her, ya right, Like I am going to give out that information, so I told her to send what ever to me and I would see that she gets it.
Problem I have is that the phone number comes up as a privite caller.

IN MY MIND IF YOUR LEGIT HOW COME YOUR CALLING FROM UNKNOWN ANYWAYS HE LEFT A 1 866 387 8751 NUMBER. I GOOGLED THEM AND THERE FROM THE STATES THATS A VERY LONG DISTANCE FROM WHERE I AM TO HAVE A CASE ON ME ALL THE WAY THERE. ARE THEY LEGIT OR WHAT, SMELLS LIKE BS.

They called my home and work....CBB VANCOUVER HEAD OFFICE   phone number 1-866-333-4559  I live in Canada aswell....Very hard to understand them.They left a message and talked very fast which makes it hard when your hard of hearing.

That is the exact same number that called me this monring. Why wouldn't they send a letter first? I am sure I have debt but i am very hesitated because it just doesn't seem right. They didn't leave a file # or reference #. Seems like a scam.

I just missed a call from a 778-328-9992 said she was calling from CBB vancouver, left a reference number and also left a toll free number for me to call her back.. first time this has happened to me, I just got this new number 2 months ago..

This groups appears to be still at it.  Our call from Kahn came at 8 am.   Same criptic bs and to call right back  The number left was 604 691 2145

So did anyone call the BBB or police to check this out?  D

I have been getting many calls from the same number.  (778-330-2288) I have no debts so I will not reply to them and am so suspicious that I am tempted to change my phone number. Now I am wondering if I should be in panic mode?  Is there someone with my name causing this?

This is a Debt collection Agency. There is no harm in calling this number back. You must have an outstanding debt os SOME SORT-in SOME AMOUNT -  For them to be calling you. I would suggest calling the number back and entering the extension. Don't give any information to them-simply ask them what they are calling in regards to.

My sister contacted me today, and said some guy called her from Cbb vancouver and wanted to talk to me and claimed i had given them her number, she has changed her number so many times in the last month even I cant remember it, and all the sudden I gave it to them? Never spoke to em, they called me but for some reason it wasnt in my received calls just in my Voicemail and no one said anything.
The only thing I have subscribed or given my # to lately that could probably put me there was ECost. and they also used my Maiden name which I havent used in well over 5 years.

Same deal.  A man called Paul phoned about a claim against me that had landed on his desk.  I have no pressing debts.  Thanks to all who have posted before.  You have given me peace of mind.

I recieved a call from a man that I could barely make out the name and number on. Call came up as out of area then 604-691-2420. I had to listen to him at least 7 times on my voice mail to understand him. He said that he was calling from CBB with some claim#. Told me that I needed to call him back ASAP to avoid further action against me because it is a time sensitve issue. I dont have any dept that I am aware of so I am wondering if it is a scam job. I am not returning this phone call!!

I received a voicemail today from CBB stating that someone had filed a claim against me! I have no idea who they are and if their true intention is to attempt some type of identity thief. I'm hesitant to return this phone call because I don't want to be another victim of scam artists.
