I am one of several Jason LaQua's that appear on the internet. I am the one that owned and operated siouxlandmarketplace.com and ezadsusa.com. I graduated in 1994 from Range Technical College with an A.A.S in Law Enforcement. I graduated 2003 from the University of North Dakota with a BS in Aerospace Science. After that I was employed as an Air Traffic Controller at Kansas City Center in Olathe, KS. I also had to obtain a Secret Clearance to work as an Air Traffic Controller.
LaQua and Associates, was a website design company and a telemarketing firm. I had approximately 20 salespeople on an auto dialer calling every classified add that was posted on every newspaper website in the country. The people we called had just spent $50+ to advertise their goods or services in one newspaper for a week. We called them up and offered to put their trucks, puppies, antiques, etc? on our websites and others that I had agreements with for $30 and I would leave their ads up until they sold. We also enhanced the descriptions of their items for sale by giving them unlimited text and up to 6 pictures to sell their items. In order to get their pictures, addresses, names, payments, etc... Customer?s had to log into our website, email their information, or give their information over the phone. I've never seen a classified ad that had people?s names addresses and credit card information (neither had the Better Business Bureau). I never required customers to give payment information over the phone and I always honored our policy of leaving peoples ads up until they sold (until the business went broke.) I didn't qualify for any corporate bail out money.
As far as ?sexually raping? employees (instead of mind raping them I suppose). The local State Penitentiary had a work release program and I would hire convicts to work in my call center. I always got to interview them before I hired them and I would only take none violent persons that had never been accused of fraud. That narrowed it down to the best salespeople in the world. Drug dealers and addicts. They showed up on the bus every morning and were taken back to their cells every night. No calling in sick or being late for work. They couldn't steal or they would end up serving the rest of their terms. If they didn't work out, I just told prison and they wouldn't let them come back to work. How could you get better employees?  One of these work release inmates started a little office romance with one of my female sales reps. He figured out how to work the system in order to get a little alone time with her at her apartment during lunches. On several occasions they had consensual sex until one day when she didn't agree to the prison position. She reported him and of course there was an investigation and he had been put into general population immediately for violating his work release. After the investigation, the police decided not to pursue charges of rape and at that point I decided to terminate the female employee for falsely accusing another employee of rape. I found out about all these details from the prison official that I was working with to hire the work release inmates. As far as the ?former employee? that said she reported me to the owners and she was fired. There wasn?t any other owners or management to report to. It was just me.
After my business went belly up I worked for a major bank in their information security department. Of course that position included a background check as well. This is probably why I don't have any arrest records or any other negative information that shows up when you search my name. I do have another million dollar idea though. I'm going to start the Better Customer Bureau. Businesses would subscribe and before they do business with someone they could look them up. Think about it. If someone calls in to order a pizza and you look them up to see how many times they have gotten free food because of complaints, you might pass on that sale.
Of course all of the information in these posts are slanderous and I still have all these customers information. I may just have to start the Better Customer Bureau and offer it for free.

We had an Ad on Pupppy Find and they called our number (which is on the DO NOT CALL LIST) and tried to sell us a Business Card Ad on their site. They wanted our Credit Card info and my wife declined. She said they could call back the next week and talk to me (her husband). The salesman said that he had our business card ad all set up and we just had to approve it. After some discussion I told him I wasn't interested and he could just take the ad down. He said ok but you still have to pay $149.00. I said we never agreed to by anything and that we don't wqant it and hung up. The VERY next day we got a bill in the mail for $149.00 that was mailed the day after my wife had talked to him the week before.

These people need to be shut down!

I have an add in the local paper to sell my scooter. A gentleman called and said that he could "help me sell my scooter infact he had a buyer RIGHT NOW for it. He took down my information and what have you. I called back in less then 30 minutes to have the "order" cancled. I told him that I wanted to check the Better Business Bureau first. He said that he could take it off the web page but I would still have to pay $50.00 I ask to talk to a supervisor at that point. After he told me that he infact was a supervisor and a bunch of other hub-bub I finally got to talk to a "supervisor" who said that they could discontinue the whole transaction but it would cost me $15.00 for the trouble of have putting it on there web page. (I remind you when I called it had been 30 minutes or less). I agreed to that. Then I was told that, to get that $15.00 "Deal" I would have to pay RIGHT NOW by credit card or check by phone. I explained (several times) that THEY had iniated the first call and I was not about to give out my information over the phone that for all I knew I had reached someone's residence.
Finally she agreed to send me an Invoice for the $15.00 but threatened that if it was not paied IMMEDIATLY that this would go on my credit report.
I Think I have learned a $15.00 lesson not to deal with ANYONE who calls trying to push this type of service on me. If I had found this web site first I would have not had to go throught this much trouble.
P.S I did check the BBB web site (you can do it for free by phone number) and they as of today have an UNSATISFACTORY rating.

this is an update. I made a report with the Better Business Bureau yesterday just after finding this "blog" and adding the above comment. Since I have been home I have been contacted by the BBB and Guess what?  They got in touch with a Jason at this Sioux land Market Place & EZ adds. To day he has said that I will not be charged (and get this) he says that he will leave my add on the web site untill it is sold.  (I just wanted it off and not be charged or reported).  Too bad the BBB had to get involved to get the right thing done, but I sure am glad they did.

My elderly father placed an add in his small local community paper to sell hay.  a couple of months later he started getting harassing and threatening calls from a company in another state - South Dakota (EZADS aka siouxlandmarketplace both at the same number). They said he had placed an add on their website and he owed them a past due amount of $50 and threatened if he didn't pay they would turn him over to collections and it would affect his credit rating.  My father is not internet savy and would not place a local ad on a national site. He was scared and afraid of the calls and threats so he paid them the $50 to get them to stop.  He knew he had been scammed and was ashamed and didn't say anything.  When I found out I alerted in writing the State Attorney General's office, the local Police Department, the local newspaper, and now this website.  I believe these people scan ads in local papers, pull promising prospects, place ads on the web kind of like the original ad, then after a couple of months start a program of calling and harassing and threatening.  Its likely this happens a lot as the company lists 19 employees and claims over a million in business. (I'll bet the IRS would like to know that too).
They harass people until some of them pay.  According to the posts on this site and others, what happened to my father is happening around the country.  My guess is that because the amounts are small, $15, $50, $149, etc they fly under the radar of law enforcement.  But this is an interstate fraud operation that does volume business.  The owner is listed as a guy that in 2004 was still in school (Jason LaQua), when I called him he said he was  "just a low level bookkeeper"  but oddly Moorehead School lists him as "Graphic Designer" for the operation.  Elder LaQua is a fellow by the name of Gerald LaQua a.k.a "Jerry" LaQua.  He was the owner of Siouxlandmarketplace with the 6052758555 number but there was an "announcement" that he had retired and a new guy by the name of "Brock Vardsveen" was identified as General Manager.  Interestingly "Brock" claimed to have "7 million hits" to his Agri Classifieds, which implies you advertise with him and you reach an audience of 7 million, such a deal for $50!  but the web tracking sites list the  number of hits to his website in less than 2000 range, not even a good liar lies with easy to verify data like that.  There is a Sales Manager listed as Patrick Winklepleck but I got nothing else on him.  Also a common tactic for scammers is to change their name after it gets too hot.  So these guys went from siouxlandmarketplace to the national ezads.com but they kept the same two numbers  6052758555 and 6052711646 and both these numbers have numerous hits on the telemarketing complaints sites.  And further the dog company that posted above saying they posted on their site and had a good response is linked officially to ezads.com and if my research is correct, they have their own set of complaints from fraudulent sales of exotic pets and rip offs.  The last connection is a guy named Travis LaQua, he has a real estate company.  Interestingly tho, Gerald LaQua is listed in SouthDakota as having his real estate license pulled by the Board of Real Eestate and his reinstatement appeal was rejected by that state board.  so it looks like these guys are still in operation, are running a shady business that is thinly vailed behind legitimate ads.  I looked up a couple of common farm items on their ad site and got NO ads at all listed. Its time for authorities to look exhaustively at these individuals. They targeted my father and ripped him off and that isn't o.k. When I called them they flatly refused to return the money, stating that because my father paid, he was "guilty".   So for all the other victims who never made it this far, they should be stopped.

I am sorry to all who have been effected by this worthless companies fraudulent sales speech. Myself and 2 others used to work for this awful place. What is stated here is indeed the truth to how this place is run. We left the place with in a month because of shady operations between its employees. One of our employees was sexually raped by "Jason" and when the information was brough to the owners attention the company let the woman go but kept Jason on as Assistant Manager. We felt this was ridiculous and so walked off the job. When we left they tried to withhold our pay checks saying that we owed them for not making our sales quota. I am happy to inform everyone that as of today, the place is no longer in operations that we are aware of. Thank you to all those that wrote and complained about the company to help it get terminated.Had we known that such a place was scamming people we would of never been a part of it. Sincere apologies to everyone that was effected in some way from this scam.

These guys get ads from local papers, put them on their web sites, and start harassing the people that placed the original ads for "past due accounts" and threatening to sent them to collections and to ruin their credit ratings.  See also whocallsme.com for a list of similar scams and victim statements.  They "got" an elderly family member for $50 for an ad he never placed, harassed him until he paid, then said cause he paid he was "guilty".  Pretty shady group.  They operate across state lines via phone and internet, some of their business appear legitimate, some isn't.  The amounts they "get" people for are small amounts $15, $35, $50, $149 etc which till now has kept them under the radar of law enforcement.  Small Business Administration has loaned them money at least twice to "grow this business" and add more employees to run this type of scam.  WATCH OUT FOR THIS GROUP!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!

We had an ad with them last year for our ranch.  It was time to renew the ad, so we said ok, but we cannot do anything until 8/10/09.  The very next day that Pat called me, they charged my account for the $129!!  Since it was Saturday that I saw this, I had to wait until Monday.  I called Pat and he promised me that they would stop the transaction.  I told them that they better, because I did not authorize it for that day and it was causing overdrafts at the bank.   Again, he promised me that they would stop the transaction.   THEY DID NOT!!!   I ended up with 8 overdraft fees at $35 a piece!

I have called up every single day for the past month.  Every time I talk to Pat, he said he had to talk to Jason and PROMISED to call back and get this rectified!   THEY DO NOT KEEP THEIR PROMISES!!!  They have never called me back once, they have not refunded me the overdraft charges even after numerous promises.

WHATS WORSE IS THAT THEY DID NOT EVEN OFFER AN APOLOGY FOR THEIR MISTAKE!!

Very unprofessional company.    I will never do business with this company again.

They called and offered to post my new litter of Shepards for $35 with a picture until they were ALL sold. (better deal than the local paper) Sold one 2 days later that the person said they saw the add on-line and called me.  I was also able to have 1 other person look at that listing to see a picture of the puppies.  Way to go!

Called to ask my puppies were still for sale, I said yes.  They offered to set me up a website to sell them, and would trust me for payment later. I told them I had paid for all the advertising I was going to, had several classifieds on other websites, <probably where they found me> and had my own website the puppies were featured on.   I said no thank you and have a good day.  I was at work when they called.

Checked their website when I got home, 1/2 the pictures were crashed and their charges for listings were outragious.
LOL.
