Definatly a SCAM!!! I too got this same call. wanted me to transfer money over to him, claiming he had a buying lined up. Do not fall for this idiot!

haha why did i call this number to check up on this scam guy and some tired dude answered the phone sounding completely like he was at home. this man is definitely a scam artist

I had a worried citizen call me to follow up on this scam as well, cause this guy told the client that I was his dealer contact in Edmonton. I let the client know that DJ AUTO has no involvement with funding way, or any type of finding buyers for used cars through private clients!!! Guy said he was with Funding Way, and Acceptance Corporation. THIS IS A SCAM... we are not affiliated with these companies or individuals. Number he called from. 604-723-1082 Name he used was William Archer  Even told the client to send the money to "DJ AUTO" wire transfer, but of course used BOGUS Bank info that was not our actual info!

same type of call but new no 604-723 1082-name was dean corso with funding way. said he had buyers ready to go so paid $860 by wire transfer to healyfordsa. no further contact.

Slightly different MO and a new phone number. 1-604-780-9594. Called it and it is ACA Consultants. Called himself Joseph and said money would come from a finance company in Edmonton, Funding Way, rep is Brandon Dockings.
The different method is I said no money up front but would be willing to pay commission on the sale. He said no problem. I did my checking and found this complaint blog and think this has saved me 1,800.00 (the commission he wanted).

I know that all as well. The name from the person is Justin Wittmore from Vancouver area with a cell phone # 1 778 317 1643.

He tried the same thing with me, was very good at answering questions and avoided telling me what address he was at. He also wanted money transferred to cover his commision. He's very pushy and kept saying he has a buyer ready to purchase. I will have to say he is very good at what he does and he knows a lot about vehicles and sales.

this all sounds too familiar I was also scammed by this idiot for $649.  Clearly he is half decent at what he is doing and his relentless tactics eventually tricked me into paying the idiot.  He also called me countless times I had said no to the guy 20 times already and when I asked for 20 minutes to think about it and said I'd call him back he called me back within 5 minutes pushing me to do it.  This was also past 10 o'clock at night claiming he is always working late.  He told me to do a little research on him look him up, too bad I didn't find this website before.  He tried to make friends with me making small talk about recent movies.  Whenever I asked serious question as to who his employer was or who he worked for he found someway to twist it around and con me into thinking this was not a scam.  I also reported it to the RCMP, phone busters, and the my local police they said investigations like these take up to a year.  This fool also told me he worked for a company named "funding way" which is in fact a real corporation in America.  He even went as far as giving me their customer care phone number.  But when asked why I was not making the money transfer to them he came up with some lame a** excuse.  He also told me the money transfer would be pending in my account until the point of sale, giving me the option to cancel at anytime.  He also told me I would be emailed an instant confirmation receipt and money back garauntee.  After not getting one I almost canceled the transfer before it went through to see if I actually could do this at any point.  He then called me right back ensuring that I don't cancel or else we would have to go through all this again on monday and he had buyers interested in my truck over the weekend.  I woke up the next morning to see if the cancel option was still there.  You guessed it, it was not and neither was my receipt or money.  I then ran to the bank hoping to be able to catch it before completely processed but the money had disappeared without a trace.  Watch out for this guy!

i got a call as well. he is going by the name Warren Kafka, he is trying to scam you. he got my number off auto trader and claimed to be an auto broker for people who got credit thru fundingway.com  i have read online a number of other people who have had the exact same thing happen to them with this number http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-604-727-7943

I've Been getting calls from this overly friendly man too... Warren Kas.. something. He is extremly pushy, definitly doesn't take no or I'll think about it for an answer. What kind of broker works at 9 and 10 at night? When asked "Will TD know about you" his response was "probably not, we're a subsidary and we could be one of twelve companies." When checking for Auto Credit Acceptance, it is only in Ontario, Warren claims to be in B.C and is always talking about the weather. He changes stories on how many buyers and their names. Fishy. I was also about to sign up,when I check this website and found all the information needed. I'm waiting for another phone call from him soon, then calling the RCMP Fraud Division.

I almost just got scammed by the same number. Thank god I checked the phone number on this website. He's VERY pushy and asks for a commitment on the spot. I was very close to budgiung but after asking him things like "Can i ask my bank about you?" and "Why cant i cash my cheque from the car sale first and THEN pay you?", his answers became very lame and completely hilarious. I hope they find this guy.

That last response from Stephen is obviously fake, probably from the guy who claimed to be 'Warren Kaska' when I talked to him.  This is a scam.  I was scammed by the same guy for $649.  His voicemail is for someone named Brian Parker and the call display says "Lane Corp"  So, sounds like this loser has stolen the phone too.

I actually got a call today from a buyer for my car, so i guess it wasn't a scam after all. Apparently he was out of town and managed to make it out to see me car just over an hour ago. I didn't get a check yet but I am supposed to go down to an office downtown tomorrow and sign some paper work so false alarm I know now it really works.

Really friendly guy called saying he could had 2 buyers interested in my car. Scammed me into paying $202 and I received nothing. No phone calls, no "sellers package" as promised. It's a scam. I feel like an idiot.
